Thanks for the info. Yours was one of the best videos and truly influenced my decision. And let me tell you this is the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m a first time eskater. Fell in love with long boarding and this just did it for me. Again thank you
Just got my top spec nomad, which shares about 90% of this board's dna, and man is it a blast. Now I just need to get better at turning tighter. Heavy rider so I needed the super hard RipTides, makes the tight turns a little tough, but with time I'll get better. You're right about s+ too, e and s are plenty for almost every situation. Nice review, and glad they're keeping you in their stable.
Nomad is an absolute weapon. Period. The riptide bushings are amazing and totally change the ride feel of the board, you should pick up a set one duro meter lower and put them on the front of the board for easier turning. 93a in the back 90a up front
@@DrewElia Yeah, I think you mentioned it in your Nomad video actually, but I did that, though it's a 96 in back and a 93 up front. I may get a set of 90 to try to lighten them both as I get more comfortable on the board, the stability is really nice with the current setup though. But you're right, this thing rips. I love it.
I am new to electric skateboarding, I've watched a lot of esk8 vids, I own a couple of budget boards...Acedeck might be my next purchase...👍👍👍 good stuff Drew!!! Thanks
Two best days of owning a boat. The day you buy it and the day you sell it everything else is just maintenance 😆 enjoy the boat my man!! These will be around when you’re ready!
Hey Drew! Love the channel. I actually ordered this board after watching your channel and I’m loving it. I’m looking to try a different set of tires. Maybe a set that’s all rubber. Have you tried any other tires with this Gear Drive Ares X1?
Congratulations on a KILLER BOARD! So I haven’t swapped out any tires on my set up but I know a a few people in the acedeck community that have and they dig it! I really do love the feeling that the stock HOTA acedeck tires feel plenty of grip and tons of range!
Between the X1 with two wheel gear drive and the X3 all wheel direct drive, which do you prefer? Would love a comparison vid on pros and cons for each. I want both 😂
Honestly both are on my top list, the feel of the x3 is unlike any other board because of the almost ZERO rolling resistance! It truly and be kick pushed like a skateboard. It’s not the fastest off the line, but its top speed is faster than any other board other than Hoyt in my collection right now. I hit 36 mph in this thing without thinking and it was stable as all hell. The x1 gear drive is just stupid powerful. That 90amp esc paired with the gear drive has insane off the line torque, but the top end is limited pending your wheel selection. I honestly don’t NEED to go above 30 really so that’s why I love that off the line power from the x3. I’ll be keeping both of the boards in my collection sorry if that doesn’t help you make a choice between the two haha. You won’t be disappointed with either one of them!
Hi I'm interested in getting this board but I've had bad experiences with electric mountain boards in the past. Compared to an electric mountain boards does this board have better stability and agility on the road. Does it get speed wobble?
Not one speed wobble at high speeds! The TKP trucks really make it super stable and the bushing choice was honestly really perfect. Now there is no guarantee that any board doesn’t get speed wobbles but I’ve hit 32 mph and it’s been spot on, you can always adjust the bushings with different set ups from riptide
The Ares x1 does make a noise but not as aggressive as a sound as the Nomad. Not sure exactly why? They are the same set up as far as inter nails gear drive and esc.
@@DrewElia thanks for the info! Love the content! Hope to see head to head videos like Acedeck vs Pivot GT vs Meepo Hurricane vs Atlas Pro 4wd. Curious to see who the current king of the hill is
Both! Haha that’s hard as far as performance goes they are tied, basically they share the same performance. The fact that the deck is longer on the Ares, and being a taller guy I like my wider foot stance, but the split angle design of the Nomad is absolutely gorgeous and functional. Plus it has cool Lights hehe. I think the fact that I didn’t have to mess with the bushing set up on the Ares and the longer deck/stance it squeaks out in front by a tiniest margin! But I still ride both just as much
I have a feeling that I’d might have even been placed up a class into sportsman? I was top three on the novice and I feel like I would have been crushed there.
Why does everyone hate skaters: Blows stop sign. Weaving on the wrong side of double yellow. Clearly goes right through while the light is red. Bro if you want the respect from cars of belonging on the road please at least try to follow the rules.
Hey, appreciate your input my man, thanks so much for checking out the channel. Clearly following rules of the road is of the utmost importance, but I ride when I know that there isn’t cars coming towards me, I always lion left and right when riding through lights and if you check the video again ( the part I Think you’re talking about) the light turned green as I wen through it cause I saw it turning in the other side. But hey my man thanks again for the input ride safe and enjoy your day
@@Steven-qm1xo 2022 version belt drive with the 50amp esc and bigger wheels. It wasn’t the fastest board on the track but i was able to stay stable in the corners and out perform there, if I had this or the nomad at that time I probably would have been classed up into the sportsman class. Super intro 👌 im glad to see ACEDECK and Tynee pushing the competition 💪
Agree! Nice to see more amazing stuff coming from these companies
I bought the Nomad N1 after watching your vids.... Love the N1 my new favorite street cruiser.... Thanks for the great Videos

Epic intro and great review bro. Always great to watch your videos.
Thank you so much brother!!!
Nice review Drew! This looks like a lovely board! Your intro is 🔥🔥🔥 on this video! Well done
Thanks so much Ronan!!! This was a fun one to make
⚡ *What an intro* ⚡
voiceover was a bit quiet though 😂
Hard to believe Acedeck are only a year in, they came in Swingin!
Yeah, my headphones we’re monitoring lower than I though…. But agree acedeck has been lining them up and knocking them down
I nearly bought one of these last week. Bought a boat instead, but still going to get one of these at some point.

hi Drew, quick question does this Ares X1 make the same sound as the nomad N1? which resembles a fighter jet engine, thanks for the reply

So many new boards to choose from but I think the new Velar is the one I'll go for.
Solid choice, haven’t been able to try it but definitely a good choice!! Enjoy
The Acedeck NYX Z1 would be a solid contender for the Velar plus it's cheaper and has better ground clearance...
@@Steven-qm1xo hope to test both out one day!
@@DrewElia the NYX Z1 can run bindings to but the Velar can't....
