Even though I’m a veteran crocheter, I couldn’t get my cylinder/stem to turn out like yours . I finally quit snd crocheted a small brown rectangle , just eyeballed it . When it looked about the size I wanted , I whip stitched the sides together and one of the ends , put a little fiberfill in it . Ta dah ! Worked for me . Don’t be afraid to try something else , there’s often more than one way to do something !

I started this, but used a size 5 yarn that calls for a K hook and it turned out hilariously big. I love it 😂💕
