Randy is a fantastic guitarist in his own right and he does a excellant Hendrix impresonation. The first time I seen him play his act I was greatly impressed. He really gives his all into coveing Hendrix tunes, this is why it`s so good. Rock on Randy.
I think many have lost the fact that he is a tribute band. He is meant to sound and look like Jimi. Stop bloody commenting saying he is un original or is a poser or ripping off Jimi. This is what he does as a job. What do you do? I think it is bloody great that he is keeping the experience going.
Oh, this is so beautiful I don't know what to do with myself. Can only worship it. Thank you Randy Hansen and all the amazing musicians who play with you, thank you.
WTF does his looks have to do with his skill ?? Not a darn thing !!! Randy is an amazing musician and a great person.....one of the nicest dudes I've ever met !!!
***** Your comment is insult, but not a rebuttal. I am 6 years younger than Jimi would have been if he'd lived. I was listening to Hendrix when both you parents were probably still crapping their Huggies: so as the expert here------------I say Randy's great. . Slither back under your rock troll.
Man I've been studying Hendrix's music for 25 years and this good has got it nailed! i Close my eyes and listen to the guitar and I really can't tell the difference. this dude has got the spirit!
Saw Randy Hansen (front row) in 1979 in Phoenix, Az. doing his Tribute to Jimmy show. I've seen a lot of concerts in my 60 years but this one show was the finest single show I have ever seen. I was AMAZED.
Remarkable.I saw him at the first rock conert I ever attended in about 1976. Whatever the speedway in Portland is called . Bob Welch , Little River Band , Heart , and Randy Hanson!! My first concert and perhaps the best! Then , in the eighties I saw him at a club in Portland . He stood on MY table and picked out "hey joe " with his teeth ! No shit ., I saw it from 30 inches away !
I live in Seattle, where Randy is, and believe me, this man is so, so great, as is the band. One of the few Hendrix imitators who is approved by Jimi's family.
I got to hang with Randy one night after a show in S.F. My friend was playing bass with the band. Great show. Randy is an awesome artist not only on guitar but on the page as well.
Seen him live in Germany many years ago. One of the best concerts I have ever witnessed. So awesome to hear Jimi's music played live the way Jimi would have played it. Randy is one of the greatest. God bless you Randy!!!
I saw him too in Belgium years ago for an "Hendrix tribute" with some other guitar players like Uli Roth, original lead by the Scorpions. He was simply amazing & sometimes he was Hendrix impersonation. He was the best at this event. He his also funny on stage. Great guy!!
seen many Hendrix interpretations, this one is best. he have this relaxed effortless attitude that Jimi had and he is actually not immitating Jimi, he really is similar to him he is naturally like that and he also play really good, now I see why so many likes you cannot fool people, for example Steve Vai is really good guitarist technically one of very best in the world as is Joe Satriani, I saw them both live and they both kick ass, but still Hansen is playing Hendrix much better than both of them, to be good technically is just one of many aspects for good musician and Jimi Hendrix had them all, Hansen have also many skills ! To be good technically does not mean you can play really fast like shredders does, this is just one style and honestly this style is quickly dying out cause you get so quickly bored listening those fast notes, much more people will appreciate if you can play good technically blues or blues/rock or hard rock, bands like Led Zeppelin have much more value in terms of what is good rock guitar playing than those shredding technical metal, noeclassical etc..if you shred good couple of geeks, nerds will listen to you, but if you play well style of Jimmy Page or Hendrix crowd will listen to you, plus you will get many one night stands ! Those technical players is cool to listen for some fast driving for cca 15 minutes and then enough, you need that old rock and blues with a soul where every note get into your soul, those couple notes from BB King have much much more value then 1000s of shred notes in one minute.. and Jimi Hendrix is cream of the best ! To conclude Hansen is fantastic guitarist cause he came closest to feel of Jimi
