I live in Texas right out side of Fort Worth. 109 the last couple of days with high humidity. I really need things to grow and thrive! Thank you for showing that things besides humans can grow in such harsh environments! 4 years go I found your channel with zero plants outside. Now we have a beautiful living space because you gave me the confidence to grow again. I was raised in a Floral shop in Pampa Texas 60 years ago. And lost the ability to love what I was trying to grow when I started my own place to grow. You have touched so many lives both young and old. Thank you for sharing your sweet family and love of growing all things, even broken hearts who happen upon your channel! Much love and Good vibes to you and your family.
Hi Cherri. I live here in Dallas on the southeast side. These high 103-109 temps in July have taken a major toll now on my plants and St. Augustine lawns. You know August is our Hottest month so I fear what that brings. We need Rain and Lots of It. I just Love Laura and her Stunning gardens. I’ve been watching for 2 almost 3 years and never miss her videos. Wealth of knowledge from her. Time for another Thrifting Spree with her Mom.
Just keep in mind that it’s not humid where Laura lives so it may get hot but plants can still breathe. I’m in GA and we don’t get up into 100’s but the humidity is what makes it tough on plants
As she was showing that last bit I was thinking, "oh look, Laura missed a spot!" Then she said she had a place for a plant😆! I love how she loves to fill every space with beauty!
When you say at the end of the video, “ I hope you found it helpful,” boy oh boy did it ever! Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing perennials at first year planting and then more established plants (2-4) seasons later! That gives me SUCH encouragement as I look at many of these same perennials I’ve planted this past year! Love videos like this…and maybe it should have been top 15-20, and not 10! Lol!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m so happy to see your post each morning. My life is difficult lately and it really helps to know you are going to post each day. It’s good to see your cheerful face and beautiful garden (and the kids and kitties and of course, Aaron ❤️). I wish you as much joy as you bring to so many.
I had to chuckle when Laura said, "When I come across this variety again," she would buy extra of it. You'd think that Proven Winners would send her that plant immediately! Her edging around all the beds is immaculate. I'm experiencing that gardening is a fun process, and I am already planning for what changes I need to make this fall. I have been at gardening only since I started watching GA a year ago. It makes me so happy when I am out in my flower beds and I get compliments from people all the time. I've learned so much of it from Laura! Thank you...
Thank you, thank you, for reminding us to have patience after planting and then showing us the growth rate between new plantings, yearlings and well established plants. I so often become discouraged when looking at my garden wondering if it will ever look filled in but then Laura says ‘be patient’ and I take a deep breathe and relax in anticipation. Thank you again for always giving us encouragement in every single video you share!
I love these kind of videos but you doing this by walking through your own gardens was PERFECT! Looking at a picture is great but seeing it in a practical application make it so much better.
Greetings, Laura, from Windermere Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 It is climbing to 90°F high with 80% humidity and it only drops to high 70's at night and still high humidity. We are watering early everyday to keep the plants alive. We are getting a few showers each week. Everything looks ready for a flower shop in your garden. 🌼 Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾👍
I'm in zone 9b in Arizona and we're going to hit 108+ today but our humidity is only 45%. It mostly just feels like an oven that sucks all of the moisture out of you when you walk outside
I'm so glad you showed us how the plants looked the first year!! That's one of the hardest things for me. I really want to plant more than I need and closer together than is necessary because I want them to look good right away. It's partly lack of confidence I think. Patience 💚
Laura the beautiful ornament grasses in background❤️Don’t forget about all the beautiful grasses! Grasses never take a break, no dead heading, cut back only with winter clean up and wave to us a year!
I adore how you educate us on keeping the gardens fresh with new blooms! God sure is so good to us to give us all the plants and the fine details of each plant to enjoy and you Laura teach us how to be successful with encourage and educating us. .Much appreciation to our LORD & the wisdom and love HE planted in your heart.
