Starting with an overnight ferry ride from Bari to the stunning shores of Albania (Durres) The adventure kicks off with a bit of excitement as I get stopped at the border for a "random check" and need to buy separate insurance, Make sure you carry cash on arrival. No cards are accepted!!!
Once in Albania, I head straight to Tirana, where I explore the beautiful lake and enjoy a lunch at the iconic national stadium. The excitement doesn't stop there-heading north towards the Montenegro border, I encounter a tense moment when a group of locals tries to steal my camera as I drift around a corner. This trip is packed with thrilling moments and breathtaking scenery.

What an incredible trip. Albania was amazing and I only explored the smallest part of it. I thought the camera being hidden away at the corner of the road was pretty hard to spot 😂

Albanian police did their work for checking , nothing to worry about. They wanted to double check the vehicle, cause lots of stolen or scams happened with cars coming from UK. I know you might have thought that they will do something bad to you but don’t worry. They were actually doing their work and in the end all good

What I saw is that the camera wasn't stolen but it was found without knowing that the camera was filming and that it belonged to you

I'd rather you have a more positive feedback or at least in the title. You're camera would've been stolen in any place of the world if it just seemed abandoned there and the Border was just fine. Be less of a snowflake thanks :)
I thought my comment on the video might have answered this but maybe not. This comment wasn’t exclusive to Albania, nor were these scenes rehearsed. I travel alone for a lot of my trips and I’ve never had my camera taken anytime I’ve left it to record myself but yes. That’s probably by chance 👍

Trust me he wasn’t trying to steal it, thats a road where you get to see a car pass by every few mins or so and thought that someone forgot it. I mean if you find it on the road why wouldn’t you take it?! Anyway he was not trying to steal your camera!
I did it several times in Bentayga, Rolls Phantom coupe and a continental GT from Paris to Tirana without any problems

You have missed some of the best parts of Albania. You could have gone south and find some of the most beautiful beaches in europe. As fars as your camera, can't blame the guy he found it on the street 😂. As you saw they gave it right back.

@@JeZZGro WTF man, do you live under a rock? Albanian beaches are superb! Actually the most bluest water beach in the world is in Albania (Pasqyra beach). Also Albania is not rich, but is not very poor or poor. Just f. go there once and see it. I was there this summer and the prices were just 10-20% cheaper than in Italy. I didn't see the poverty we have in the States, food was great and the country was very very safe. There is no such "bad neighborhood" in Albania, it's either well off or Soviet style "poor" neighborhood. I rented a MB and drove all over Albania, especially in the south. I parked on the streets, many time I forgot to unlock the car. I lost nothing, and the car was very safe. Actually considering to retire in Albania.

Thanks for visiting our country those guys thought someone had left the camera there on the side, they were not trying to steal it... Hopefully u will spend more time in our country next time there are some amazing spots and hidden beaches and gems. The food is also pretty amazing just have to do a bit of research.

If u find too soemthing a wallet or phone or camera pirce 5k in middle of road and no one there what is mean u stoled ? when my wallet comes out means i lost it and is not mine another question who find later to return what wallet have inside money or cards means is lost , so rbo dotnt say almost stolen cozz no one i albania have stolen turist
Great Video , I flew from the UK to Kosovo and met my friend and we did a driving trip from Kosovo to Albania to Montenegro and back- was class and some of the roads and scenery was stunning, we did however use an old VW passat with Alternator issues LOL so id love to do it again but this time drive the Camaro over.
A lot of stolen cars go to Albania and get sold quick. Im guessing he wanted to use the OBD to see the VIN to see if it is stolen vehicle or not.
Yes, its a real problem here in the Netherlands. Eastern European crooks come over, steal cars and then just drive them back to their home countries for sale.

for these countries is very cheap to get an e-sim (for example ubigi) for internet. Very easy to install, cheap etc and is a lifesaver!

Thay check your car with Odb bc alot of cars are stolen in Uk and someone bring to them in Alb or sometimes thay sell their cars and pretend it was like stolen.Thats why thay w check most of the cars 👌🏼

The police will put the OBD reader to check you VIN on different modules to see if its had the VIN changed. Thieves will usually swipe the VIN and then re-write it to a stolen car, say an M2. Making it difficult to spot which one is the stolen one and the original one, where both have the same VIN, written to all modules.

Fabulous video. Not sure why border control wanted to plug their phone into your OBD port? That’s a no no for me. It’s the same as some random person asking to plug a USB stick into your personal computer.
Albanian here living in italy, on summer we always go for vacation in Albania by car and at the Montenegro-Albania border, Albanian police have ALWAYS stopped my dad's car (2023 X6M Competition), they plug something in the OBD and they open the hood to look for the VIN, this is done to check if the car is stolen or not and when they can't check if it isnt or not they call the Embassy of the country that the car is registered to in order to get a response from them. They do this with most of the luxury cars going INTO Albania cause very often the stolen luxury cars go in the country either to get sold for parts or as is.

My house is up the road from were those guys tried to snatch your camera bro 😂 since 2007 i havent been there, the road back then was the old communist road. Its definitely one of the best driving roads in the world i think all the way up into the mountain like u drove it. Cheers and tha ks for sharing

I dont get it why uk dont use green card insurance like all other eu countries u dont need to pay extra insurance just get green card from your insurance company
It doesn’t work unfortunately, I brought my green card with me on the trip. No longer forms part of the EU 😞

It's an amazing country and you will defenetely need to drive on some of the best roads in the world like "Transfagarasan", "Transalpina", "Transrarau", "Transbucegi".

Bro, the last time I traveled alone, I was also completely searched. It is normal when you travel alone. You had to go east to Pogradec and you had the opportunity to see Macedonia as well. And then go to visit Gjirokastra, Saranda and Vlora. You did all that road and you didn't visit the cities where the most popular tourist destinations are.Albanians don't steal anything, but if something falls in the middle of the road, anyone takes it. To steal, the English are held, go for a ride with your camera in Brixton, Camberwell, Lewisham, Hackney. and many other places after 12 midnight, you end up naked.

No, it's not safe to be in albanian at all 😂😂 I've been there in 2020 ,they stole our phones at the beach and the last day someone broke into our Airbnb apartment and stole our luggages..Police is useless and corrupt...Worst holidays of my life !I will never go back again ....
