I love anything with Astarion and I am so happy with the changes they made to facial animations. And I feel like the Gur was 100% a message, rather than an actual threat. And are you going to livestream Cyberpunk?!
The animations are so spot on - I love how emotive he is now! As for livestreaming - one of these days maybe I'll consider it. But as for now I get interrupted a lot, so I figure it would be pretty boring for people. I'll definitely keep footage of the gameplay though!
One of my favorite interactions in the game is when Astarion talks about how he had a bad run-in with a Gur previously. I didn't see it coming when he stabbed this dude right in the eye My PC's response was "That bad, huh?" I was laughing about that for a bit
I LOVE the look - hence why I made it the video's thumbnail xD Re: Cybperpunk: I've been hearing a lot of rumors that the game is buggy as hell, but I usually try to avoid spoiling new games too much - figuring I'll just check it out for myself and decide how I feel about it.
I'm genuinely sorry for this guy. The internet has filed him as a bad monster hunter for not recognizing a vampire spawn standing before him, but to be fair, it is daylight (which is much more perceptible in this video than in the ones where the swamp illusion is not already lifted), and I don't think he expects any kind of vampire thingy appearing before him during the day. He is just doing his job, but unfortunately, I'm not giving up my No. 1. vampire bed "warmer", lol
Dawww - it's not going to be that long of a break - Like a true corpo servant, I'm already working on a script for a runthrough of my impressions on cyberpunk.. It's like I can't help but work..even when I'm supposed to be playing! xD
I remember someone from Tumblr actually translated the scar on his back and in infernal it stated somewhat to a "don't buy" or like this slave isn't useful till dead. Idk the actual translation but I could try to find the post if you want :D
I love this game so much 😩👌🏻 this is hands down going to be the best RPG I will have ever had the pleasure of experiencing 🥰🥰🥰 Astarion will always be bae
@MMOGurl Do you play the tabletop of D&D 5e? I do and I can tell you Astarion isn't kidding when he says they are TOUGH! I think 6 level 3 adventurers would pretty much be cake for him IMO. Also, you played Battletech? WoW! I used to play the tabletop many years ago..Good Times! :)
Yeah, I have a DND campaign I joined that I'm taking a break from right now because I've not had time to run two games. When I was still playing though, we fought a young dragon which was god awful, but haven't run into a vampire lord yet! And yes! I still play Battletech now - my hub and I are kind of obsessed with it (he's the one who got me into it). We play a campaign on Friday - it's been long going for over 3 years now! We also have a lot of the tabletop stuff and figures.. Big stompy robot nerds here xD Nice to see another! :)
This poor Gur needs an insight check to catch on to my two favourite assholes playing with Astarion's food. The whole inside joke situation though is my favourite piece of dialogue so far.
This was also very interesting when I played this patch 4 and Astarion had not yet revealed of being a vampire. Cause he had not done it the Gur did not say his name which was a nice touch to keep it as a surprise though you can still see Astarion tensing up and if you let him kill him he will just do the deed no actual attack scene and then he will kinda lie to you and says that he killed him to keep you guys safe.
This scene really has me thinking. My theory is Astarion was in kahoots with Cazador when he was a magistrate by declaring honest to good people guilty of bullshit crimes and handing them over for chow time. That's how he wronged the Gur that attacked him over 200 years ago and why Cazador was willing to turn him to keep him around to torment.
I'm betting it was probably a law that was something along the lines of - the Gur couldn't do something or go somewhere - and they didn't take kindly to it. I don't know if I think they were in cahoots - because he doesn't say anything about knowing him previously. But then again, he doesn't say he didn't know hime ither.
Just letting you know that someone on reddit translated the poem from the Infernal Alphabet in the official DnD books / Avernus Campaign. Hoyc inferiu non iurare per igneu Naec virba loquor Eoai mundo muoat Which when interpreted through latin roughly translates to: This soul swears no oath by fire Nor words does he speak In the realm of death
Sweet. I love new content. I need distractions. You live stream? Edit: the changes are really good. It adds a lot of depth and brings the character to life.