I’m getting ready to re-do several garden spaces and this video is very helpful. I love having the perennials in one video I can reference without making a list that I’ll inevitably lose. Thanks!
3:30 I can't take my eyes off of that beautifully cut grass edge. To keep mine looking like that, I do a vertical cut with the string trimmer every time I mow. I would love to see a video showing how you maintain the edge.
I believe that I saw a video where they initially used a straight edge spade to edge the grass, then maintain it with a string trimmer turned on it's side.
I love my Echinacea!❤ They were super beautiful this summer. My first year to no dead head as you suggested and I love the way they look. Thank you for showing more ideas. Your show has become my every day ritual.
Thank you, Laura, for the tour of your gardens showcasing what flowers & colour combinations look great together! I’m up near Niagara Falls Canada & a lot of what you have planted grows well here too. I’ve never seen those nodding clematis before, so beautiful. I have typically stayed away from the newer varieties of echinaceas as I wasn’t sure that pollinators or birds would be attracted to them. Appreciate your video showing the pollinators covering them! I leave mine up, so the birds can forage their seeds in winter.
Your comment at the end of this video on how it's a constant process was wonderful to hear. I know this may sound funny, but I'd really never thought of 'moving' a plant until I saw your videos. I would just keep wondering why it wasn't doing well.. Thank you so much. Writing from Zone 6 b... I think..
Morning everyone! I’m in NC zone 7b and todays high is 88 with 91% humidity 😅 This video is just what I needed since I am currently working on my backyard that is on a hill in full sun. This is my 1st year in my house and so far I have been working on making the hill usable and now with some terracing I can start to look for plants and flowers! I’m sure most will have to wait until next year, but I’m using your videos as inspiration and planning how to have interest all year round. Thanks GA and friends for everything!
Hi Laura, I'm in the heartland zone 6b. The temps have been high with humidity fairly high. It's been darn right unbearable. Right now at 7:53 am it's 82 degrees with 65% humidity & no breeze. Todays high is 106 with high humidity. It's been over 100 for some time now. Plants are suffering, I'm suffering, tomato plants have stopped setting, flowers are droopy no matter how much water they receive. I'm old & it's hard work. No rain in forever. The dog doesn't even want to go out..Dog days of summer! I start work outside early for 20 min. & come inside to cool off for half an hour. Then back at it. I have over 5+ acres I garden by myself. Hubby does not appreciate gardening what so ever! I so appreciate you and everything you do. Breath of fresh air you are, we obviously all enjoy watching you & your family while learning. Thank you.
I really appreciate you showing us the difference between 1st year and mature plants. There are those of us who are just starting to garden, who could benefit from seeing what we are starting out with and what will eventually happen. Thank you.
I love how your gardens are looking. It is amazing the transformation your property has taken since y’all have moved there. I don’t say thank you enough, so THANK YOU! I know filming all of this adds to the hard work that you’re already doing, but just know IT IS APPRECIATED!
Everything in your garden is looking so good. The color and texture combinations are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Also, how is your mom and how did her surgery go?
Even though I watch your videos daily, I remain greatly impressed by your accomplishments! I thoroughly enjoy seeing all the layers of color, texture, size, and just overall beauty of your gardens. You are most definitely in your element! Aaron, too. Thanks for sharing your wealth of beauty and knowledge of gardening in a very real way.
Laura, you have SUCH a good eye for colour-combinations. They’re largely harmonious blends- I’d be interested to see your approach to ‘clashy’ colours. Lovin’ your work! 💜🧡
Hi Laura, Love your Channel. I’ve been subscribed for 2 almost 3 years now and never miss a video. Yours is the First one that comes up at 7am here in Dallas, Tx and I’m awake and ready to watch, lol. I’m saving this video when I’m off to buy more perennials I will open this up while and pick some of these items. Isn’t it Time for another Thrifting Spree with Mom? I so look forward to these as well. Your Mom is just Precious and I Love watching you two together. I laugh every time you try on Hats. I can’t pull hats off but y’all can. Much Love from Dallas, Tx
