And it's not an accent, it's how she actually choses to speak. She's not putting on an act for Hololive, apparently she just decided speaking that way was cute, and always has talked like that since. And this video is sorta funny, because she's bragging she can speak normally, but when she's asked to speak normally, she sorta just slows down how she talks, and speaks louder. it doesn't really sound normal at all. imagine an english speaker who "spweekswikeawiddlekid" suddenly slowing down their speaking and just gets louder and still pronounces it "spweeks wike a widdle kid", no one would find that "adult" like. which is why they're all laughing. it's also why all the jp call banchou a baby. and why no one takes her "tough delinquent" leader persona seriously. it's also why Banchou's dancing is such a strong gap-moe hit. she's an outstanding dancer with some seriously adult/sexy movement, coming from a silly holobaby is just pow!
Hajimes ability to speak the language of dababy is one of the best parts about her. I just love how she confuses herself as well as the JP bros at times.

This issue is especially problematic with Kansai folks who speaks Kansai-ben, that they just can't feel comfortable speaking Tokyo Japanese. I think Hajime is the same way with her unique way of speech.
Its not a dialect. She simply doesn't speak Japanese properly.... You could speak to 100,000 people and all of them would speak more clearly than her. There is no shot this is her normal voice since she wouldn't be able to function in Japan... I suspect more people in Japan can understand English than Hajime.

Imma be honest, i want them to be as natural as they normally are. Yes, they are a 'character' but that part is already done by using an avatar. Just be yourself as much as possible. If that is babu speak for Hajime, then that's what it is and we love her for it.

Hajime sort of sounds like she has a speech impairment, because even when she went into business mode that "desu" at the end had a slight lisping to it and it sounded a bit forced. Also would make sense why she feels more neutral and comfortable talking like this.
I feel like Hajime's style of speaking is like the JP equivalent of XQC and how he talks, it's understandable but you need to tune your ears to it and you learn to get used to it after a while (I assume, idk Japanese). They both probably talk like this because it's more natural, but they can speak normal when needed which is understandable. Doesn't mean people won't make fun of it though lol
