And don't let the fact that Randy Orton burnt a cameraman alive on Smackdown distract you from the fact that in 1998, Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell in a Cell through an announcers table.
What makes it even more hilarious is that vince actually thought that they'd be able to jam 100.000+ people into the LA Memorial Coliseum for that "main event". What they should have done was put the world title on Earthquake at SummerSlam 1990 then had him defeat Warrior in a Survivor Series elimination match at Survivor Series then had Hogan challenge him for the belt at the Royal Rumble and lose after Warrior accidentally causes a DQ, then build to Mania by having Earthquake blow through all of the top talent in the company to build him up as an unstoppable force, then have Hogan and Warrior both issue challenges to Earthquake for the title at mania thereby setting up their first ever triple threat elimination match for the world title.
abdikadir hashi an Afrikaner is the white folk of south Africa. known as the (not spelt correctly) afrikance. they are of Dutch heritage (the language is very similar too)
First victim or Taker's streak? Paul Bearer's ppv debut? Blindfold Match? Bushwhackers instant replay fiasco? MCauley Culkin in the crowd? Andre's last Mania appearance? Most people being dead?
I can predict that one of those facts will be that the original main event was supposed to be...wait for it...Hogan vs. Flair!! Because they were doing so well at house shows...
I thought it was a case of McMahon pushing Savage into an out of ring career and not the other way around. The story I had heard was that Savage felt he still had a lot to offer as an in ring performer and that is what eventually led to his departure from the WWE in 1994.
speaking of weather, whose bright idea was it to have Undertaker Bray Wyatt match in the sunny daylight 2 years ago? they killed their intros. they should have saved that match till later when it got dark
Fire Dragon King Not to mention it was the 2nd to the last match, if it was the last it would have been main event, and Reigns V Lesnar V Rollins was a much better match
Sting: "Our partner is going to SHEIK the world, because he is none other than THE SHEIKMASTER !!" And Tugboat busts through the wall, dressed as a Sheik with a Stormtrooper helmet on.
"I probably mispronounced those names" - actually, you did pretty damn good on them. Genichiro Tenryu - nearly correct, except it's a hard G (as in "get") and not a soft G/J sound (as in "jet"). Koji Kitao - nailed this one 100% correct.
I always found it strange how after his first three Wrestlemanias as a member of the Rockers, Shawn Michaels went on to be Mr. Wrestlemania and Marty Jannety...never competed on a Wrestlemania again.
This may well be my favourite mania of all time, but maybe that's just a result of how much I go on about it to fellow wrestling fans considering how god damn underrated it is.
Also add to the fact that both members of power&glory were both injured. Hercules had a groin pull while roma had a messed up elbow. Power and glory deserved to be tag champs
I just can't wrap my head around Sheik Tugboat. If Slaughter as a heel champion only sold 16,000 tickets, can you imagine how bad sales would've been for WWF Champion Sheik Tugboat?!?
tugboat was eventually cast as a sheik in an episode of thunder in paradise, when hogan was heading to wcw. i moved into acting around nashville after wrestling around tennessee, they cast me as an arab too
From my memory, my dad had bought me tickets to see the show and presented it as a Christmas present in early Jan. How I knew was because I was out for winter break. Also, on the tickets, it said Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. So my theory is they made the change of venue sooner or they planned for the Sports Arena first and if the demand was great, switch it to the Coliseum since nothing was going on in that stadium once football was over.
I don't blame WWE for expecting a big crowd to be honest. They were 2 for 2 when it came to huge stadium crowds for Wrestlemanias, including the previous year. (Sure, Hogan/Warrior, and the intrigue of a brand new Building in the Skydome probably helped a tad)
Fortunately, Sergeant Slaughter's 'Iraqi sympathiser' (as well as Colonel Mustafa and General Adnan's) was only in the *storyline* - the three are *lovely* men in *real* life, with families, who love them. Fans (those who *remember* this PPV) now wish Sergeant Slaughter *retained* his title, that he won merely 2 months before this - at the 1991 Royal Rumble - from the Ultimate Warrior, and that the Triangle of Terror won the 'match made in Hell' at SummerSlam 1991, but, fortunately, said SummerSlam was merely 3 months before Survivor Series 1991, where Hulk Hogan finally lost his title to the Undertaker. Yes, fans now *hate* that Hulk Hogan beat Sergeant Slaughter at this WrestleMania (never mind that he became the new WWF Champion), and that he and the Ultimate Warrior won 'the match made in Hell' at said SummerSlam, now that they all now Hulk Hogan's a *racist* (hence WWE fans now *like* that the Undertaker beat him at Survivor Series 1991). I bet fans even wish, even if it *did* mean Sergeant Slaughter losing at WrestleMania VII, he at least got either disqualified or counted out, where he wouldn't have lost his title, even *if* he lost the *match*. Hulk Hogan's now disgusting, evil and vile, after that slur he said, hence fans have now lost all respect for him. Unlike the Triangle of Terror, Hulk Hogan's bad in the storyline *and* in real life. After Hulk Hogan going out of his way to be such a racist, he can spend his days feeling all *pathetic* - it's his *own fault*.
