Alex I love ya buddy! You have an inclined ear for sweetness, tone, and music from the heart, to the heart! Everything you do is truly enjoyable to me, but, this classic of classics ~must~ be kept clean and warm,, as most of your lead statements are! But the back up instruments, and the tone in my opinion,, are too sharp, the highs crowd out any middle tones, and bass tones. I am the HUGEST FAN of Larry Carlton and for 40 years I basically ignored almost every other guitarist out there, excepting Robben Ford, Earl Klugh, Chet Atkins, and a few others. I know you're a fan of Larry's as well! I believe your motif had Larry in mind here! Misty is one of those songs that sort of demand the listener(s) and musicians as well, keep it mellow and clean. If you had warmer instruments backing you up,, maybe acoustic bass, actual violin(s) or synth-strings, to create that warmth and depth, to help you stay warm in your solos and chord voicings. Through a 6,000$ amplification system and 1,000$ of pedals. But I won't deny that the compositional magic and technique is in Alex's amazing hands and hard work. But beautiful tone cost cheddar plain and simple.

Yes but you have to understand that there was no one at that time even close to Guthrie Govan 6 years ago in terms of overall mastery of thee six strings ....except for Alex..That I think is a huge potential not taken care of properly
