A true legend of Australian music RIP
She was every Aussie guy's fantasy girl, and every Aussie girls wannabe, if they had the courage in the 80s & 90s .
She did touch everyone and she was a gift that ended way too soon.
RIP Chrissy, sadly missed
She was a dude..lol
I literally jumped out of my chair when I saw this! And her middle name is the same as mine, Joy! I didn’t know that! She was such an outstanding woman, so incredibly gifted and l loved the photos! The photo of her at fifteen, such a beauty. Unconventional but stunning. I remember her refusing to get her teeth fixed, lol. Good on her! (I can’t help wondering if it was also for the same reason Freddie Mercury refused to get his fixed, he was concerned it would anatomically change the way his voice sounded) The controversy over her sensuality was always amusing to me, she had such a personality, she’d have dealt with the critics pretty fast! A fierce spirit with a gentle, artistic heart. Such an Australian legend, she handled her terrible illnesses with such grace. THANK YOU for this excellent tribute!!!❤️
Thanks so much Deidre 🥰💕 She definitely lived life by her terms and oozed talent and sex appeal ❤ May she be RIP 😇
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv yes. I can imagine her strutting around up there on her terms!
Just a note too, on the 16th of this month it’s the 47 year anniversary of Marc Bolan’s passing. 47 years! That blew my mind. A lot of my fellow Marc fans have links to your video now too, grin. You did a fantastic job with it🤗
@@DeidreL9 Aww thank you so much Deidre 🥰 47 years wow! Where does time go 🤷♀
You jumped for Joy.
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv it’s crazy isn’t it!
RIP you sassy soul Chrissy Amphlett ~ we love you x
I just knew , I touch myself and I then saw other songs on RUclips and I'm now a big fan of the Divinyls RIp Chrissy thanks for the brilliant music a fan from England ♥️♥️
Try rose tattoo and then the angels. Good Aussie hard rock bands 👌
I’m 55 now but on my 16th birthday I saw her live at a club in Adelaide Australia…she was sooooo off her face and was terrible..never forget my disappointment…still love her but only when sober. Rip ❤❤❤❤
I saw her in concert in hindley st in the early 90s and she was still off her face! I thought it was awesome tho ❤❤❤ RIP
I saw the Divinyls live in Detroit in 1991 - a memorable show!
Great piece..... thank you a bunch. What a tough road for her. Also appreciated your piece on Allen Lanier...
Would you consider highlighting Myles Goodwin
I will look into Myles for you and I'm so glad you enjoyed the vids thank you 🥰👍
Thankyou so much for this history lesson !!! ❤
Thank you for watching 🥰
Thanks for this. Been a long time since I've seen anything on youtube about Divinyls. My favorite Aussie band. Their three Chrysalis albums are essential rock albums. Their later stuff is still great, but to me a bit more inconsistent. R.I.P. Chrissy.
So happy you enjoyed it 🥰 Thanks for watching 😁👍
Where's the love button! ❤
Agree ❤❤❤❤
I can't believe she's gone. I only knew the one song, but that song was really popular in the States. At least, amongst my friends a few years later. She's the second Scorpio who passed away in as many videos as I've seen on your channel. The other being Jan from Vixen 😢
Yes its hard to believe they are gone as they seem so vibrant and full of life in their videos and in person 💔 Thank you for your comment and for watching, I appreciate you 🥰
Great Aussie rock lady.rip❤️❤️❤️
Miss you Chrissie.. RIP
What A Life was a near perfect album.
Chrissie was so beautiful, I had such a crush on her, still do....
God bless you🙏
Rockwiz legend.
What q cute kid, nice teeth
They said, fetishism and sexual roleplay, as if it was a bad thing. : )
I think she touched herself too much, she went blind!
She will always be remembered as an icon of the Australian rock music scene RIP Chrissy
Really
Thank you for honoring Chrissie. As an Australian woman myself, it means a lot to watch this video. ❤🎉
Thank you 🥰 So pleased you enjoyed it! Chrissie was a very special lady and deserves to be honored ❤
@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv yes Chrissie is adored by many and oh so Divine ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another great one. Fantastic voice. RIP
One of our best
thanks for the good times Crissy, love,d your shows.