It was really sad to see Demolition job to a couple of nobody's from Japan. I really wanted the "new" Demolition to work. But it seems those in charge didn't care much for the team after LOD arrived.
You forgot to mention that this was the Wrestlemania where The Undertaker's famous streak began. I would have figured that would make for a spot on the list, if not a mention at the minimum.
WrestleMania 7 was the last WrestleMania Appearance for Andre The Giant, after he came to the rid of the Big Boss Man during the IC title match against Mr. Perfect to chase away Bobby The Brain Hennan
The WWE has recently claimed that Vince planned to have Hogan vs Warrior 2 as the main event and believed that match would have drawn the 100,000 plus crowd. Warrior killed the idea because he wouldn't lose to Hogan.
People often say WM7 didn't draw because of the Iraq controversy - I think it was more because Slaughter wasn't a main eventer and it was painfully obvious Hogan would win.
On the Prichard bullshitting about Tugboat, it should also be noted he continues to insist that the stadium change was because of the death threats and their insurance demanding a smaller arena.
I hated seeing the tag team of Demolition end & finish at Wrestlemania 7 especially to two flabby & unentertaining Japanese duo of "Tenryu & Kitao " wtf & is that any way to properly end & finish off one of the greatest & most notable WWF tag teams in history???
Pissed me off too. It was terrible how McMahon got his hands on the road warriors and basically destroyed demolition to get the road warriors in the spotlight.
Vince was out of touch even in the 80s and 90s. He treated the tag division like shit and treated women like sex toys. I’m glad Hunter is doing something with the people he has
Wrestlemania seven the match was Cut short for Paul Roma he had is Elbow was Full of fluid . So they have a Heavily bandaged his elbow to protect it and they had to drain it after the match give him time off to heal
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Randy Orton burnt a cameraman alive on Smackdown
Ghost Dog OH GOD HE DID
Ghost Dog And he cremated a corpse.
And don't let the fact that Randy Orton burnt a cameraman alive on Smackdown distract you from the fact that in 1998, Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell in a Cell through an announcers table.
He maybe ran away in time...who knows????
he kayfabe cremated a corpse of a crazy psychopathic woman
The shockmaster almost was a WWF champion and a wrestle mania main eventer. Let that sink in
THE YETAY
He became a Ninja though, so he is the real winner.
I don't believe Prichard's story. The "Shiek Tugboat" bit is so over the top ridiculous.
Lucky for you and us.. They didn't go there.
Tugboat should have turned heel and use the name Thugboat
Sheik Tugboat vs Hulk Hogan.
With drawing power like that, the crowd wouldn't have filled up my back garden, and i live in a condo.
Wait a minute. Does that mean that when he goes to WCW he'd be..... THE SHEIKMASTER!?
Brilliant
this comment should have been first lol
That's just too funny!
Wrestlemania 7 - The mania where the greatest streak of prowrestling began.
White Afrikaners none of my business but what does your name mean? are there any non-white Afrikaners or Afrikaans?
abdikadir hashi Afrikaaners are the descendants of Dutch settlers in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Afrikaaners are White
abdikadir hashi an Afrikaner is the white folk of south Africa. known as the (not spelt correctly) afrikance. they are of Dutch heritage (the language is very similar too)
Till Wrestlemania 17 , every match on the streak was pure crap ..
Wrestling Roots Orton, batista, triple h, Shawn Michaels, cm punk. that's 7 great matches right there
First victim or Taker's streak? Paul Bearer's ppv debut? Blindfold Match? Bushwhackers instant replay fiasco? MCauley Culkin in the crowd? Andre's last Mania appearance? Most people being dead?
I like that overlapping of the song at the end. Classy
Keep 'em coming, WhatCulture! I'm enjoying these.
Sheik Tugboat SMH
Queen_Brittany 3:16 would that have made him The Sheikmaster?
@The Kejo
Most likely
and instead of falling over some cable/wire whatever
he would have tripped over the Iraq flag
The KeJo brilliant!
Sigh... we almost got the Sheikmaster
I am from the future! WhatCulture will make a video called "10 Fascinating Facts About WrestleMania 8"!
