    Yea, this series of games is both dead serious gangster story/ bat shit insane peak japan insanity… and a fully functional sega arcade.

    tbh if you start playing yakusa, you should either start with Zero, or yakuza 7 as both are stories about the start of the life of a protagonist

    These games are.... special. A special blend of serious, silly, mundane, and batshit crazy.
    Zabumafu. Wow, that makes me feel the age. I miss that old PBS puppet... And the simpler days of watching him.
    Majima... Of all the.... intense personalities, this guy is probably the most insane. In a non canonical dream sequence when there's a zombie outbreak, his first thought is, "This is going to be so much fun" as he whips out an AR platform chambered in 12 gauge or something like .45-70. His iconic wear is an unbuttoned snakeskin suit.
    I think it might be a translation error when they meant to say, "Never killed anyone without provocation or good reason" but it's way more fun to say he canonically never killed anybody while beating up random goons who try to mug you with a scooter you yoinked off the street until it breaks apart on one of them from the repeated impacts.
    This game will guzzle away your hours of free time. And this is 0 of 7, not counting spinoffs. I'm not saying you won't have fun, but it's a rabbit crater.

    I have to tell you guys. These games are a freaking experience and I can't wait for the new one to come out which I think is actually a remaster of one that was only released in Japan but don't quote me on that.

      Might be wrong, but this isn't THE new yakuza game. It's a different thing altogether, which would mean we're getting that Isshin Remake AND Yakuza 8.

    Yakuza are fucking good for their story , if you want a very deep look into them and their gameplay and other games then tehsnakerer is a real good guy for that, very professional at breaking down games to the smallest detail and regularly makes multi hour videos and really does deep dives while staying engaging.

    Because Baka Mitai has been a reoccurring song in multiple yakuza games. That's why Max0r's keeps using it.

    That hostess minigame can be hard if you have not scoured the map for the side stories. A lot of them lead to new hostesses joining your club. It makes the mini game much easier, especially if you have the purple haired granny. She is the true MVP.
    Personally I managed to do it in about 2-3 hours. It also helps that I remember the hand signs.

    the yakuza series is pretty much is considered as an essential gamer experience, despite the insane and whacky parts of it, Max0r explained it without spoiling it, at this point it's all up to you wether you play it or not.

      Maybe even because the whackiness. It's like a line of ridiculousnes for all those "mafia" games. You have GTA V, then Saints Row 2 as an alternative, then Sleeping Dogs in China and then japanese Yakuza.

    The Yakuza series is a defiant recommend hell the latest game Like a Dragon leans into the bat shit with you forming a turn based adventuring party made up a former Yakuza member with an afro, a homeless man, a ex cop and a brothel mistress to take down a criminal empire... no I'm not kidding.

    I can't recommend the yakuza series enough, there are very few puzzles, and those that exist are pretty simple. Though, fair warning, if you do get into these games, you need to be prepared to cry your fucking eyes out. That said, yakuza Zero is the best starting point if you are interested in the story.*
    *as far as I am as aware, more veteran yakuza players may recommend other starting points.

    Play it and the rest as well, you won't regret it, yes the main story is told completely straight but the side content and everything else is something else I can tell you that, I laughed myself silly at all the unexpected funny/sexy stuff in these Yakuza games.

  • @rickandmortyplaysvideogame4580

    The business is more than a seven hour grind, took me almost a week to finish and that's with only failing one of the fights against the enemy clubs once

    • @rickandmortyplaysvideogame4580
      @rickandmortyplaysvideogame4580 Год назад

      Also side note there are two protagonists in this particular yakuza game (yakuza 0) they both have their own business that they run. Majima's (the cabaret club featured in the video) is very hands on and pretty fun in my experience to grind because you're actually doing something. With Kiryu's Real-estate business you can make a lot more money by the end but it's very hands off as in you activate the mini game and it runs in the background while you do other shit hands off

  • @genericscottishchannel1603
    @genericscottishchannel1603 Год назад +1

    Fun fact, several scenes are actually from Yakuza 1 and 2
    Also the real estate is far easier and pays far more, it gives about a billion yen every few minutes, as opposed to the cabaret club which pays about 100 million after an entire rigamarole
    Also, if you desire to receive sad, 0 and 1 have plenty

    Man, if you haven't played Yakuza 0 yet, i have to say it's one of the better written games not just in the series but ever. It's not a masterpiece of writing but it is a very solid, very emotional game and it will definitely stick with you.

  • @YukoValis
    @YukoValis Год назад

    I had the opposite opinion of the side missions. The real estate was easy and fun. You could wait around and do other things while waiting for your cash. While the night club side mission was a grind and a chore.
