Just so you know in the UK we have a huge Jamaican influence in all our music and language - patois is in a lot of music and we have a huge love for caribbean and Jamaican culture - the difference between USA & UK is we don’t have a huge racial problem like you do we pretty much all get along and Jamaican culture and music is strong here In America not so much - the black people of America don’t seem to be in touch with their roots as much as UK blacks No offence just an observation I think your country has is a bit more white privileged unfortunately and I’m white

Many Americans unfortunately can’t be in touch with their heritage because it was literally stripped from them via slavery. But Americans who know their heritage (usually first generation Americans) are deeply connected to their roots. Also we definitely have a racial problem here in the uk, it’s just not as in your face as the U.S unless you’re in a small city/town. I think our class issue is “bigger.”
