Thank you for uploading this game! I remember watching this live. The Rambling Wreck of Ga. Tech pummeled Nebraska that day, and the lone bright spot for the Children of the Corn was the introduction of freshman sensation Derek Brown at I-back. Go Big Red!
Nebraska was truly outsmarted this game. This was the game Osborne was truly out coached. None of the Miami or Florida State teams even did this to Nebraska and Osborne. Nebraska was more talented down to the kicker, yet still lost in blowout fashion. Ultimately, this game and this season caused Nebraska to incorporate more modern elements into their offense and defense. Without this game, the mid-90s greatness never happens
This game, this season ultimately was what made Nebraska reconsider and reevaluate some of their practices and way of doing things. Georgia tech truly did outsmart Nebraska this game. Nebraska in their losses during that season truly seemed lost and frustrated.
Can someone please explain to me how an undefeated and utterly talented Georgia Tech team had to share the national championship with a one loss Colorado team that lost to Illinois and should’ve lost to Missouri?? I’m a Husker fan but, my god, hats off to Bobby Ross and Georgia Tech! The rambling wreck was the much better team this game!
Meanwhile Colorado somehow gets ranked No.1 after 1 loss, 1 tie, plus the fifth down bullshit against mizzou? Easily the most fraudulent national championship ever imo.
Osborne and Nebraska were truly outsmarted this game. Nebraska was more talented from top to bottom, yet were blownout. None of the teams fielded at Miami and FSU by Johnson, Bowden, Erickson did this. Not even Switzer's OU teams did this. There were talent differentials there that Tech did not possess. Yet, it was still a complete blowout. Fortunately, Nebraska changed because of this. The teams of 93-97 would not have been without this game.
@HimSb-vz6he I agree in the case of Miami and FSU. However, with Georgia Tech I can't disagree more. Complacency and flawed roster construction was the biggest reason they lost to Georgia Tech. Nebraska was more talented from top to bottom and was still routed. Sure there were differences in Talent between FSU, Miami and Oklahoma in some cases. But, being totally run off the field by a lesser talented team is indicative of bigger problems. The 1990 season should be considered the lost season by Nebraska fans. Getting routed by Colorado, totally blown out by an Oklahoma team that was on probation and getting beaten soundly by Georgia Tech indicated huge problems. Fortunately, Dr. Osborne corrected the problems

The true national championship college football team of 1990. Not those frauds in Boulder.
Those Tech uni's are fire! Need go to go back to that style
I always loved the Tech uniforms from this era.

These graphics were straight from the 90s. Born in it. Molded by it

Tech got absolutely no respect. Undefeated ranked #2 and playing in the citrus bowl which usually has 2 conference runners up!

ACC Champ was contractually bound to the Citrus Bowl at that time.