I am a huge fan of perennials! I tuck in annuals and enjoy the color in summer and I fuss over my perennials. I enjoyed this tour of your garden as well as all of the information! I hope your mom is doing well and the surgery is good and she recovers quickly! PS: The stone pathway is looking great - even in the early days/practice lay-out phase!
Absolutely beautiful plants. I have become an echinacea lover this year. Planted echinacea last year and foliage was all that grew. This year the echinacea really showed off with many blooms that the birds and pollinators love!! Thanks for all you do!!
Everything looks so pretty! I planted platinum blonde this year it’s really unique with its variegation. This area is developing fast your hard work is paying you back.😁🌞👏
Hello my friend. This is more than just a video, you put love and passion into it. Great job! Thanks for sharing this video! Always believe in yourself and keep doing what you love, good luck! 🌷🌸🌻👍
This gave me such good ideas for a sun area that I am just starting. Good to see how they go from young plants to maturity-beautiful. Love the little girl statue😊
I'm in Utah, where we also know the definition of a dry heat! Was in TN a month ago and the humidity was horrid!! I will take a dry heat over a humid heat any day!! Love the perennials, which will be perfect for one of my garden's redesign next year!
Well you taught me something new today Laura. I've had this flower in the garden that I never could figure out what it was but the bees love it. My plant app says it's oregano and I said ' no ' what a stupid app 🤣. Well, I'm wrong, the app is correct because your video shows the exact same plant as mine!! New gardener and still learning 😊. I'm so happy to know I have an ornamental oregano plant. Thanks for your knowledge.
Thank you Laura for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. Your blessed to have a husband that shares your vision. Seeing your little family grow as your garden grows is a blessing to us.
AWESOME garden! I tried to take notes... you covered so much ground, THANK YOU~ amazing girl! You have such great energy! The Tour was nothing short of Wonderful!!!!
I have 3 russian sage in my garden. 1 one them has yellowing at the base and about 1/2 the way up. What causes this? Is it getting too much water? I only water about once a week (in zone 7a)
This was really sweet for me. I had to put to sleep my 16yr old kitty Lily on Wednesday. She was my sweet baby girl and I miss her so much. We ended up burying her in our backyard near our little arbor and our small vegetable garden. She’s in a sunny spot which she loved. I went to the garden centre and put a daylily called entrapment. The lady that served me was really nice and gave me one with buds and yesterday it started blooming. It melted my heart. Your video really helped me and it was like a sign she’s ok. Thank you so much Laura and everyone. You’ve taught me so much on how to garden and your sweet tone helps on days like this.
Love these kind of vids because it visually helps me remember types. And now that summer is turning the corner, when the perennials go on sale, I'll know how to select some bargains. Thank you!
I find it so enjoyable how excited you get about the pollinators. I love seeing nature in it's fullest glory. Thanks for sharing. Everyday you give new ideas and information.
I added the Daisy Mays. They can take the heat plus they bloom continuously. You can save the seeds. They are Perennials and Proven Winners outdid themselves with this plant. Three fi high and wide. I love daisies, an have five in a circle which has grown together and makes a huge statement in my garden.
Hi Laura, thanks for the tour! I have a cottage perennial garden (zone 6 in Massachusetts) that is half shade, half sun, and it’s always a challenge to find plants that will bloom at different times in the season. I also have a bunny problem. They love echinacea and yarrow… super bummer. Two questions: 1. Do you do anything with the seed pods that day lilies produce? My mom taught me to pull them off the plant and toss them on the ground in hopes they’ll dry, open, and spread their seeds, but I never truly believed that it works! 2. Could you do a similar video for shade perennials (hopefully some that add more color to the garden)? Thanks for being the start to my day every day!
Year before last, I let them mature on the stalk. I collected the ripe seeds in the fall and then winter sowed them. I got hybrids! The parents were peach and burgundy and the babies are a soft combination of the two.
Funny you mentioned bunnies. A rabbit made a nest in the middle of our yard. I was touring my garden last night only to find an entire coneflower plant completely mowed down. 😫
Good Morning! 🌞🌹I live in the Midwest & you hit the nail on the head about the high humidity making our temperatures unbearable! Right now you can see the moisture in the air! 😳 I do love all the plants you featured & do have a lot of those plants planted in my gardens!! 😃🥰🌻🌸🌿🤍💚💜💛
