+Stephan Action i am working on some effect can i share it with u so u can guide me if i stuck some where and help me out with that that will be so kind of you i will send u a lonk as i finish thank u for your reply really appreciate it
Hello, nice tutorial first of all; thank you! I have a question. I have a visualization project for a building. In the animation scene, the camera moves from left to the right smoothly, while show rendering of the building. So when I save the project from Boujou I choose each selection-still cam, panning cam etc- but every time the object-building- moves along with the camera when it needs to stay in one place so the camera moves around it. I am missing something I guess, Can you help me?
I am not an expert of character animation. I try to animate sometimes with the biped in 3ds max and to take some motion capture but I am just a begginer in this
Hey, does anyone know how I can solve the wiggle problem, in Boujou the tracking points look good and are very well fixed on the plane, but in 3ds max all objects have slight wiggle effects. Thank you.
somebody help me..!! i've done everything, and when i want to export the camera to 3dsmax (*.ms), boujou stop working... when i export to any other format, it work just fine.. except for 3dsmax format i try to reopened it, and do it again and again.. but still stop working.. , anyone how?
Does my plane have to be the same in 3dsmax as in boujou? And what about the frame rate offset? Boujou starts at 1, max at 0, and AE at 0... omg im so lost... :( And one more thing, if i attain excellent tracking in boujou and everything slides in max does it mean its a frame rate problem not boujou?
+VFX Ltd™ Why do you use a plane in boujou? You don't need to make a plane. For the problem of boujou starting at 1 and max at 0, I don't remember having this issue. I will check this. For the slidding issue, you need to set the frame rate of max exactly as the frame rate in boujour and from the original video. My advice is to avoid to make a render in 3ds max with the background. It is difficult to imagine your problem if i don't see it
Stephan Action Thanks for your reply. When i referred to the plane, i meant the scene geometry. But i've finally made a break through last night after 24 hours of scouring the internet! :) For my 2014 max version, there are so many options as to where the frame starts when you import a background. I changed from "2" to "1". Thanks for your help anyways :)
The camera created from Boujou is a Standard camera, how do I change it into a Vray Physical camera? Or at least make the standard camera compatible with Vray?(My renders are turning out unlike it should do)
Don't worry! I think I've worked it out! Here's what I did: 1: Opened the maxscript file (with notepad) 2: Find the text that says: animate on ( c0 = freecamera name:"Camera_1" c0.nearclip = 0.0 c0.parent = $boujou_data 3: Change that text to: animate on ( c0 = VRayPhysicalCamera name:"VRayPhysicalCamera001" c0.parent = $boujou_data 4: Drag into the 3ds max scene 5: In the modifiers panel on the new VrayPhysicalCamera, tick the "fov" check-box, and that should be it! I probably missed something important in the tutorial, so I don't know if this is the correct way or not.
i am using maya 2011 boujou 5 , when i am exporting camera from boujou and open the file in maya but images sequence is not working, camera moving but the images is moving with it.
stéphane girondeaud The images sequence which you tracked in boujou if i want to place my character with that images sequence at the same time in max only not in after effects what i will do.
Rehan Khan I hope I understand your request: In 3ds max, if I want to import the camera (and the movement of it) in 3ds max, I have to import the script I created with boujou. And if I want to see the images sequence (the background video) in the 3dsmax window, I have to go in VIEWS/VIEWPORT BACKGROUND/VIEWPORT BACKGROUND and I choose the images sequence. If I want to make a render in 3ds max with my camera, my charactere (or my objet) and the background (the images sequence), I go in RENDERING/ENVIRONMENT and in the BACKGROUND section, I go on NONE and I chosse the images sequence (my background). When I'll make the rendering, I'll have the background. But it is not a good idea because the rendering is going to be long and you are not sure to have a good result (because we have to change parameters in 3ds max...). It is better to make as I said: use after effect to composit everything
if there was a person walking in the center of your video how would you go about putting the smurf on the persons shoulder as he moves. moving camera and a moving object?
this is a good question. I tried to make a 3d model stuck on a real moving hand (claws of wolverine) and it worked but to make a model in a moving scene with a moving object, never done
Thanks for the answer! yes im using 3ds max 2011, but i think ive got it figured out, im guessing it has to do with the brightness option in the vraymtlwrapper, just below the mattes surface check
thank you man!!!
very good explained! i was crying because of the bug in the script, you fix it and now i m happy again !
I am happy I can help

sushanth kumar I am glad I can help
dude, can you explain how to animate(rig) the obj and put it in live action footage?
I am not an expert of character animation. I try to animate sometimes with the biped in 3ds max and to take some motion capture but I am just a begginer in this

Hari Suwarno
what is the version of your boujou? Have you followed all steps of the tutorial?
Same to me, when export to 3d max it just freezes
I ask the same than for Hari: What is the version of your boujou?
5.02
ok. If Hari Suwarno has the same version, this might be because of this version. If you can try my version, do it. I have the 5.0

I probably missed something important in the tutorial, so I don't know if this is the correct way or not.
TheProtato oh may be this works. I never tried to turn the basic camera in vray cam. I'll try
how you fix it? if i render ingit will using Vray persvective not the boujou's camera
Your question is not clear but if you talk about the axes (x,y,z) it is explained in the video
stephanaction i already figured it out thanks for your tutor very helpful. i think you should make another videos
i am using maya 2011 boujou 5 , when i am exporting camera from boujou and open the file in maya but images sequence is not working, camera moving but the images is moving with it.
when i am looking through camera it stoke in on images how can i fix it
Rehan Khan
I dont use Maya. This might be a problem within maya. Try to explain me really precisely the problem

3Dsmaxcb You used 3ds max? If yes, what kind of light did you used? The same than in my tutorial?
Thanks for the answer!
yes im using 3ds max 2011, but i think ive got it figured out, im guessing it has to do with the brightness option in the vraymtlwrapper, just below the mattes surface check
3Dsmaxcb good if you found
:)
applies motion blur to smurf png, but doesnt enable it, hehe. Good tutorial though.