I don't livestream - no - although it would have been nice for cyberpunk's launch, huh? Mostly, the issue with why I don't is twofold - 1) I get interrupted by kids a lot and the biggest problem 2) my comp room isn't really quiet. Computer and central air hums and so I usually fix my audio to get rid of it. Occasionally you can hear kids yelling down the hall too xD I will look into it one of these days though. It might be fun - although you guys would hear me swear a lot more than I do now.. that's for sure! Hahah
@@Mmogurl being a father myself I understand what you are talking about. But to be honest everything you listed sounded like challenge or a joy for me. Most real games today are older with families and I would never subtract that from content. If you ever do decide to stream, we will be here.
caza being a vampire lord would have a cr around 13 which means its a medium difficulty fight with 4 pc at lvl 13, so rn at lvl 4 he would absolutely destroy the party
This is also interesting because on my second playthrough, my PC and Astarion had lower approval and he does not go into why Cazador would send a gur. He simply says something like "they make excellent monster hunters...no special reason"
Astarion makes the funniest face when you tell the Gur that the Spawn he's searching is right there. It's like "?? WHAT?" Check it out sometime, it's great.
I mean, if it is a bomb or hell portal, can we just make one extra scratch lol. It would hurt, but it'd totally mess up the spell or whatever right? Though I suppose it'd be protected against that somehow.
I also have no idea if it's intentional or not, but I'm going to pretend it is. I like how as soon as Gandrel mentions that he's a monster hunter, Astarion moves right next to your MC. It could be because he's immediately preparing to go on defensive mode and isn't actually worried until he mentions it's Astarion he's hunting or maybe he's kind of thinking he's got to protect you too if Gandrel finds out you guys have the mindflayer parasite. Or maybe it's just the character models XD
KEK, I think I just directed the Gur towards my camp (where Astarion was) in my 1-st playthrough. In my 2-nd playthrough I wanted to see what will happen if Astarion was in my party, but I suppose I approached him before knowing that Astarion was a vampire, so I couldn't really turn him in. I am curious what will happen if you betray Astarion while he's with you tho :P
I can honestly understand why he's so reluctant to believe you when you say he's safe with the group. In BG II, some of the toughest fights I had in the first half came from full-fledged vampires. Even at lvl 10 or 11 my party was getting destroyed. Between Vampiric Touch draining your character level and their immunity to magic weapons below +2, just... OOF! Honestly just makes me feel genuinely bad for him.
Gandril seems like such a legit decent dude though. And you can forgive him being a bit slow on the uptake. He had no cause to ever imagine he'd run into a Vampire in broad daylight. Especially in a swamp with so much water around. Water is like mild Acid to Vampires in this Setting. I usually spare him, in the hopes that in later versions of the game we might have a chance to have further interesting encounters with him. Also, did you know you can actually sell Astarion out to Gandril if you have this meeting without Astarion in your party. Shadowheart even calls you out on it right then and there, not that she really seems that upset about it.
hey, thanks for the video! I don't know if someone told you yet, but as far as I know you can try to read the poem on Astarion's back if you're playing a tiefling character. dunno if that's true, but I wanna check by myself asap. upd: I had a bilingual panic while taking a shower because of this comment lol. I understood you too well and forgot you were speaking eng so I thought you were speaking my first language, so I thought I wrote an eng-language comment on a video in my first language. I forget such things quite often and @_@
Haha! What is your other language? And congrats on understanding all of that English! I'm told I speak pretty clearly and concisely... or at least I try to. I remember in school, the teachers always called on me to read out of the text book - probably for the same reason! So that probably helps you to understand! I'm working on learning Japanese, but I've got a long way to go.. so kudos to you for making it so far! :D

Thanks to my Dragon Age obsession.....I am now DETERMINED to learn everything I can about this game, and hope it comes to console someday All because of Mr Silk Voice white hair here
give Astarion the amulet of speaking to the dead and let him interrogate Gandrel, and he will know a bit more about who sent him. though i did it after i talked to Astarion, wonder if he'll say someting else if you talk to gandrel's corpse first and talk to Astarion after
In my first run I couldn't trigger the fight because I felt bad about saying Astarion was only a spawn and not a real vampire and I thought that was kind of mean but then I would be like wait I thought I was supposed to kill him so I attacked him out of the dialogue, but if you do that he doesn't fight back and just tries to run away and call for help so I ended up chasing him all over the swamp trying to eldritch blast him (not in turn-based mode) and then nothing happened when I cornered him and killed him lol
There was this thread on reddit a while back where someone translated the seal and made some speculations regarding Astarion's brand if you peeps are interested www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/jfnymv/spoilers_so_i_transcribed_and_analyzed_cazadors/
If you talk to Gandrel before finding out that Astarion is a vampire, Astarion may stab him through the eye. Surprisingly the monster hunter's corpse will talk to you and tells you he's a vampire. Brings up alternative dialogue options. After the first conversation with him afterward, talk to him again about Cazador the 'slaver' and he gets a little bit hissy.
