    It’s interesting to me so many “hardcore” fans were upset at the changes from the source material but having been watching the show.. they actually kept a LOT of the same elements while removing the more problematic things and it’s been refreshing to see that.

    Yaaaay! Naughty Librarian recaps are back. ♥️ Somebody elsewhere said this episode felt more like a continuation of the finale, and I agree. It didn’t feel like the bombastic premiere of season one, but it definitely set up a lot for the slow burn of this season’s arc. Delainey was fantastic, and I look forward to seeing her work with Jacob and every other character.
    I’m soooooooooo ready to see the Théâtre come to life! 😆

    My main note about the episode is not even about the episode lol but about some fans reactions to it. I've seen some analysis going around about Armand and Louis' interaction and like basically implying that Louis is manipulative because he "witholds affection" until he gets what he wants which I think is an absolutely INSANE take to get out of that going to scene. Its not even that its wrong, right, we've seen Louis doing that with Lestat before but like come on lol Armand is the one who's trying his hardest not to have Louis know the truth there

    • @daniellestewart9255
      @daniellestewart9255 20 дней назад +4

      I wondered that when Armand agrees to have "Real Rashid" get the torn out pages, Louis kisses Armand and he lingers like he was expecting more than just that kiss.

    • @lkcullen1918
      @lkcullen1918 18 дней назад +1

      Yeah I've been seeing that too.
      The whole "the bars in the bedroom represent the prison Louis has trapped Armand in" seems to trickle down from the latest "Louis is secretly the biggest-evilest-manipulator" takes people are having. I feel like some took all the nuance out of 'unreliable narrator' and flung Louis all the way over to 'lying hypocrite'.

    • @maiafay
      @maiafay 17 дней назад +1

      Armand seemed to be solely the manipulative one. Something is not right with their relationship. Those fans thinking Louis is the bad guy seem to be simping and thinking their man does no wrong. I keep seeing this trend in many fandoms. Jumping through hoops to defend a sus character.

      @@lkcullen1918 I must ne the rare viewer that simply thought those are blinds in the windows. There are no bars in the rest of the penthouse, why would they be in the bedroom? Plus he used his I pad to close them like blinds.😊

    I loved the episode, it's exactly what it is, the continuation of a first part, so doesn't feel like a premiere, which makes sense but the series doesn't benefit from such a significant hiatus, but I'm very excited for the full thing. and the new actress who plays Claudia is excellent, her first scene feels like her rebirth, which makes perfect sense! the recast ends up being very poetic!

    Is the blood not able to sustain vampires because the people it’s take from are malnourished literally and spiritually? Does this or the practice of feeding on the dead yield zombie vampires?

    my question is ...will we ever hear about Claudias days when she was at college and met a young American Vampire ,who Lestat obviously knew/learned of ...will any of that be in Claudias missing diary pages????.....I loved all the sound level in this series so far .....the whispers ,so much better than Tom Cruise scream-shouting most of his lines

  • @geegeelast7597

    Ya know this is a question unto itself.
    Vampires live forever. So how does a vampire process memory? I’m guessing if you are over 100 years old, and you have to constantly reinvent yourself, wouldn’t you forget things?
    But doesn’t Claudia NEED Louis as she looks like a child, and she’s not strong enough to make another vampire. Now this unto itself could be reason enough to hate him. But it’s still not practical.
    As for the beautiful Armand he’s a master manipulator. I believe he does love Louis. But he’ll do ANYTHING keep Louis.
    EPISODE 2 will introduce us to Paris, but not tell all.

    I liked the episode even if it wasn't as packed with a lot stuff like the episodes of season 1. Each episode of that season felt like a whole movie. My only real trepidation about this season that the only version of Lestat 🧑🏻‍🦰 we'll see is the version of him in Louis' head & not the actual Lestat IRL. And we also better brace ourselves for the inevitable --- Claudia's demise. The thing is in the book IWTV, Louis was mad at Armand for not stopping his minion vampires from off'ing 😵 Claudia and Armand says it was out of his control & his cult follower vamps committed the murder on their own & it takes Louis time to believe him. I NEVER believed him. But, I have a feeling in this iteration of events, i.e., the show, they're gonna place more of the culpability on Armand. I'm pretty sure that's why he wants to keep Louis in his amnesiatic state. In fact, I'm sure Claudia's death is what gonna cause Louis to crack 😵‍💫 & Armand is gonna be the 1 to use his vampiric mental persuasion tactics ---- which FAR surpass Louis since Armand is HUNDREDS of years older than Louis, to wipe Louis' mind clear of his (Armand's) hand in Claudia's death cuz Armand knows that would END his & Louis' relationship 4 EVA!

    Hello. A little error in the episode or maybe they were not specific enough. The village where Louis and Claudia find the vampires in not in Ukraine, it is in Romania, as they discussed in Season 1. Also the language they are speaking is romanian.

    This episode seemed more like a continuation of the finale and unnecessary. Especially, since nothing of real importance took place. They seemed to want to make a point of how Louis and Claudia went to other places before heading to Paris. Except they missed a few opportunities to make it more interesting. For example, there is a scene where they come across soldiers who won't allow them to enter the country. Then, the next scene shows these soldiers killed by them. Instead of actually showing them doing it. This episode also featured an overly emotional Louis that doesn't line up with the nature of a vampire in Anne Rice's world. Jacob Anderson's doesn't have to be as stiff as Brad Pitt's Louis was in the movie version or exactly, how it's described in the book. But this was overkill for sure.