Aaron Jake no its "10 Fascinating WWE Facts About WrestleMania 8"
I can predict that one of those facts will be that the original main event was supposed to be...wait for it...Hogan vs. Flair!! Because they were doing so well at house shows...
If only Randy Savage had retired, then who knows, he may still be with us today....
Stuart C sucks that continuing to wrestle might have screwed up his chance of having a normal home life. Rip Macho Man
acenace24 I feel the sadness but at least his legacy is cemented
Stuart C Perhaps.
Savage could have end up as a part timer.
No doubt, he was the man in my opinion, a better all around wrestler than Hogan and more likable.
I SHOT HURAMBEEE It was in California during daylight savings time so the sun wouldn't have set until around 7:30 p.m.
Fire Dragon King Not to mention it was the 2nd to the last match, if it was the last it would have been main event, and Reigns V Lesnar V Rollins was a much better match
I'd say Taker's still looked amazing. Bray's was atrocious though.
You did a good job on the names of Tenryu and Kitao... also Kitao used to be a legit yokozuna in sumo but was forced out for disputes
They brought up Kitao on other videos. He was a pretty awful person. John Tenta almost had his eyes gouged out by the man in the middle of the ring.
No mention of Undertaker's first match! SHAME!
Wesley Landon Woolsey The Undertaker's first match was at Survivor Series, not Wrestlemania
pieman19 I meant to say first WrestleMania match
Could we get an continuation of this series? This is very Informative
3:32 apparently Tyler Bates is a time traveller.
Jarppa Karppa Holy crap that actually looks like him
Jarppa Karppa *DUHH DUHH DAAHHH*
Holy crap, I see it now.
Sting: "Our partner is going to SHEIK the world, because he is none other than THE SHEIKMASTER !!"
And Tugboat busts through the wall, dressed as a Sheik with a Stormtrooper helmet on.
11.Undertaker's First Wrestlemania was on his Birthday.
Really.
Boy Adam referring to himself as "sexual ____" anything is really eerie now 🤣
Eager to see the 10 facts about WrestleMania VIII. I know the Flair/Savage match had an interesting bit of trivia in it
"I probably mispronounced those names" - actually, you did pretty damn good on them.
Genichiro Tenryu - nearly correct, except it's a hard G (as in "get") and not a soft G/J sound (as in "jet").
Koji Kitao - nailed this one 100% correct.
To be fair he had already said Kitao's name in an earlier video about people who went off script.
WWE being tasteless, i never
I always found it strange how after his first three Wrestlemanias as a member of the Rockers, Shawn Michaels went on to be Mr. Wrestlemania and Marty Jannety...never competed on a Wrestlemania again.
Can I get the Vince McMahon diary soooon pleeease? 😇😇😇
1:22 That must be a Newcastle joke, because I didn't get it.
WrestleMania 8 is one of my favs can't wait for that one!
You can hear Adam's soul being torn to shreds when he said "Sheik Tugboat"
5:24 Ohh good ol' Brother Love, I looove youuu
Great Video!!!
The Ultimate Warrior vs The Macho Man Randy Savage is my favorite Match, love it ;-)
You forgot to mention that this was the WrestleMania where the Undertaker started his WrestleMania undefeated streak
We all know this was Takers debut WM match but it also was his 26th b-day talk the ultimate gift for a wrestler @whatculturewrestling
Sheik Shockmaster
Sheikmaster
What ever happend to Paul Roma and Hercules they disapeared in 1991?
I just can't wrap my head around Sheik Tugboat. If Slaughter as a heel champion only sold 16,000 tickets, can you imagine how bad sales would've been for WWF Champion Sheik Tugboat?!?
Thank you, Sarge for saving us from Sheik Tugboat!
LA Memorial Colliseum could fill a crowd now . The HOF at the staples Center .
tugboat was eventually cast as a sheik in an episode of thunder in paradise, when hogan was heading to wcw. i moved into acting around nashville after wrestling around tennessee, they cast me as an arab too
I recall videos like this for Survivor Series and Royal Rumble, but I can’t find them. Does anyone know what happened?
Is "Shiek Tugboat" copyrighted? Because I could totally go for that as a ring name.
10 fascinating facts about Adam Blampied. I will be waiting for this list.
From my memory, my dad had bought me tickets to see the show and presented it as a Christmas present in early Jan. How I knew was because I was out for winter break.

I wish someday Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will have Wrestlemania there someday !
Undertaker's first WM!! Also, Macaulay Calkin was in attendance in the the front row and apparently thrown out for being disruptive.
That last fact now makes me wish Tugboat would've won the title only for the sake of saying that The Shockmaster was a former world champion.
