As an alumnus of FAMU, I see that nothing has changed. The problem lies in the nepotism within the leadership. FAMU has a history of keeping only familiar faces around, even if they are incompetent. Whenever an outsider attempts to bring about positive change, they are driven away. FAMU needs a complete leadership overhaul, bringing in competent individuals to manage the administration. Many of the old guards must step down to make way for those who know what they are doing. Until then, nothing is going to change.
Cannot wait to hear Roland break this down. A chair who says she knew nothing but has her signature on the document. A president who says he takes full responsibility but does not submit his resignation along with the foundation chair.
@@wolvesofblackwallstreet6780 Larry Robinson is very well-liked, but that is part of the problem. Larry is the kind of person who wants to be liked and lets things slide. He is not bringing any new vision to FAMU. He runs the school like a family business, allowing things and incompetent employees to remain unchanged. I can tell you firsthand that there are many high-level employees and even professors who are incompetent but well-liked because they give good grades or tell good jokes, leading students to believe they are getting the best education. Robinson is a good guy, but he's not tough enough to implement changes that would transform the school. Doing the same things while expecting different results is not sustainable for FAMU. They need transformational leadership, even if it makes some people uncomfortable in the short term.
@@dollarroll2000 💯 Reminds me of that missionary Baptist church I grew up in. This is how they ran things. In the long run, with no 'new blood' (transformational leadership), they will not grow.
How is Trustee Perry on both FAMU and BCU trustees board? LEST WE FORGET?? He shouldn't be on any HBCU's board because he can not have their best interest, after how he has single handedly tried to destroy Bethune Cookman!
Ok, Roland, just watched this on another platform. PLEASE synthesize this for me cause, to me, NOTHING was disclosed, revealed, corrected other than the voluntary resignation of one staff/ board member. I'm an inquiring mind and I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!
The fact that Robinson has yet to submit his resignation speaks volumes. Had this happened at ANY other university he’d already be gone. If both Miles AND Wiley Colleges could see this Gerami character was fugazi and their compliance offices are maybe 1/3 the size of FAMU’s there’s no excuse.
Woulda been nice to have made the Prez give details about how this mess started, rather than bail him out with this call from an outside investigation. The Prez answers to the Board, so there's no need for an outside person to send him questions. The Board could have/should have made him answer every question here in this meeting. Watch the Prez refuse to answer questions that come from the investigator, probably claiming confidentiality as a school executive. As a public university, the state government can also make him answer questions if the Board isn't going to directly do it themselves.
Why do you need an outside firm that costs the university more money that they don't have? With all the college degrees if you have common sense it should be easy to figure out where the problems are. Can you can fix what problems, you have it is simple!

100% correct
Yep! 100% agree! Nepotism and cronyism!
If you know you know

A lot of FAMU people do NOT want Robinson to resign, at least not right now.

This type of circuitous holier than thou grandstanding is something that so many HBCU leadership teams exhibit. Tell me that I’m lying.
Just throwing Robert’s Rules of Order out the window. Rudely interrupting, not allowing General Counsel to finish a sentence. Jeez 😮

Go watch last week’s meeting

him signing his name on an NDA at a public institution is a fireable offense alone!
They need to be hiring a crisis management firm and an independent communications firm
That was my first thought, as well: They need the best crisis manager that money can buy. POSTHASTE.
Hate how this makes our HBCUs look smh
Naw just FAMU ...He didn't doop ANY other HBCU!...just FAMU
@@alfonsaht8882Yep, it's yet another FAMU scandal.
That school has a very hard time staying out of the news. For years.
Cronyism at the HIGHEST Level.
Well lets hope that "we" can monitor, and administrate our own affairs! I appreciate the transparency and hope that this is a lesson learned.
It's Florida. I expected nothing more, nothing less. There is no story here 😅
These people still act as if this was a real transaction 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
It wasn’t…but protocols & policies were violated in the process. The implications of the violations are much worse than the Monopoly money.

Harper came out looking bad on this.
Yeah. Her reading some scripted notes made her look even worse. SHE GOTTA GO!!

FAMU has a problem staying out of the news, for all the wrong reasons.
FIRE THE WHOLE BOARD
no not the whole board. they knew what we knew
I’m sorry, why is Roland Martin going harder on this President then he is went on Tiffany Henyard 👎🏾
