God this was hard back in the day, we had 2 controllers too, we always got our big brother to do it, and he always plays as Gingy cause thats his favorite.
Did the same for my brother but it was still SO DAMN HARD. It got the to point where Gingy was the only one still alive and we were just holding our breath as I got through.
It's easier if you buy the Attack Bonus

This was my favorite level as a kid despite it being tough back then. The music and the moves of Little Red was fire!🔥
I honestly love this part. It's stressful and it makes your palms sweaty with anxiety that you'll mess up, but it's fun!
You can say that again, I usually let everyone die at the end then beat him with Shrek since he's the main character.

The key to this level is knowing the buttons on your controller and rhythm. Also, good memory too. I loved this level either way. It was one of the hardest other than Donkey's Hero Time. Me and my siblings would always die at the "One Life Down, Eight To Go". Ginger and Red's move are awesome at that last part too. Those two are amazing.
Dude after I figured out the rhythm I was awesome at the level so I purposely killed the other guy so it was just Puss vs Gingy.
I remember being stressed at this level(the music and how dramatic it was didn't help-), but I loved it! Just...make sure you look down at the controller every so often so you don't mess up.

I remember I took 3 or 2 attempts beating this level.
Funny I actually had to have my cousin beat it for me twice (game data got deleted and I was 7). First time she let everyone but red die then won second time she perfected him

Thank god I’m not the only one who struggled with the button mashing. I remember after like 10 attempts I was just getting ready to break my game cube and started crying because this lvl was so difficult. I went into a fit of rage and started smacking every button and then finally beat it

Red Riding Hood is my second favorite female character to play as.
Ahh all the memories are flowing back, this was the hardest level for me and I always had to have my dad to help me. I remember after this level you would get to play as puss sometimes and I always loved playing as him, in fact, I still have this game but my ps2 is giving out on me. I miss this game a ton

Fucking randomly remembered this in the middle of the night and decided to look it up. Shrek is love, shrek is life.
I saw a vid of this one tiktok as “what’s the hardest video game level in history”
I literally gasped and dropped my phone, the memories of countless attempts and asking my parents to pass the level for me came flooding back in a information overload.
I always liked switching to Lil Red in this chapter lol I think she had the best fight animations and her button combinations were always different and slightly more difficult than everyone else's. I remember when I was older, I would intentionally kill the other 3 and just do the whole chapter as Lil Red LOL

Oh the memories...my siblings and I had a hard time on this level...I remember being the only one alive in the last round and completing the level and the rest was semi-smooth sailing-two siblings wanted to be Puss in Boots but the elder sibling had to let it go to the younger one...
I was 6 when I first played this. Puss in Boots felt impossible, It took me like an entire week to get that shit. Specifically the second round with Donkey. The Cat yell that he does haunts me to this day.

I was so used to a Nintendo console, when I was playing this at a friend, I could neved get used where the buttons were. It was a great experience to watch him breeze through all phases
Also, interestingly I was aware that the graphics in game were not the same as in the movie, but I also kind of accepted it, and thought games could never live up to the potentional as dedicated movies, times have changed now.
This part of the game used to frustrate me as a kid. But with practice on timing and rythem I eventually made it.
Unironically, Puss in Boots had the deepest Boss HP bar I've ever fought against as a kid. Legendary long battle that tested and improved my timing skills as a child.
I absolutely hated this boss fight as a kid because my button timing was absolutely horrible back then and this guy had a ton of health. Why did this level have to be so hard and early in the game? It could’ve just acted out like a regular Boss fight instead of just a quick time event fight.
Am i the only one who found this easier than most? My talent at music and video games just came easy here

I remember this part... Me and my sis playing until the 3rd part where she'd hand me her controller and I'd clear it. I never had much trouble with this part.
Always used to be my favourite level as a kid. In the ps2 version though, for some reason whenever I would replay it after beating the game on a save file, Puss would go down in like 5 hits. Did anybody else ever get this glitch?

I'm almost positive that this level gets easier and player attacks do far more damage upon replaying it. Every time I played it as a kid on a new save, it would be hard af. But every time I replayed it afterward it would be easy. Then when I'd start a new game and get there again it was hard af again

Out of all of the characters used in this level, I like Gingy and Red the most. Gingy looks like he's about to fence with Puss (Even though he's armed with a candy cane) and Red just seems to have fluid animations, I mean, C'mon, she basically does a Prima Abscond, Jo for one of her dodge anims.
Is anyone gonna bring up the fact that Gingy is HUGE?
