That Eva conversation was awesome. I deep dived a bunch of Eva theories before when I was hooked on the show but i have never heard one as profound and reasonable as "Thirty Story Titty"
I like this comment, but the likes currently read 123 and I will no do anything to ruin that. If I come by here again, and see that it's changed, i'll like it then. I promise.
The editing involved with the clothing changes was so spotlessly perfect it took me a bit to realize that what Ian was doing was impossible in real time.
I think what they're doing is having that conversation happen in front of a green screen and filming ian and kathleen out of focus separately and playing it on the greenscreen and overlayed the audio from the greenscreen clip on the audio from the conversation clip in the final edit. any shout out if this is correct or incorrect?
My god the cut to a totally random intense discussion about EVA was just amazing. I had to listen to it at least twice, while trying to not be distracted by Ian's various outfits in the background.
1: Seriously all of you look both Badass and Fabulous in slowmo. YES HOMO. 2: Graham and Beej slowly loosing their minds over Ian is the perfect amount of Graham and Beej in a story that has literally nothing to do with them. Please continue these little one-shot intros ♥
Weirdly enough, in the walking scene I think Alex is the one pulling off the walk and facial expression the best, and Ian has a weirdly Terminator-like vibe to me.
I LLOL'ed (literally laughed out loud) when the sign for the froyo showed up. Also, I was fully expecting fully liberated Ian to cut to him wearing, like, the exact same outfit with a red tie, or a (beige) bow tie.
What brings the most joy to my heart and the most laughter out of my face during LoadingReadyLive and other things, is hearing you dying in the other room. So I am just imagining what that sounded like right now, and I died almost. But seriously, your laugh causes my sides to hurt.
This episode really breathed new life into cHUSTLE. Love having smaller stories with fewer characters. And Ian finally becoming a real crew member in the story!
Sometimes something is funny BECAUSE you know the people playing it had a bunch of fun making it. and that slow motion falls squarely into that catagory LOL
Great episode. The editing seemed to be particularly on point. It usually is, but it was pointier this time. Also, I can't stand Eva, but always found discussion of Eva interesting.
Well, the Grimderpness of Eva definitely fits the emo-goth style of the coven they're trying to make, but yeah, besides the remakes animation of the Angels, especially Ramiel, I didn't really like it either.
I mean their discussing End of Evangelion, which if you didn't like actual Eva, you would HATE. I liked original Evangelion, but end? That just got weird.
The slow-mo walk down the street reminded me of the reveal of the West Coast Mother Loving G's from season 1. Interestingly, I don't think there's any membership overlap.
Loving the new cH format on all counts - slimmer stories mean tighter narrative focus, shorter lengths mean more frequent appearances. Plus, your cinematography and directing is coming on in leaps & bounds. Yay!
Shit, I didn't even notice that until I saw this comment. Went back to check, and holy shit it is there. I wonder if that's on any of there other videos?
I'm assuming, after some thinking, that the file for their LRR intro has the Escapist intro at the start from when they put their videos on Escapist, and they never made a new file with the Escapist intro removed, so whenever they use this particular intro (which seems to only be for Hustle anyway) they just manually cut out the Escapist part, and this time they accidentally left in the last frame.
No that's actually just the format for their title card. They always have the blue border around it, and on the very last part of the theme, synced up to a note, it flashes the copyright with the year. This shows up in every LRR title card with the corresponding year.
It should be pointed out that Adam was the progenitor of the Angels, not humanity. Gendo didn't get huge because Adam was still regressed back to almost an larval/embryotic stage, and needed to be melded with a piece of Lilith more substantial than a single human to kick off an Impact. Lilith was the progenitor of humanity, sealed in the Chamber of Gauf, which was empty save for Lilith during the series (implying that there were no more souls left to be born). Rei took Adam from Gendo when he tried to merge with her to control the Impact, instead starting it herself, and choosing Shinji to direct the course of Third Impact.
2:30, Alex cant stand how adorable and not-goth Ian's noise is XD;. Well Everyone's expressions are just on point for that shot XD. Good grief I just watched the Anime Discussion/Outfit montage 4 times, 3 times to get the anime story straight, once for the outfit montage XD;.
I enjoy all CH, but this one episode really stuck with me for some reason. I can't tell if it's the acting, the script, the cinematography, the segues, but this is my favourite yet!
Major props for the editing, the hilarious slow-mo, and the seamless costumes scenes. If these had star ratings. I would drop .5 of a star for this being a 'Goth' episode and no one is wearing a black dress with an Ankh. (And I know you guys have an alligator mask)
I personally like to say the cast's name when they show up in the intro, it's a very minor but fun thing that adds a little extra something to my enjoyment. So was pretty shocked when it was on hyperspeed for this one. Like James....Alex....Cameron....turned into James! Alex! Cam! (no time for long names) Kathleen! Beej! Paul! Graham! woo now I'm tired. :p
I absolutely loved "There's white smoke coming from Paul's lab!" He's elected a new Taupe!" Funny, great cultural/religious reference, so much excitement expressed! :D
I haven't seen a slo-mo walk this overblown since Paul learned to to play MTG.
