I wanted to point out this video was made about a month into my RUclips experience so I made some mistakes explaining , but did the best I knew how at the time. The size ornament are the large single plastic decorate your own ornaments dollar tree sells. Also it’s important when storing them for the year that you put them in their own ornament compartment or in a small box stuffed with paper to help hold them upright. The car doesn’t stay on the bottom If the ornament unless held upright. Then it’s difficult to get everything back into position... so just easier to store them upright. Also using good twine and hot glue to tie the tree helps keep it in place while pushing it through the ornament , but you do want to try and keep your hand on the tree as you push it through the ornament to help keep it in place . Someone had trouble with their tree shifting. There is no magic here the way I make them is exactly as you see in the video. We made one as a trial and error before making this video to work out the bugs. Initially we just tied the tree down but discovered it definitely needs glued down to help keep it in place as you push it through the ornament. I hope that helps anyone wishing to make this project. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your families! I wish you a safe, happy, love filled holiday season!
Leslie Jones Creations me neither!!! I’ve only found a big red pick up truck, the small red car she used. I didn’t find that “old school pick up truck” in blue and gold at the $1 tree and it had a garage ad on the doors but I didn’t car I was just happy to find the darn truck that’s the same style as the old red truck haha
These are very cute. I think you did a nice job. And that was very nice of you to come back with the information about how to store them so they will be safe for the next year.
This was another early video from when I first started my channel. I love these so much, but they do have to be stored upright or you spend thirty minutes shaking the "snow" off of the car and trying to get it all resituated … no one has time for that :) Thanks for watching!
Thank you Kim! I’m glad you like these. I was sharing with another subscriber the key is to get an ornament you can reach the bottom With your finger. It helps to position or knock any snow loose that covers/sticks to an area you don’t want it.😁
I watched this last year, it is so neat how u made these. I had bought several of the little red trucks in the toy section of DT. I live to make ornaments I can gift, these r perfect. Most of my friends love the red truck decorations just like I do.
That’s so awesome.. when I originally made the video I didn’t think to mention storage... it does need to sit upright or your stuck shaking the “snow” and trying to make it sit right. Which is more difficult than it sounds 😬. But I found small boxes from an office supply store that were like .20¢ each to keep them in. With a little tissue paper under it, they store really well, and look exactly like they did when I put them away . Just wanted to pass that info along ... I was new to making videos when I made this one... I have since learned to think of those types of things beforehand lol... also make sure before pushing the car through you have a little dot of glue to help hold the tree down as well as using the twine to secure it tight to the top of the car so it doesn’t fall off ... I found the faster you push it through the better it turns out.(that is if your using the same type of bulbs I used) everyone told me they had 2pc ornaments that snap together at Michael’s and hobby lobby 😁. Happy crafting! Thank you so much for watching.
I am going to remake the video to maybe explain it better. Someone had issues making the ornament. It really isn't difficult to do, but I made the video early in my you tube days and maybe could have explained it better :) if you don't use any foam snow the car will rock around a lot in the ornament. The fake snow will help hold it in place but obviously its not going to keep it from moving a little. Also make sure if you put the tree on the car you use glue and tie it down with the twine tightly to keep it in place when putting it in the ornament. If you notice I kind of hold onto the tree as its going in to help keep it in place. The quicker you get it in the ornament the better. I hope these tips help if you make one :)
Thanks Rhonda. so glad you are here! stay tuned I have lots of ideas... me and my family have been busy crafting and I'll be uploading new videos often.
Thank you Michelle. I had one view that had difficulty re creating this so I wanted to say make sure you tie the tree down tight to the top of the car and use glue to help hold it in place and then even then try to hold on to it while putting it through the ornament. What you see is exactly how I made them, but wanted to make sure you don't have trouble like she did. Also the "snow" I used a little foam bead in some and some I used Epson salt. I made a lot of the. I liked the salt best. When you store them after the holidays I made sure to set them upright and stuff tissue around them in the box so they don't tip over. one fell over and it was hard to shake the "snow" off of the car and get it back in place since the car isn't glued down. I hope that makes sense and these tips help out :) If you make one you can share it on Instagram if you want to. its just called Rebecca stu & the crew. I have no idea how to link it or I would lol. Happy holidays to you and your family!
Thank you! These are one of my favorite crafts that I made. I give a lot of what I make away because I just don’t have the need for that many decorations lol, but I kept these 😁. So glad you like them !
you're welcome! It goes in rather easy. I wasn't sure at first and then when we put it in as a trial before the video was made we actually laughed at how easy it was! The cut is so thin and blends in with the seam you don't have to seal it , it stays closed, and nothing falls out.
That would be awesome! Through trial and error I learned bigger isn’t better. Make sure your finger can reach almost all The way to the bottom.. I used the medium size ornament. It helps so you can move items in place easier. Also rub the little truck with fabric softener sheet if you have one. It helps the foam snow from sticking too much.
New subbie, I love the snow filled balls, and I love the red trucks. Last year I bought the gift bags with the red truck on them. I saw a really cute idea. You buy the little white lights and bring them thru the picture of the cut out truck, and you can frame it. Everything from the dollar tree.
I made something similar but I used a shadow box and made it a little bit more 3d. I have it in a video somewhere on my channel :) It did have a little white fence from Walmart's Christmas Village Section, and the shadow box was from Dollar General. I found one there for only $5 which is cheap compared to most. The framed one works really well too. I have seen those on several channels last year and they are really cute!
Thank you... please read in the description box some of the tips I added. I was new to making videos when I made this one, so I put some info in the description box that may be helpful.
OH Sandie Mom, I bet you could! The snow globe was a little bit more involved but that ornament is super easy! You don't even have to make a bow you can buy a little one already made. Thank you for the compliment. so kind of you!
Rebecca, Stu & The Crew I agree Miss Rebecca - I think you should sell the red truck ornament too. 😉 I can’t believe I didn’t comment on this video. I do have the red truck ornament, but it’s too big for that. I would like something for the center of my table with the truck, but don’t know how to do anything. I saw the bigger trucks you emailed me & love them, but I can’t afford one. I tested negative for strep, but Dr. said was very close, and still a terrible cold now have had an earache the last three days. Ouch!! 🤗 to you!!
@@rebeccastuthecrew you deserve it. Your talented. I use to do so much crafts years ago. But life changed. Im a single parent pretty much and my disabled son all of a sudden has many medical issues :(

Now that is clever and so cool!! I saw someone do kinda the same thing and they took a dryer sheet and rubbed the inside of the ball so there wouldn’t be any static for the snow. Idk, either way, they look amazing! Merry Christmas! ❤️💜💚