Thank you for letting me know that these Echinaceas do take time. I was freaking out to understand why they are not tall and full this season. I just brought them
I watched this twice because I loved looking at the background and how much the South property has grown and changed! The trees and all the layering looks fantastic! The lawn looks fabulous and the edging is perfect! Thank you for your inspiring videos! From Susan in Western Washington!
You inspire me to work on my yard. I’ve lived here for 20 years and did very little cause I just didn’t know what to do. After finding u many years ago, I feel like a pro…lol!!! I give u full credit for my front yard!! It’s an extremely slow process but it’s getting there and now thinking of future things to do in my back yard. Thank u so much!!!! Love u guys!!! From Ohio!! 👋🏼
Laura! Your videos absolutely make my heart sing a happy, happy song of thanksgiving! Thank you for investing heart and soul into your beautiful property - - - and then sharing the knowledge with us! So inspired to attempt to create replicas on our little 4 acres here in southwestern Missouri! God bless!
Good morning Laura, everything is looking fabulous!! I really got some great ideas this morning from your garden as I always do!!! Hope you have a wonderful day and I’ll be waiting for tomorrow’s video!
Thank you so much for showing the beginning stages of the echinacea. You are right, it can be discouraging to always see the beautiful without seeing the not so pretty early stages of a flower garden.
Best video in awhile. So amazing to have actual examples in your garden instead of having to rely on images. Almost a mini garden tour! Loved every minute of it. It’s very interesting the difference in growing environments. I’m an experienced gardener here in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I’m told we’re zone 6, but my growth on plants that you’ve mentioned is so drastically different. My 2 year old denim and lace, in optimum conditions is only a foot tall. I can’t get a hardy hibiscus to bloom for the life of me. However, I never have to cut back my cat mint as it blooms non stop all summer! We may be the same zone but very different growing conditions. I find that fascinating.
Thank you for showing the plants in their first year. I am an impatient gardener and sometimes think it was my fault when planted but I just need to give the perennials time. Also, love seeing the “shade” full sun plants that aren’t thriving in the partial shade. I have some plants to move! Thank you!
These were some great drought tolerant perennials for full sun areas. And I like that most of them can be sheared back and produce a 2nd and 3rd flush of blooms.
Wow. I just bought this house and the flower garden has 10 years of blackberry briers, honeysuckle, English ivy and poison ivy vines. Her day lilies survived but they are being choked. Quite a project ahead of me but I so appreciate the information and suggestions on perennials. So glad I found your channel.
I live in Texas right out side of Fort Worth. 109 the last couple of days with high humidity. I really need things to grow and thrive! I was just about to say it's almost high desert here in Texas. My yard looks like I have oases where I'm watering young trees and plants.
Hi Cherri. I live here in Dallas on the southeast side. These high 103-109 temps in July have taken a major toll now on my plants and St. Augustine lawns. You know August is our Hottest month so I fear what that brings. We need Rain and Lots of It. I just Love Laura and her Stunning gardens. I hear you about the heat Cherri! I am East of you near Gainesville, TX! Laura has been so inspirational!
I’m In Dallas and first year gardening, I picked a tough one to start :)
Laura tickles me....giving us a wonderful tour, then "oh, I have a space there, I need to plant something there!" That was so fun!!!
I second that 🤣
As she was showing that last bit I was thinking, "oh look, Laura missed a spot!" Then she said she had a place for a plant😆! I love how she loves to fill every space with beauty!
I love these category videos, but you walking around and showing off different varities in your own garden? That's another level. More please!
Lol!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right!? My tiny new Veronica, catmint, and a salvia are all so sad and little. Or they are dead. 🤣
I’m so happy to see your post each morning. My life is difficult lately and it really helps to know you are going to post each day. It’s good to see your cheerful face and beautiful garden (and the kids and kitties and of course, Aaron ❤️). I wish you as much joy as you bring to so many.
Wishing you some brighter days ahead 🤗
I wish you all the best 💕

