Thanks for this helpful video! I practiced the steps before going to a party last weekend and it worked - so many people kept asking me to dance! I used it for the country and even other music
Love to hear that!
Thank you for making this simple enough to understand.. I needed a refresher for my competition tomorrow
So glad you covered Cha-cha! I like the country version better, and I'm glad you showed the distinction between it and the Latin version, which I find too busy to watch and do. There are a lot of good Country songs that are fun with Cha-cha.
We love Cha Cha too. It’s pretty regional in popularity, though. Some cities dance it and some cities don’t. We’d love to see more of it here in Houston.
@@countrydancex I went to a studio Houston for a while and they certainly taught chacha. That was way back in the early 90s though, so maybe things have changed, and also that studio has shut down, though it was part of a major chain.
I really enjoy watching your videos! Y’all put a lot of time and effort in them and it shows. My wife and I plan on attending one of your lesson soon. We live in Katy and I wish y’all had a studio closer! LOL
We’d love to have you! From Katy, both of our studios are probably about the same distance. We have one in The Woodlands and another near the Galleria.
Thank you so much for joining us here :-)
Funny, but those few basic moves look identical to the ballroom version to me, except for being minus the Cuban motion. Do they start looking different in more advanced moves?
That's not funny at all... You're exactly right. Cha Cha is Cha Cha is Cha Cha. In reality, Two Step is the only popular country dance exclusive to country dancing. For example, we dance American Smooth Waltz (at silver level and above), East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Polka, Cha Cha, and Nightclub Two Step... TO country music. The style may change a bit in some situations, but the structure and steps are the basically the same.
Excellent :) :)
So glad you liked it

i noticed that you count 1 2 3 4 and 1 (with the rock step on the 23 and the cha-cha-cha happening on the 4 and 1). this seems the same as ballroom cha-cha. but when i go to the country bars i always see couples doing the rock step on 12 and doing the cha-cha-cha on a 3-and-4
is that just a different style or are the people i'm imitating just doing it wrong?
What's next ?? Salsa country version??
We were hoping you’d make your own videos so we can watch and criticize yours
This looks nothing like the cha cha I have done at different country dance halls. Is there a “country cha cha” as well as a “cowboy” cha cha? The other version I learned has the couple standing side by side.
Those are what we call “pattern partner” dances. They are like line dances while touching someone 😂 Those are fun too. This is the actual lead and follow partner dance.
It’s just cha cha
Of course. 😊
