I love how both mother and daughter are so humble
Especially when you compare Ruyi's mother to Fuca's and Ling's mothers, you can tell Ruyi's mother sincerely loves her.

You can tell the difference between the first wife’s own mother versus Ruyi’s own mother. Complete opposite. You can tell that the first wife (since I don’t know the spelling and name) own mother just fell out of love for her own daughter after she been married.
With Ruyi own mum, you can tell she will be worried about her own daughter, for life and death. And adore her to kingdom come. Which is why after the death of her own sister, she does care for Ruyi and be worried of whatever is down the road.
Yes…empress fuca’s mother isnt worried about her health (especially since she urged the birth of the second son of hers selfishly) while Ruyi’s mother is more caring and concerned for her own daughter. In every scene with empress Fuca’s mother, felt quite exhausting. Sometimes i felt sorry for her (first empress fuca) Empress fuca’s family only cares about Fuca clan glory in this drama…

They're different actresses. Ping Ru is the mother of the empress Fuca in Yanxi palace. Fang Xiaoli is the mother of Ruyi
