There is also a significant contribution coming from the housing component. In PCE/CPI core this is amplified as far as I understand because housing has more weight in the index.
I really like your videos, they are very informative! A single (unsolicited) feedback: I would be helpful (especially for non native speakers) if you would "doodle" or draw your comments on the charts, so we have a vvisual reference of what you are looking at or referring to when looking at graphs. Imho.
Markets are underestimating how long rates will remain elevated. The FED DOES NOT want to return to the era of zero interest rates - it created too many bubbles (Bitcoin, EVs..). Until we hit a recession, they will remain elevated.
When a sector is growing quickly, like EVs, it often gets overbought by investors. Makes me wonder about AI investments and how hard some of them will fall.
@@ncognito2388 Only a year? They started talking rate cuts in January 2022 before the Fed even started hiking in March 2022. The first rate cuts were supposed to start by end of 2022. Total economic implosion if the Fed gets above 3%, they said.

@@SigFigNewton Agree re AI. I had NVIDIA stock for the last few years but actually recently started trimming. Valuations are just insane. There will be some amazing use cases that come out of AI but also alot of duds and wasted investor money.
I can’t wait for the day the internet “discovers” Dion and these A+ videos have tens of thousands of views before I get my day going on the west coast. Keep at man! #DontSkipLegDay
My take on the Gov transfers up 2.6 percent largely from SS. It’s a campaign year and what age group votes at the highest percentage than any other… the elderly and especially those retirees dependent on SS income.
@@spacetoast7783 maybe because I live in a large liberal city it is still going up because of all the illegals driving up rents and food prices due to section8 and EBT cards., I notice in slum areas where some other people live the prices are going down !!
One of the best channels he doesn't brag about who he just provides needed information without all of the fluff of a lot of other channels.
Thank you. I'm doing my best.
One of the best informative channel, thanks Dion
Don't skip leg day, consumers! 😂 Good analysis, Dion. Always appreciate these breakdowns.

Consumers eating Kelloggs for dinner are in a bind. At least Kelloggs is up.
Great breakdown‼️
It would be great if you put the charts on the screen as you talk.

Yep. This is part of why CPI has been higher than PCE recently. Housing is a big factor. I did a couple other videos digging into exactly that.
Many thanks

Thanks for the idea! I'll see if that's something we can add to the livestream in the future. I actually think that would be a great addition.
Excellent review.
Thank you.

Asset managers have been calling for rate cuts for over a year now. My guess is they will continue to be disappointed.