Fortunately, Sergeant Slaughter's 'Iraqi sympathiser' (as well as Colonel Mustafa and General Adnan's) was only in the *storyline* - the three are *lovely* men in *real* life, with families, who love them. That bulldog warlord match was pretty decent for big dudes
It was really sad to see Demolition job to a couple of nobody's from Japan. I really wanted the "new" Demolition to work. But it seems those in charge didn't care much for the team after LOD arrived.
Tenryu and Kitao were actually legends in Japan...they were just unknowns in the states.
@@PortsmouthPunisher Unknown in Canada too.
The 30 for 30 was very good.
Make a 10 best urban legends in wrestling please
1:05 Lake Placid. Miracle on Ice!
13C is considered chilly? Damn now I really feel like a Canadian because that's swimming weather for me lol.
You forgot to mention that this was the Wrestlemania where The Undertaker's famous streak began. I would have figured that would make for a spot on the list, if not a mention at the minimum.
Lol "And I'm not joking!"
Interesting story on Sheik Tugboat.
The one where the streak begins!
good thing Adam just knows the real reason on the switch. he just knows. good thing we have this guy who was no where near it to know exactly why.
"The Shiekmaster" is better.
WrestleMania 7 was the last WrestleMania Appearance for Andre The Giant, after he came to the rid of the Big Boss Man during the IC title match against Mr. Perfect to chase away Bobby The Brain Hennan
Milwaukee! He said my hometown! I'm popping like crazy!
One of my favorite manias ever
The WWE has recently claimed that Vince planned to have Hogan vs Warrior 2 as the main event and believed that match would have drawn the 100,000 plus crowd. Warrior killed the idea because he wouldn't lose to Hogan.
Imagine Simon Miller as WCPW wrestler Shiek Tugboat come to life! #YOULOVEIT!
I'm still waiting for an outdoor event to turn into the famous October 19, 1985 event from San Juan PR,
Never mind Flair, what about Terry Funk? He's retired about 9 times and it's never lasted
Sheik Tugboat....Wow..Just....Wow!
The moral of the story is that nobody can fill the L.A. Memorial Coliseum except for USC football.
People often say WM7 didn't draw because of the Iraq controversy - I think it was more because Slaughter wasn't a main eventer and it was painfully obvious Hogan would win.
Can't wait for wrestlemania 20
The title match at WM VII should have been Savage and Warrior.
Huh. Tugboat. WWF champion Tugboat. WWF champion Tugboat vs Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 7.
Vince McMahon sure loves his big men, doesn't he?
Where the f*ck is my first Wrestlemania match and also the start of a mythical streak???
prepare for a Tombstone !
Sheik Tugboat...
That's just...
I can't...
55 degrees is wonderful!
On the Prichard bullshitting about Tugboat, it should also be noted he continues to insist that the stadium change was because of the death threats and their insurance demanding a smaller arena.
Dat Scott Steiner reference tho haha
Sheik Tugboat..........Throws hands in the air
Shiek Tugboat. I fucking love it.
Do 8 next
I hated seeing the tag team of Demolition end & finish at Wrestlemania 7 especially to two flabby & unentertaining Japanese duo of "Tenryu & Kitao " wtf & is that any way to properly end & finish off one of the greatest & most notable WWF tag teams in history???

Vince was out of touch even in the 80s and 90s. He treated the tag division like shit and treated women like sex toys. I’m glad Hunter is doing something with the people he has
Fun fact: Sheik Tugboat is actually Cody Rhodes' Uncle. Yep, I'd forgotten too. Hard to say who had it worse in the end... I'll leave that up to you
wasn't undertaker originally supposed to fight tugboat at WM7 as well?
I would've paid to see Sheik Tugboat. That's hilarious.
3:30 its Tyler Bate, hes a Timetraveler
The Ultimate winner of surviver series should be number 30 at the Royal Rumble!
It’s weird listening to this list after Bruce Prichard basically dismantled a good portion of it on his podcast
Last time i was this early tajiri was my uncle
Should've went with "Shiek Tugboat" but changed the named to the "Shiek Master" then all would be right
This was where the streak was born.
Shiek Tugboat would have sold out the LA coliseum
Adam needs to chill with these. You gonna finish all of them before WrestleMania.
Ritwik Nayak thats the point lol. Its daily, everday till WM 33. Like how they did in the past with Summerslam last year
You missed it was Undertaker's birthday on that day
Could've been worse. Could've had General Adnan introduce him by having him break through a paper wall!
Wrestlemania seven the match was Cut short for Paul Roma he had is Elbow was Full of fluid . So they have a Heavily bandaged his elbow to protect it and they had to drain it after the match give him time off to heal
Fact #11: WWE was still known as WWF in 1991
last time I was this early seth rollins could wrestle a match without his wrist bands falling off
