There was a bit too much formality in many of these outfits, not enough mixing of high and low. For example a lady jacket with gold buttons looks way too classic (and ageing) on someone in their 50s and beyond, unless it's dressed down with jeans, etc. I don't buy Chanel-style tweed jackets if they have gold buttons, I also prefer the ones with frayed edges. Classic and ladylike on someone in their 50s and beyond makes you look older than you are imo. I don't wear more than one or two classic items of clothing to avoid looking old.