I agree. Also PW should be like “Your wish is my command garden queen “😀
PW could use her greenhouse as a distribution centre!
@@rhodealexandre6583 Totally agree
When you film the south garden, I always think how beautiful those “new home” folks’ borrowed view will be!
Sending the best to your Mom. 🙏🌸
We love getting here early enough to say Good Morning to the GA community! Good 🌄 Morning! 😀

I'm in zone 9b in Arizona and we're going to hit 108+ today but our humidity is only 45%. It mostly just feels like an oven that sucks all of the moisture out of you when you walk outside
Hey, zone 9b here too, in Orlando by the airport(Lake Nona). 😊. Thinking I really need those Cantaloupe Echinacea, 😀
Who else had to go check their weather app to see what your humidity level is?
93% for us here in Ny! 🥵
I'm so glad you showed us how the plants looked the first year!! That's one of the hardest things for me. I really want to plant more than I need and closer together than is necessary because I want them to look good right away. It's partly lack of confidence I think. Patience 💚
I love that you showed the echinaceas that were just planted .
I love the tone on Lauras voice when she says: “aren’t those gorgeous” or “so pretty” I can totally relate, I say the same things 😆Love it them all 😂
Thanks for watching

I’m getting ready to re-do several garden spaces and this video is very helpful. I love having the perennials in one video I can reference without making a list that I’ll inevitably lose. Thanks!
You looked so much cooler in that light colored top. 👍 Thanks for the 10 ideas!!
As much as I love your various plants, I’m really totally envious of the crisp lines of your grass pathways!! ❤️
I love seeing those close-ups of the pollinators; my yard hosts a bumblebee nursery and I'm working to attract more!
*bumblebee nursery* Love it. I hope my garden will become that kind of nursery!
3:30 I can't take my eyes off of that beautifully cut grass edge. To keep mine looking like that, I do a vertical cut with the string trimmer every time I mow. I would love to see a video showing how you maintain the edge.
Me too! Hard to take my eyes away 😆
Aaron has mentioned that he keeps the edge cut with the weedeater too…
I think she she done this in the past.
I believe that I saw a video where they initially used a straight edge spade to edge the grass, then maintain it with a string trimmer turned on it's side.
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
last year I planted 10 different types of echinacea in my front garden. It's amazing to look at from the office window.
Looks like I am walking in Fairy land .Gorgeous show by all flowers
I love my Echinacea!❤ They were super beautiful this summer. My first year to no dead head as you suggested and I love the way they look. Thank you for showing more ideas. Your show has become my every day ritual.