Bravo!
That Eva conversation was awesome. I deep dived a bunch of Eva theories before when I was hooked on the show but i have never heard one as profound and reasonable as "Thirty Story Titty"
I remember my forays into Eva theory. I almost became a raging loon.
I like this comment, but the likes currently read 123 and I will no do anything to ruin that.
If I come by here again, and see that it's changed, i'll like it then. I promise.
But Cameron was dead wrong. Adam was the progenitor of the Angels. Lilith was the progenitor of humanity.
Now that Ian is goth he should create a company to market black
Hot topic ?
My god the cut to a totally random intense discussion about EVA was just amazing. I had to listen to it at least twice, while trying to not be distracted by Ian's various outfits in the background.
No lie, Ian looks really friggin' good in black.
He looks like a leather daddy
Your pfp just fits your comment
He looks like Kane from Command and Conquer :D
I liked the moment when Cam and Alex discussed the plot of End of Evangelion.
Also god damn Ian can change clothes hella fast!
I see a biege Ian and want him dressed in black.
Is is bad that I sung this line into paint it black??
I was singing it when I wrote it, soo......... You good.
phew, thank the swirling darkness in my right sock.
...no Escapist anymore, I want the 'e' to turn black...
No khakis anymore, I want him dressed in black.
Who needs sleep when you have LRR?
seriously it's midnight in vancouver.
Who needs sleep when you have civ 5? ONE MORE TUUUUUUURN!
Seriously, one more turn = "What?! It's morning already?!!"
You have to live with what you're getting.
You know there's a guy who's been asleep since the second world war.
This looks like a job for... More Sleep!
Ian could play a very convincing no-nonsense Russian mobster with that new look.
I actually really liked the one with the one with the bandana.
Weirdly enough, in the walking scene I think Alex is the one pulling off the walk and facial expression the best, and Ian has a weirdly Terminator-like vibe to me.
also, i know i'm a tiiiit late, but who else was irrationally angry about the untied shoes for a moment?
This was a great change of pace for cH. Just like Graham said, it feels like those really old, pre-HUSTLE sketches featuring these characters.
I love this new format! Focusing on fewer characters allows for a ton more time on individual plotlines
I've never heard all of pre-rebuild Eva summarized so cleanly
Except Adam is the progenitor of the Angels, and Lilith is the progenitor of humanity; so his Gendo gestalt comment was off base.
The Eva conversation made me so damn happy for some reason.
I LLOL'ed (literally laughed out loud) when the sign for the froyo showed up.
Also, I was fully expecting fully liberated Ian to cut to him wearing, like, the exact same outfit with a red tie, or a (beige) bow tie.
More commodoreHustle!? It's like Christmas, but in March, and less red!
Oh right, it's almost St. Patrick's Day.
IT'S A SAINT PATRICK'S DAY MIRACLE!
Ah, Saint Patrick's Day. What a perfect season to wear
beige.
blade 5 looks great
I just want you to know I'm in my room SCREECHING with laughter at this comment.
What brings the most joy to my heart and the most laughter out of my face during LoadingReadyLive and other things, is hearing you dying in the other room.

That EVA conversation was beautiful.
I like that Ian had his own storyline bringing him into the fold. Feels right. If this is the shape of Hustles to come then I, for one, approve.
Ian rocked that sweater vest/leather jacket combo.
"You're in". Does that mean Ian now finally gets a cH credit at the beginning?
Sometimes something is funny BECAUSE you know the people playing it had a bunch of fun making it. and that slow motion falls squarely into that catagory LOL
Wasn't LRR a street gang though?
It really is 2017 when the street gangs and covens are uniting as one.
Kestral287 who needs covens when you have the runners
The Loading Ready Runners
This episode had some intensely deep Eva cuts..i totally approve. Nerd Cred aggressively confirmed. :)
Casually just watching Ian's hand phase into nothingness as he crosses the line during the outfitting scene.
Quality episode guys, so densely packed, so much value.
Great episode. The editing seemed to be particularly on point. It usually is, but it was pointier this time.
Also, I can't stand Eva, but always found discussion of Eva interesting.

I liked original Evangelion, but end? That just got weird.
that Eva discussion was actually very enlightening
The slow-mo walk down the street reminded me of the reveal of the West Coast Mother Loving G's from season 1. Interestingly, I don't think there's any membership overlap.
This is a rival coven
Matthew Geer only Kathleen was even in season one out of that group.
I love they worked in Ian saying decadent
Goth Ian in that coat looks like he could be an exorcist. Watch out, I think he might secretly be keeping tabs on the coven.
TFW you realize your jacket and like 2/3 of your pants are black so you're a goth coven member now
Every evangelion discussion ever, summarized in 3 words. Nice
Thirty. Story. Tiddy.
I'm surprised no one stopped Ian on the street mistaking him for a hitman
Yeah, I would not trust a guy that looked like that, so unsettling.
