  • This is a really good notebook, it's pages are magnificent. The grid and dates allow for super flexibility with whatever purpose you choose for this great notebook. As you'll see in the video it performs quite well under my pen stress test.
Let me know in the comments any other notebooks you'd like to see me review. Also let me know what your idea notebook would be like.
Thanks for watching, have an amazing day!

Was really good to see a review on the notebook as you don’t see many of these around. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it and testing out different pens to show it’s weight and best use. X

I understood Fude to be pronounced foo-deh. People use the stalogy as a switch out for a Hobonichi as the paper is a bit thicker than the Hobonichi, not as smooth/coated (so ink dries faster) but in other ways quite similar. Some folks, however, liken it more to the Rhodia paper (another notebook you might like). Bullet journal folks really like this notebook. ~Leigh

Thanks heaps for the info. I use a rhodia as my main omni journal 😁 TFW

I would like to see an A5 soft leather cover 400 - 600 pages Tomoe River 52g paper and Midori style binding (allowing to open flat). That would be my dream notbebook to carry around all year long.

Nice notebook! I wonder how it will work with a fountain pen.

The calligraphy pen should be pretty close, same amount of ink distribution. I do need to get a fountain pen for my collection 😁 TFW

It works exquisitely well. I'm using a Pilot Metropolitan and a Pilot Kakuno. As expected with such thin pages there is of course some ghost through. Out of curiousity I even tried some watercolours and the paper behaved remarkably well.

That's excellent to hear! I was going to do some watercolour as part of my tests but thought the paper would be too thin. TFW 😁

I would love to find a nice fat A5 or A6 with white 68gsm Tomoe River paper an a square-grid pattern. My current favorites (have been for a couple of years) are the Enigma and Breeze notebooks sold by Taroko Design. They have dot grid paper, not squared, but I've been able to work with it. I tried Stalogy a couple of weeks ago and found I could barely see the grid lines, and that once a spread was inked, if it contained boxes, horizontal lines, or vertical lines, the degree of ghosting made it even harder to see the grid lines on the next page. 😢