I wouldn't be too critical about the Gur not picking it up. After all everyone knows that vampires and vampire spawn become crispy critters when exposed to the sun.
"I think we'd have a pretty good chance of killing cazador, if he ever did show up and try to take astarion back, you know?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. at higher level, maybe. at say level 4? you would all die. horribly.
Romani. G*psy is a slur Edit: I know I am spoiling everything for myself in this game but I am too impatient. And I love love being able to see the way the scenes and technical things being polished bit by bit.
i feel so bad for this sweet baby like this guy is going through what Fenris was; bad break-up and folks just arent taking the hint they way he said "he wants me back" tho =///////////=
Hey please don't say gypsy, it's an offensive term for Romani people. Otherwise great vid! I really love what they did with Astarion's expressions in the patch and the look he and the pc give each other kills me every time XD
Was reading it right from the wiki: "Described as "gypsylike",[12] the Gurs are inspired by the Roma people during Europe's Middle Ages when they were called Gypsies,[8] which is a contraction of 'Egyptian'." I've certainly never considered the word derogatory myself or meant any ill will by using it. As for the scene, I really do love the look they exchange as well. You'd think poor Gandrel would pick up on their clues, but nope!
As much as I love this, I have to disagree on Astarion overreacting. He is well justified to be TERRIFIED of a Vampire Lord, considering the D&D 5e Statblocks where a Vampire Lord has a Challenge Rating of 26 vs. a Vampire Spawn with CR 5...
Hey so 'Gypsie' is a slur. I want to be clear that I'm sure you weren't doing it on purpose but you're better off calling them Romani People or Roma People.
That spell on Astarions back is probably good for letting a vampire hunt in the sun. Doubt the mindwormythingy is dooing that. Gut feeling tells me this might not be Astarion at all.
Astarion has said to the PC that being able to go out in the sun is a brand new thing though, that only started after getting the tadpole in his head. And in the old gameplay demo where the devs played as Astarion he even has a line about the sun not burning him when he wakes up on the beach
The hunter is meant be a feeble floozy. His employer is toying with Astarion in a game of cat and mouse. Astarion is supposed to cut down these lackeys until he feels safe. When his guard drops the real trap is sprung.
I think I found Gandrel on my very first plathrough while Astarion was at camp.. I didn't kill him and just found out he was looking for a spawn. There was a dialogue to ask Astarion about it when I returned to camp, but I'm having trouble remembering exactly what he said. I'll have to try it out again on another playthrough.
Gandrel: That's Astarion? Impossible Astarion: These days, I'm making the impossible look easy. (To MC) May I? and then you can decide if Gandrel dies or not.
"You can't hold their entire people responsible for what happened to you, Astarion." "Actually, I can and will." tfw Astarion is racist against the setting's equivalent of gypsies
i cant wait to annihilate Cazador for Astarion and become a vampire and live and love forever 😍. Even if i wasnt in love with Astarion id still kill Cazador because fuck abusers, i dont care if hes a vampire imma shoot garlic at him and dunk em in holy water. plus he has the same name as those annoying bugs from fallout new vegas, probably related.
Don't use the g-word to describe Roma people. It is a slur and has a racist history. the only people who can use it and if they want to, reclaim it, is Roma ppl themselves. Similar to how the only people that can use / reclaim the n-word is Black people.

The animations are so spot on - I love how emotive he is now! As for livestreaming - one of these days maybe I'll consider it. But as for now I get interrupted a lot, so I figure it would be pretty boring for people. I'll definitely keep footage of the gameplay though!
I almost wish my Ranger would fail the nature check to discern the illusion on the swamp even once, the scenery and lighting is so beautiful
I actually ignore that check every time because the sunlit wetlands is soooo much prettier than the decrepit bog.. ugh.
The expressions and gestures are some of the best i’ve seen in gaming and its still early access.
It makes the characters feel real and alive, damn.
One of my favorite interactions in the game is when Astarion talks about how he had a bad run-in with a Gur previously.
I didn't see it coming when he stabbed this dude right in the eye
My PC's response was "That bad, huh?"
I was laughing about that for a bit
Astarion's smirk at 5:50 made me weak. Also, excited to see some Cyberpunk content. (*≧∀≦*)
She got that Astarian fever
I'm genuinely sorry for this guy. The internet has filed him as a bad monster hunter for not recognizing a vampire spawn standing before him, but to be fair, it is daylight (which is much more perceptible in this video than in the ones where the swamp illusion is not already lifted), and I don't think he expects any kind of vampire thingy appearing before him during the day. He is just doing his job, but unfortunately, I'm not giving up my No. 1. vampire bed "warmer", lol
I just love the little looks he shoots you! XD "You cheeky little..!" Astarion is my favorite, hands down.
