Nah, what it lacks is in-game coms. I hate having to play with mobile players because then they can't mute in discord. If the coms were in-game, players wouldnt have to manage them on their end, it would be done automatically. I will admit new game modes would be nice, but if you got no one to play with, there is no game. Best to fix the default b4 you polish a turd.

With PC players, they don't need to exit out of the app, they can setup a quick hotkey. PC players are just generally more reliable because they are more experienced with tech. If the game itself forced the muting and unmuting system, they would be forced to play the correct way by the devs own standards. Plus, if the mic was in-game, that would give them options like proximity chat where you could whisper to someone if you were standing right on top of them and ONLY when that close to them. If the devs did want to go this route, this would give the game so much more strategy and opportunity to get sussed. They can't do those kind of mechanics though if they rely on someone else's programs to complete the games mechanics for them. Though, proximity whispers would be more classified as additive content rather than necessary fixes.
I like how everyone shouts the location of the zombie but Ohm is just "Don't go there! Don't go there!" like yo please tell us where the zombie is or ran off quietly when he saw the zombies

The game mode might be better if it kept track of how many tasks players managed to do before getting changed, and the goal was to average the maximum number of successful tasks per game as crew. That would give players an incentive to do tasks while human, but to prevent other humans from doing tasks if they get zombified. Alternatively, one could specify that if a player gets killed their tasks can never get done, but a task victory would only require 50% task completion [that could be combined with the task completion stat to encourage players to get tasks done faster than other players].
For the zombie mode I kinda wish emergancy meeting button = 1 use only task recycle. This way, if zombies are camping your last task or your task is something long like a download, you can swap it out for a random different task. I also wish suvivers could vent but can only stay in vents for a max of 7 seconds and has a vent cooldown of like 45 seconds. And maybe a walk speed boost that last 2 seconds that make you run faster but has a 60 second cooldown. Right now, players don't have enough defensive moves and counter messures, even with the the low vision. It just isnt fun where only like 2 have a chance of surviving, if any.
I think this is what Among Us lacks at the moment: Diversity in their game mode. Hopefully they make this official.
