This is just one of the reasons why it's great to be a Badger and why Madison is the place to be, and be a part of ... when you have a police chief and a police department that works with the campus and the students in a positive partnership, performs at the level of excellence they do and keeps doing the incredibly amazing job they do, year after year, yet still have fun, THAT'S what it's all about! Keep it up UW-Madison Police ! And Chief Sue, you got a future in music videos for sure!
I loved it, I wish that this was the mentality of all PD's! LOVED it and the woman dancing on the football field was having FAR too much fun with this (loved the flying around the logo). I think it will greatly open up lines of communication between the students and PD, and that is what it is all about. GREAT job!
Great job showing that we are humans too! Wish we had done this at Glendale PD, CA! Your video has gone viral. You could not have paid for this much advertising if you had used your whole budget! This really put you on the map!
In Glendale you could have used all the footage of you assholes beating people. Come on...CA police are INFAMOUS worldwide for beating the hell out of people..Ask Kelley Thomas or that black lady on the Highway last week..
steelbreeze420 The black lady on the highway that kept trying to shove the officer away, then when he started punching her she put her hands down and gave up? Oh.
steelbreeze420 Bullshit? It's in the video, so you can look for yourself lol. Not really bullshit And what? "Grown men beating gold women" That makes no sense.
How? Please tell me how that is a waste of taxpayer's money? When this video was made it was when they were on breaks, or when nothing was needing done. They danced for about 10 secs when they were actually doing a patrol. Not once did they use police resources, which means they didn't use any money to make the video.
Robert Tomlin Apparently you don't know you're law very well Copyfraud: Copyright Claims On CDs Say It's Infringement To Loan Your CD To A Friend from the copyfraud-and-sons dept We've talked a lot about the concept of "copyfraud," the increasingly common activity of copyright holders claiming more rights than copyright allows. It happens all the time, but sometimes it's really egregious. Wired is reporting on how the super popular band Mumford & Sons CD, Babel includes a copyright warning label that says it's infringement to lend the CD to anyone: “The copyright in this sound recording and artwork is owned by Mumford & Sons. Warning: all rights reserved. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, hiring, lending, public performance and broadcasting prohibited.” You can see a scan of the back of the CD here, which includes the warning on the left:

Can someone tell me why anyone thought this was a good idea? Why the Chief (And I use that term loosely) thought she should be the star of this? And who authorized the funds to pay the employees to dance not to mention all the production people and time? So many things I am leaving left unsaid but for those of you who feel this is justified because of some sort of public relations promotion don't you think the time and money would have been better spent focusing on teaching crime prevention or better yet how to save yourself from an active shooter event?
Uummm...production value? They literally took a camera and just filmed people dancing and this was all for fun. As for time...it doesn't take a lot out to dance for a couple seconds and have a good time.
Who said anything about production value? Are you reading something that isn't there? My question may be related to "Where is the value of this"? And I still wonder that...
+balddonnie Although it seems illogical, the value is that when people see stuff like this, it begins to break down barriers between the department and the public, and has an impact on positive interaction. The only person actually on paid time for these things is the PAO, and that's because public relations is their job.
+balddonnie The PAO, and in this case a few desk workers and dispatchers who are taking 8 seconds to clap, rather. Even if all of them were on paid time, the time each officer appears in these clips is insignificant and pulling them off the streets for extra training on top of the already weekly in-service trainings would not only cost much more (now you're paying for the training and the PAO to not do anything), but you have officers off the street and unable to police proactively. Policing a community who interacts with officers on more than a 'worst case scenario' basis is vastly more effective, because if the only time you ever see police is when something bad is happening, the presence of police begins to make the public uncomfortable. Hopefully that helps answer your question, I realize my last comment wasn't much help.

I knew when I was gonna scroll down to the comments I knew I was gonna find someone say this shit I really don't get how is it a waste of a taxpayer's money they are all humans like us they could of been off duty or on there break when they were doing this video I don't know the fuck your being your ignorant.

What about the thousands of other videos that are using the song? Oh wait, you didn't post on this. What about the songs that are ACTUALLY copyrighted and when you put them on a RUclips video, it gets taken down in the processing step of upload. Stop trying to act like you know what you're talking about Jace, because you're making yourself look stupid. Go to Harvard, actually learn your law and then try to sue them then if you still think it's copyright infringement.

Do you even have permission to use this song or are you above the law?
You need to read the copyright laws... geez

Where’s the lip syncing ? Great dancing but it’s a lip sync competition
This was uploaded in 2014, long before the Lipsync battle.
Thank you

Yes, I'm sure they spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars in taxpayers money paying for a video that a 3rd grader could make.