Thanks for posting! I loved the silent communication in the new scene 😍 I'm gonna miss you when you go on your break :(
Dawww - it's not going to be that long of a break - Like a true corpo servant, I'm already working on a script for a runthrough of my impressions on cyberpunk..
Yeah man - that sounds pretty cool. And it would be much better if it was just an insult versus a spell!
I love your analyses!
I love this game so much 😩👌🏻 this is hands down going to be the best RPG I will have ever had the pleasure of experiencing 🥰🥰🥰 Astarion will always be bae
It is definitely shaping up to be that's for sure!
Wow, this is brilliant. A scene that I adored already and it's so much better now! Can't wait to see how they clean up Lae'zel's scenes with her ppl.
@@Mmogurl My party are on our way to take our a Vampire Lord Necromancer and I can tell you... I am not looking forward to that fight xD
you have a great voice, for those of us watching this on phones you should read the players respones as you click on them. just a suggestion :)
This poor Gur needs an insight check to catch on to my two favourite assholes playing with Astarion's food.
The whole inside joke situation though is my favourite piece of dialogue so far.
11:03 bright and sunny lol
This was also very interesting when I played this patch 4 and Astarion had not yet revealed of being a vampire. Cause he had not done it the Gur did not say his name which was a nice touch to keep it as a surprise though you can still see Astarion tensing up and if you let him kill him he will just do the deed no actual attack scene and then he will kinda lie to you and says that he killed him to keep you guys safe.
Am I the only one noticing that Astarion has some black strands in his hair?👀
Maybe thats his ”real” hair color but vampirism changed it?
Oooo Astarion with black hair also sounds pretty good o_o
I noticed.
Astarion: "5:49"
Me: 👰💒
This scene really has me thinking.
@@Mmogurl yea if he was that injured why would a vampire not just drain him it's super sus idk maybe the gur are employed by vampires
Just letting you know that someone on reddit translated the poem from the Infernal Alphabet in the official DnD books / Avernus Campaign.
Hoyc inferiu non iurare per igneu
Naec virba loquor
Eoai mundo muoat
Which when interpreted through latin roughly translates to:
This soul swears no oath by fire
Nor words does he speak
In the realm of death
Thanks for the heads up!
I think you should play Curse of Strahd and get a feel for what a vampire lord can do.
He is dense. He wants to make a deal with a hag to find a vampire SPAWN.
New scene looks great. Gotta say though, I just think the back scar is a poem, just like he says it is.
If you ever do decide to stream, we will be here.
i never played the EA but sideeye he gives the player when his name is dropped is hilarious
caza being a vampire lord would have a cr around 13 which means its a medium difficulty fight with 4 pc at lvl 13, so rn at lvl 4 he would absolutely destroy the party
why do i feel like ive heard the "kill ... on site" line before
I've never known Gur were a thing, 5e never brought it up at all. I thought the only folk to fit that bill was the vistani in Curse of Strahd.
This is also interesting because on my second playthrough, my PC and Astarion had lower approval and he does not go into why Cazador would send a gur. He simply says something like "they make excellent monster hunters...no special reason"
It is very sad but adorable that he thinks we can’t take some poet vampire lord just makes me want to protect him even more
Astarion makes the funniest face when you tell the Gur that the Spawn he's searching is right there.
It's like "?? WHAT?"
Check it out sometime, it's great.
They sound absolutely awful.. but you know we're going to have to fight him eventually, right? xD Probably not at level 4 though! That's for sure!
@@Mmogurl Oh God no! That'd just be unfair! Just load up on a LOT of restoration spells lol!
I bet if u leave him alone hell show up later in game
Very likely.
Thanks as always and enjoy cyberpunk!
@@Mmogurl russian is my first and native. learning english for like a half of my life rn leaves a mark x) thanks! and that's true, your pronouncing and the way you speak is just __something__, aaaa x) I like your voice quite much, too, you sound calm and friendly and nice and etc!