That conversation about evangelion was the most intelligent and least flame wary conversation I've heard yet about the series.
Ian looks phenomenal in that getup. Seriously, he pulls it off incredibly well.
Loving the new cH format on all counts - slimmer stories mean tighter narrative focus, shorter lengths mean more frequent appearances. Plus, your cinematography and directing is coming on in leaps & bounds. Yay!
Was Ian supposed to look super badass in all black? Because he did. And the slo-mo walk! I still have tingles.
Really liked the tighter focus as mentioned in the YT update vid. Also enjoyed the rapidfire opening credits
This is now my favorite episode. Goth Ian makes me so happy.
Gonna go out on a limb here and guess Kathleen wrote the lion's share of this one.
If we're getting more of this "More and Better" cHustle I'm down! This was dope as h*ck.
I've not seen Kathleen this excited since the Goth Tally Incident
That frame of the Escapist logo at the very start confuses me.
Shit, I didn't even notice that until I saw this comment. Went back to check, and holy shit it is there. I wonder if that's on any of there other videos?

Then what's with the Escapist logo?
I don't see that actually
"So decadent"
*squee*
thanks for the EoE breakdown, reminds me of how much it "makes sense"
if this is the new "smaller" commodoreHUSTLE then I am ALL IN! This was fantastic.
If this is the slimmer, sleeker cH, I'm all for it. Looks great :)
oh man this episode was hilarious :D
So many good scenes, shots, and the acting was on point, thanks LRR :)
🎶I am the sun and the air🎶
Kathleen actually listened to this album while writing to "get in the right state of mind."
Did she watch The Craft for inspiration as well?
Okay I was worried about the new format, but I really like this. It allows to learn more about the characters
It's never too late for the darkness to set up shop in your soul!
It should be pointed out that Adam was the progenitor of the Angels, not humanity. The production level is insanely good!!!
I love all the interesting ways this was shot, made it extra fun to watch
Kathleen is so good in this episode. The slo mo is amazing
I enjoy all CH, but this one episode really stuck with me for some reason. I can't tell if it's the acting, the script, the cinematography, the segues, but this is my favourite yet!
Thank you! We had more time to hone it all :)
This was my favorite episode in a while, had me laughing out loud the whole time. Great work!
Ah... personal tragedy and shortcomings... so goth.
This episode was so good that I've actually made a youtube comment! Excellent work, team
Loving "The Craft" reference with the slow mo walk and Kathryn kiss.
This episode almost felt like a loading ready runners episode in some spots. very cool.
Your laces are untied. Sign of maximum angst!
Even though this was short, this episode was amazing!
He was VP of a highly respected anime club in high school. HE IS A WITCH.
Freaken love the evengelion talk
Is it just me or does it seem the camera quality has improved either way i love it
Now while I'm more a monochrome hippie than a goth, that stinger is a great way to explain my wardrobe for the last decade or so. Hurrah!
I just came here for the conspicuously untied shoelace.
Throw back to that one Friday nights episode when the walked to yellow jacket.
Keep up the fantastic work LRR!
He's like the lone blue jay hanging out with other crows/ravens
new hustle day is always the beigest, most adequate of days
I haven't even watched NGE but that conversation killed me with laughter.
Ian said maroon! That is a perfectly acceptable goth color! Why didn't he get props for that?
"Okay, I get why everyone turns into tang-"
Aaaand I already know where this is going.
3:47 That's a really complicated shot for that joke. Impressive.
I can sympathize with Cam. Being a big coffee drinker has its pros and cons.
Major props for the editing, the hilarious slow-mo, and the seamless costumes scenes. If these had star ratings. I would drop .5 of a star for this being a 'Goth' episode and no one is wearing a black dress with an Ankh. (And I know you guys have an alligator mask)
We actually don't. We once had a paper mâché dinosaur hat, but it died.
Oh! Well, said paper mâché dinosaur hat will live on fondly in my memory.
Ian looks good in black. Like that outfit with the bald and the goatee really congress's together well.
These guys always make Victoria BC look like a great place.
I love the Uline catalog, soooo much stuff in it!!
Man, it feels like it's been 2017 for three years.
cH was always great, but this is next level stuff. Great work.
That Craft reference though. perfect :)
Awesome as always. Love you, guys!
I completely lost my shit when they were discussing end of eva. Funniest anime discussion in years!
anyone else get a runners vibe from there walk to the yogurt place?
I absolutely loved "There's white smoke coming from Paul's lab!" He's elected a new Taupe!" Funny, great cultural/religious reference, so much excitement expressed! :D
Ian legit looks amazing in that outfit.
"its 2017, dudes can totally be in a coven!"
Alex, tie your shoes.
I need to know how Ian's anime club got well respected...
Bald head? Goatee? Leather jacket? Ian totally looks like Kane from the Command & Conquer games!
Watching the Notebook also leads me to feelings of overt darkness. Or super-obvious darkness