I think..
Wow your garden has changed so much in a year. Everything looks great. I love watching the development! I hope your Mom is healing quickly!
That garden area looked bare and sad last year, but you turned it into a beautiful garden.Thank you for sharing the joy.

Hey I am in NC zone 8A. Hortube with Jim Putnum has videos for hill planting if you've not seen any of his video's. And he is in Raleigh.
@@peony7967 that’s a good idea!
That cantaloupe coneflower is gorgeous! I'm in TX, Zone 9a, so I can't wait to get my hands on some!!! Thanks for sharing your list with us.
I just bought some! They look better in person too!!

Great ideas for sunnier spots. Don’t y’all love how Laura always seems to find an empty spot…oh, I can tuck something in here. 🌸☀️🌺
It seems we are Hot across the US right now. This is a perfectly timed video for us 😀
I really appreciate you showing us the difference between 1st year and mature plants. There are those of us who are just starting to garden, who could benefit from seeing what we are starting out with and what will eventually happen. Thank you.
There is nothing prettier than putting purple and yellow flowers together! My favorite!
What a difference a year makes! Magnificence. Can’t wait for next summer.
Thanks for watching

Yep! Today in my area of Florida it is going to be 93° (which is not too bad,)but 93% humidity. :-) We just roll with it! 😂😂😂
I'm in Utah, where we also know the definition of a dry heat! Was in TN a month ago and the humidity was horrid!! I will take a dry heat over a humid heat any day!! Love the perennials, which will be perfect for one of my garden's redesign next year!
I run out of adjectives to describe all of the beauty.....super job Laura and Aaron
Good morning from South Carolina. I'm really happy to see all of the beautiful heat loving plants. I can't wait to plant some of these.
All the flowers are doing great in the heat but Arron the grass is looking fabulous!
Morning coffee walk through your garden would be wonderful! One of my favorite things to do in my own garden. 🌸💚
Thanks for watching

AWESOME garden! I tried to take notes... you covered so much ground, THANK YOU~ amazing girl! You have such great energy! The Tour was nothing short of Wonderful!!!!
I have 3 russian sage in my garden. 1 one them has yellowing at the base and about 1/2 the way up. What causes this? Is it getting too much water? I only water about once a week (in zone 7a)
Your grass looks beautiful! The kids will have a great time playing on the soft grass.
I love it that you're showing us first year and second year growth in the same video, very inspiring !
Loved this!. A tour, real life plant profiles, ideas, Laura , pollinators, even tiny bit of kitty footage. Thank you!💚💚💚
Good morning! In the heat of summer you can still have beautiful blooming plants. So many ideas.
Love your garden.. just stunning very inspiring.. im from Australia and this has given me loads of ideas.. thank you😃
Love these kind of vids because it visually helps me remember types. And now that summer is turning the corner, when the perennials go on sale, I'll know how to select some bargains. Thank you!
Thanks for watching

I find it so enjoyable how excited you get about the pollinators. I love seeing nature in it's fullest glory. Thanks for sharing. Everyday you give new ideas and information.
Oh my gosh, Laura, you are the queen of flowers. 🌼 I get so much enjoyment from your knowledge. You make my day. Thank you!
Your echinacea are stunning! I am going to have to add some to my garden 😍
I wish they sis as well for me. The fancy varieties usually die by end of summer, I have ONE plain pink that stays with me.
So Beautiful LOVE the Cantaloupe Echinacea 💛🧡
Thank You for all you share!
The wait can be discouraging but, gardening teaches us patience and it is a good way to slow down and appreciate everything in life.
Good Morning! 🌞🌹I live in the Midwest & you hit the nail on the head about the high humidity making our temperatures unbearable! Right now you can see the moisture in the air! 😳 I do love all the plants you featured & do have a lot of those plants planted in my gardens!! 😃🥰🌻🌸🌿🤍💚💜💛
I love it when you put names on the screen of the plants, you are talking about
Thank you for letting me know that these Echinaceas do take time.
Awesome. Its beautyful flowers
Loved seeing what’s flowering in your garden at the moment guys. Thanks for the mini tour. 👍👍🌸🌺😊
From Ohio!! 👋🏼

So inspired to attempt to create replicas on our little 4 acres here in southwestern Missouri! God bless!

Thank you so much for your posts! I'm new to gardening and am learning so much!
Thank you so much for showing the beginning stages of the echinacea. You are right, it can be discouraging to always see the beautiful without seeing the not so pretty early stages of a flower garden.
So love this video! Thank you for showing how each season the flowers get better. Found some I think I will add for fall. Hope you have a great day!
Supreme Cantaloupe! I have to have it now!
Thank you!
Thank you for giving us so much substance in your daily videos. Your love for plants is very contagious!
These were some great drought tolerant perennials for full sun areas. And I like that most of them can be sheared back and produce a 2nd and 3rd flush of blooms.
I so appreciated this tour! Seeing the perennials that can go the distance is super helpful.
Wow. I just bought this house and the flower garden has 10 years of blackberry briers, honeysuckle, English ivy and poison ivy vines. Her day lilies survived but they are being choked. Quite a project ahead of me but I so appreciate the information and suggestions on perennials. So glad I found your channel.