R.I.P sweetheart.
She was Unique and a Wild Fire.. Very Talented and the Divinyl's Music is so good.. Great Video 💜
Thanks so much Cesar! 🥰
The film clip for I Touch Myself was banned here in Oz? Maybe from daytime video smash hits but not from Rage in the wee small hours! I was a 14 year old boy... I definitely saw it hahaha!
Rock on Chrissy, wherever you are! We miss you
Chrissy’s star shone bright..Amazing! 🌟💫✨❤
Forever an Icon 💜
Chrissy was the original Aussie wild child and lived here live to the fullest.
I got to see her in boy from Oz.
When she did her solo no one remained seated. Loved her then love her now. I knew one of the ensemble she said Chrissy was a character and just delightful.
lol, I'll never forget her stopping mid-song to yell 'Stop looking up my dress' to teenagers in the front at a gig in Ballarat.
Why does that not surprise me! 😅👍 She was one gutsy lady ❤️ Thanks for sharing your memory with us and for watching 🥰
thats pretty funny 🎉
I would have liked Bob Rock to produce any of the peak albums. This Canadian from Winnipeg is a fan of punk. He and his band The Payola$ worked with the late Mick Ronson in the early 1980s. Ronson died in 1993.
Getting Tom Kelly, Billy Steinberg and Holly Knight to co-write was on point! 🎯
RIP Mick Ronson and Christy Amphlett.
Thanks for the video. I always laugh when I hear drug use described as “experimenting”. I’m going to “experiment” with beer tonight. 😃🍺
So happy you enjoyed it thank you 🥰👍
Research.😅😅😅
Very sorely missed.R.I.P. Chrissy.
Met her at the Living Room in providence back in the 80's...very nice lady
That was interesting. Definitely going to check out their work. 👍
Thank you 🥰 You will enjoy their music it's really good 😃👍❤
Check out the earlier work..first!
Every time I think about her I TOUCH MYSELF.
She was a queen, awesome live. No one compares to Chrissy.
One of the many great rockers Australia have produced over the years.
RIP beautiful lady.❤
Chrissie was great. The Divinyls were a great live band. I saw the Divinyls at the Dee Why hotel in 198? something
It was a trans atlantic same as so called cousin little pat tie
Amazing girl. RIP
Way back when I never had a clue who the band was until I seen a video on Playboys Hot Rocks and thinking what a beautiful girl and the music was good RIP pretty woman 🙏✌
Gone way too soon. RIP Christine!!!
From the first time I heard and saw her, instant girl crush. I’m glad she didn’t “fix” her teeth. She had such an interesting and attractive face.
Caused a lot of wood left a lot of school boys smouldering 😮 ?
I had a huge crush on her when i saw her on MTV . Then she , like alot of other artists , seemed to disappear .
So many hits she is iconic!
I only ever heard the one song. It was a cheap shot at a hit as far as I'm concerned. Not a perticularly good song. It got attention just for the subject matter. What else did they do?
God, I loved her when I was a boy.
So pretty , so talented. 💔
Goddess!
Thank you for that . I came to them a bit later but they were dam good. ❤❤
Thanks for watching my friend, I appreciate you 🥰
I always thought their band name was a reference to vinyl, as in records.
I think it was a mixture of both tbh 😁👍
No one can hold a candle to Chrissy she had a demonic guttural sound like no other a beautiful and brave woman of rock us Aussies love and honour you and your contribution to Rick n roll RIP❤❤❤❤❤
there is an alley, err, laneway named for her in downtown melbourne. 🎉
I never considered The Divinyls to be hard rock. They were a little on the pop side for me, but I did like "Pleasure and Pain", so I bought the album. "Dear Diary" was weird enough that I enjoyed it. I didn't keep up with them after that. She had a beautiful voice. It's a shame that the cancer took her, but still better than alcohol or drugs.
She’s one of my hometown hero’s -Geelong 💙🤍
Its Divinyls omg
Great talent rip Chrissie
Shame she was a snob, ask anyone from Diagular.
Pigs
Amyl and the Sniffers took Chrissie's image and the Cosmic Psychos yobbo aesthetic.
Oh shit !
Thankyou for your presentation
However this is not new to an old fan 🪭