I saw Randy play last weekend at the tulalip casino. What an amazing show, all I heard were people commenting on how amazing he was on the guitar with the solo's.
I ve seen Randy Hansen for 3 times in my live (last time one month ago his first gig of his european tour) Randy Hansen is really an awesome guitarplayer and i never heard anyone that comes such near to the original playing of Jimi.
+Fell Wanderer Ye and allot of it is becuase he turned his guitarupside down so thesound from the pickups would be the same as jimi and also he's immitating hendrix voice really well and of course playing well
excellent interpretation of Jimis masterpiece. this is a revelation for me, I've never heard of this man, but I will search for him from now on ! ps. thanks for the vid. !
Jesus.... He is a TRIBUTE ACT ... He will have made more money in a year being that good than he would have in ten doing his own thing... tribute acts of THAT quality get a LOT of money. And as for his ability, absolutely great guitarist playing from the heart , absolutely no doubt, plays Hendrix better than anyone else I've ever heard for sure
thanks for all your tributes, they are awesome. Sometime i believe in it. You make jimi being still there for a few moments, time to time, it really pleasant. thanks for your efforts and for your passion :-)
Probably the most asinine comments in this section I have ever seen. People do realize Randy plays professionally and was asked to finish Jimi’s albums after he passed. He also tours playing Jimi’s music. For all the Hendrix fans out there, Jimi would never approve of anyone making such crude remarks about a fellow musician. SMH
Yeah man, I'm going to see Randy's show on the 1st of may this year! I'm a guitar player and a big Hendrix fan myself, and Randy totaly nails it.... When it comes to playing Hendrix live, Randy is the best! And than there is his voice, its almost spooky. See you soon Randy.... Peace
:-o it's like he's channeling hendrix. at first it was like yeah another person playing hendrix but then the vocals and dang. I'm not much into tribute bands, but now I've got to see this guy.
Real rock and roll ain't about being pretty. It's about dirt and sweat and heart. MTV dragged the spirit of rock into the landfill. Thank God there are people like Randy Hansen, working his ass off to rescue real rock music. If you didn't know, Randy is the guy that tracked the incidental guitar music for the film Apocalypse Now. He's a monster and a hell of a nice guy. Another guy like Randy is Unknown Hinson. Check him out too!
Many years ago I saw Randy Hansen do Jimi Hendrix with makeup at the Roxy in Hollywood. It was an exceptional performance , it felt like I was watching Jimi play. It was supremely realistic!!! Since then I have never seen him do a performance with make up again, not sure why because the make up added a strong sense of realism. I've seen him without the make up and it just was not as magical! no doubt RH is a gifted and talented performer, but if he is doing an impersonation the makeup would take it to another level
Randy Hansen is right handed but he plays guitar setup for left handed player. That means ,he mimics string setup used by Hendrix (left handed playing guitar setup for right handed player). It could be one of the reasons that Randy can mimic Hendrix so closely ( along with Randy Hansen great skills ).
When it comes to tribute artists I'm sort of ambivalent. Whether it's emulating the Rat Pack in Vegas or the latest version of Beatlemania, I find myself asking "What's the point?" But once in awhile someone comes along who's so good at it that you have to take notice. This guy absolutely NAILS it! Obviously a great guitarist in his own right, he's a wonder to behold. Good job!
b/c you don't know or havnt listened for as long as my generation. , he is clearly sounding (like) jimi in ways but in his own way , which is good, we don't wan't complete copy cats
Randy Hanson in my opinion, is the only one that does Hendrix justice. He's a great player and he really captures Hendrix's vibe. He even looks a little like him at a glance. Again, just my opinion.
@dcross412 Jimi was left handed and played a right handed guitar strung in reverse and flipped. Fender even made a Hendrix edition that was upside down.
Randy is playing today: Saturday, September 18 NOON - 6:00 pm Randy Hansen Live Jimi Hendrix 40th Anniversary Memorial Benefit Concert Jimi Hendrix Park: 2300 South Massachusetts Street, Seattle, WA. 98144

