Hello, I am from Michigan. I got my sleeve surgery on Feb. 14, 2024. Today has been 7 days. Your channel has helped me prepare and understand what to expect. I guess I am wanting fast results. I have lost 10 pounds so far. The protein shakes are the hardest for me to drink. I ended up having a very serious problem that the doctor found. I had a diaphragmatic Hernia. He had to pull my stomach out of my esophagus. So this surgery saved my life. I was sicker than I knew or he knew. I knew something was wrong with me for a long time but I didn’t know how bad my health was. Thank you very much for all your information.

I love hearing about your NSVs, not silly at all. I discovered that I can sit down and reach down to tie my shoes without having to pull my foot up! My balance is definitely better. At nearly 5 months post RNY I’m still trying to figure out my little stomach. Some days I can eat without any issues, and on other days even water doesn’t feel good! But everyday I’m grateful that I chose to have the surgery.

Katherina I always look forward to your videos. I totally get the experience you had with the hammock. Twice recently my daughter has told me I’m not as large/ heavy as I think I am. She’s a photographer and I helped her at a father/daughter dance. She always does test shots and wanted me to sit on the bench she had set up. I was leary that it would hold my weight. She convinced me and no problem. It’s the everyday day things that mean the most. Also, I’m shocked you have 50 more to lose. In the pictures at the end, you look fabulous. As always, your sunshine and inspiration.

Thank you Valerie. I appreciate your comment, and I am so happy to hear that you're experiencing the day to day non scale victories that make this surgery worth while. I promise to upload more videos sometime soon. I am dealing with my mother's health issues right now and it's a little consuming, to say the least, but I will get back on track, soon. THANK YOU For your kind words and support xoxox

@@thistothatlife I completely understand being tied up with parental caregiving. All of last year was like that for me. Balance and self care are so very important to your physical and mental health. Sending good energy to you and your Mom.

@@thistothatlife I went in for RNY on 1/25 and it went super well. I felt tight and sore in my tummy right afterwards but no real pain or discomfort. I’m currently in soft/puréed stage and I hate it but it’s going well. I had a minor issue with constipation at first because I wasn’t consuming anything but liquids but milk of magnesia helped. Tomorrow is 4 weeks since surgery and I’m down 30 pounds!! I’m excited to get back to work on Monday.

Love this video….. I was touched when you were talking about the hammock at Costco….. I can relate. I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and so far down 38 lbs, 14 inches. Trying to create new healthy habits….. like so far I do not eat anything after dinner….. just a cup of tea. That used to be my worst time for eating out of control. Was thinking about therapy….. can you tell me some ideas they may have given you about what to do when head hunger strikes? I appreciate your videos… they are helpful. You go girl!!! Maryrenee

Allo Mary Renee! You made it to the other side!!! Congratulations 🎉 wishing you lots of patience, perseverance and most of all success on your health journey. You're going to do great. When I struggled wanting to binge I would first of all try to distract myself with exercise...walking, swimming, shopping lol if that didn't work I would have a healthy meal and if I wasn't able to get rid of the desire I would also track my food and see if I can fit it in my daily allowance....if yes then I would have a bit of whatever I craved otherwise reconsider by thinking about my "why's" and finally if the need persisted I would have some the following day and track it. Overtime the cravings changed and I crave salads more than chocolate nowadays. I know you're going to do great. Stay positive and take it one day at a time. You got this!

Hello lovely :) I hope the surgery went well. Take your time to ease into this new lifestyle and remember to keep on sipping on water. Don't worry too much about getting in all your protein in the first few days. WATER is vital at first. The rest will come in time. I hope you heal quickly and that your health journey is successful. Keep in touch. I would love to hear how it went. xoxox
