yeah it is worth it, in some games fps is more than double (2x as much) but only if you can find the i7 for a decent price, otherwise getting a cheap ryzen 5 3600 or 5500/5600 would provide better performance but you would need to upgrade the GPU as well since 1050ti is just not enough nowadays. You should aim to get at least an rx 6600/rtx3060 to play new games at a decent frame rate (FPS).
you are unnecessarily soft on some game settings. For some games, I wouldn't be afraid to improve the display quality. I personally play Dead Redemption 2 at 2560 x 1440 + raytracing with max settings and the GPU handles it great at 40fps to 50fps. It's enough for me for singleplayer games. AMD graphics cards do not have cuda cores but stream processors :)
I currently looking to upgrade my GPU, currently running the one and only i7-6700 (non k), looking at a very affordably priced RX6600, or a 6650XT for $30 more, is the 6650XT worth the extra 30 bucks when paired with the i7? how much of a bottle neck because the 6600 with the i7 seems to do quite decent, don't mind spending the extra but if I won't see any performance gains then no need

Even a ryzen 1600x would be a hugh win amd its really cheap now