Thanks to my Dragon Age obsession.....I am now DETERMINED to learn everything I can about this game, and hope it comes to console someday
All because of Mr Silk Voice white hair here
In short: please make more of these!!!!
give Astarion the amulet of speaking to the dead and let him interrogate Gandrel, and he will know a bit more about who sent him. though i did it after i talked to Astarion, wonder if he'll say someting else if you talk to gandrel's corpse first and talk to Astarion after
In my first run I couldn't trigger the fight because I felt bad about saying Astarion was only a spawn and not a real vampire and I thought that was kind of mean but then I would be like wait I thought I was supposed to kill him so I attacked him out of the dialogue, but if you do that he doesn't fight back and just tries to run away and call for help so I ended up chasing him all over the swamp trying to eldritch blast him (not in turn-based mode) and then nothing happened when I cornered him and killed him lol
would be dope if you could recruit this guy
I’m so excited for Cyberpunk!! I think I’ll start as a street kid.
I wish the question of asking Astartion what he thinks should continue the joke instead of turning him on the party.
"I think we'd have a pretty good chance of killing cazador, if he ever did show up and try to take astarion back, you know?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. at higher level, maybe. at say level 4? you would all die. horribly.
I'm not trying to start an outcry or be dramatic but I just wanted to kindly notify you that g*psy is an ethnic slur for the Roma or Romani
Romani. G*psy is a slur
Edit: I know I am spoiling everything for myself in this game but I am too impatient. And I love love being able to see the way the scenes and technical things being polished bit by bit.
i feel so bad for this sweet baby like this guy is going through what Fenris was;
bad break-up and folks just arent taking the hint
they way he said "he wants me back" tho
=///////////=
He does have a major Fenris vibe.. not so much the personality..but the backstory for sure.
I have a question, how does the approval work in multiplayer? it only works for the host right? or does it work for the other people as well?
He is well justified to be TERRIFIED of a Vampire Lord, considering the D&D 5e Statblocks where a Vampire Lord has a Challenge Rating of 26 vs. a Vampire Spawn with CR 5...
i am sensing fenris backstory ish
I wouldn't mind having you on my headset when I'm trying to get through some of the more difficult stuff in BG3. Just saying!
Hey so 'Gypsie' is a slur. I want to be clear that I'm sure you weren't doing it on purpose but you're better off calling them Romani People or Roma People.
I didn't get any approval from letting astarion kill him in patch 8. I thought the only way to get approval is to have Tav kill him...
Do you get an alignment shift towards evil for killing that poor sap?
You really should.
I don't know if they even have an actual alignment shift at current. But yes I definitely should get a -drop for that choice xD
The hunter is meant be a feeble floozy. His employer is toying with Astarion in a game of cat and mouse. Astarion is supposed to cut down these lackeys until he feels safe. When his guard drops the real trap is sprung.
Heidi & Cartman who?
So, can you first learn Astarion is a vamp from Gandrel if he isn't with you? Or is that kept vague?
I think I found Gandrel on my very first plathrough while Astarion was at camp.. I didn't kill him and just found out he was looking for a spawn. There was a dialogue to ask Astarion about it when I returned to camp, but I'm having trouble remembering exactly what he said. I'll have to try it out again on another playthrough.
What happens if you select “Astarion, what do you think?”? 👀
He doesn't get angry like with 'this is Astarion', and you can still kill the gur
Gandrel: That's Astarion? Impossible
Astarion: These days, I'm making the impossible look easy. (To MC) May I?
and then you can decide if Gandrel dies or not.
how he lost his mortal life?! WUT
"You can't hold their entire people responsible for what happened to you, Astarion."
"Actually, I can and will."
tfw Astarion is racist against the setting's equivalent of gypsies
i cant wait to annihilate Cazador for Astarion and become a vampire and live and love forever 😍. Even if i wasnt in love with Astarion id still kill Cazador because fuck abusers, i dont care if hes a vampire imma shoot garlic at him and dunk em in holy water. plus he has the same name as those annoying bugs from fallout new vegas, probably related.
Love this channel but it keeps costing me money. 🤣 Watch channel...buy Astar-um, game...processor screams in agony...buy new computer! LOL
Hahah - awee sorry about that! At least you won't have any problems running just about anything when you get it upgraded!
@@Mmogurl Truth. Thanks for your videos. They’re epic. 😁
Why does the narrator voice make everything sound sexual? Like-
😌😳😳
Don't use the g-word to describe Roma people. It is a slur and has a racist history. the only people who can use it and if they want to, reclaim it, is Roma ppl themselves. Similar to how the only people that can use / reclaim the n-word is Black people.
Dude she was reading from the wiki. Chill.
Please, in the year of our Lord 2020 we do not use the word 'gypsy'