Simply the best in the world

FANTASTIC.
Thank you for the real nice shout out.
Always Peace,
Randy
The only guy who can give u the Jimi Hendrix experience
Attila Márta Check out Stan Skibby Band of Gypsies.
@@colinmcnab6145 Stan is nowhere near as good as Randy. Randy just has something extra. Something magical about him, which Stan is clearly lacking.
Thats right, the only guy
Oh, this is so beautiful I don't know what to do with myself. Can only worship it. Thank you Randy Hansen and all the amazing musicians who play with you, thank you.
As a hendrix fan and guitarist who plays his stuff this is pretty dam good!!!
Got to see Randy Hansen live and up close many times back in the 80's in small clubs. Great player and showman.
Too good for words!!!...May God bless U Randy...
This guy is the best tribute band I've ever seen
WTF does his looks have to do with his skill ?? Not a darn thing !!! Randy is an amazing musician and a great person.....one of the nicest dudes I've ever met !!!

Jesus! Beautiful everything! Sound, song, lights, camera work, guitar color. Thanks again Randy. Great Vibes!
this boy can play...
That low camera angle is brutal! "You gonna learn today!"

Many props. I saw Randy Hansen live (as Jimi)... it is flat out AMAZING how much like Hendrix he plays. Superb.

Randy Hansen IS Hendrix incarnate. Just mindblowing!
I got to hang with Randy one night after a show in S.F. My friend was playing bass with the band. Great show. Randy is an awesome artist not only on guitar but on the page as well.
Hey this guys really good.enjoyed his idea of hey Joe.
Pure talent.....much respect carrying on music from one of the two best guitarists to ever walk earth.
@Martin G Most certainly Stevie Ray Vaughan my friend
Seen him live in Germany many years ago. One of the best concerts I have ever witnessed. So awesome to hear Jimi's music played live the way Jimi would have played it. Randy is one of the greatest. God bless you Randy!!!
Wooow !!! es el único de todos los cantantes que he escuchado interpretar esta canción que lo hace como Hendrix!!!!.. este músico es genial!!!
This performance gives me chills. Keep on rock'n
I got to see this guy play at Blues Central in Anchorage, Alaska . He is absolutely amazing to see in person. He had all of Jimis moves.
the only one who can play jimi in the earth! I saw him live some years ago... amazing!
I saw him too in Belgium years ago for an "Hendrix tribute" with some other guitar players like Uli Roth, original lead by the Scorpions.
He was simply amazing & sometimes he was Hendrix impersonation. He was the best at this event. He his also funny on stage. Great guy!!
This guy is almost Jimi righthanded.
one of the finest guitarists ever, so appreciative that he continued where Jimi left off...kudos to Randy
I opened for this guy a couple of times back in the 80's. The last time Mitch Mitchell was his drummer.
Thanks for being so Jimi Randy! Nobody does it better other than Jimi himself!
randy is so electric. .damn he's great keepin that spirit goin
raw and soulful, great cover
Randy is amazing, very authentic, even down to the point of stuffing a pair of socks down the front of his trousers! :D
Más intérpretes como Randy para recordar a Jimi! Muy buena versión!!
Estooooooo es una joyaaaa un gran tributoooooo
Fantasticoooooo ¡¡¡¡¡¡
A most respectful and spirit encompassing cover , Randy `Rocks ' !!!

Zoran Ramzo Kamenycky Agree 100%. What’s the use in “shredding” and playing a bunch of notes it it doesn’t achieve this level of feeling and tone?
Zoran Ramzo Kamenycky I hear ya bro. As B.B. said it’s the notes u don’t play that really make it groove
Exatamente. Ele é único. Ele não "imita" Jumi hendrix. Ele é Jimi Hendrix!! Rsrsrs...
I saw Randy play last weekend at the tulalip casino. What an amazing show, all I heard were people commenting on how amazing he was on the guitar with the solo's.
Good, really good. I know there are many many many millions who do not like this. But that was great. Try to play like he does. Very good.

Its uncanny how much Randy sounds like Jimi and plays extremely well

I really love to see copy bands, that go all the way with everything. :-) Top performance :-)
