The Dark Forest - Chapter 4 - Eternal Hope (Limbo-esque)

Eternal Hope is a wonderfully unique indie title about losing a loved one that pulls inspirations from games like Limbo and Hollow Knight. If you like Inside, Light Nightmares, Badlands then try this game out.
Doublehit Games, the developer of Eternal Hope, has stated that the Studio Ghibli films were an inspiration for the game, but that description doesn't necessarily do it justice. Instead Eternal Hope sports the stylistic aesthetic of games like Hollow Knight combined with the gameplay and story of Limbo. Eternal Hope is a very dark, horrifying story, and there is ironically very little hope to be found here - but it's still a very moving and deeply satisfying game.

On Eternal Hope you'll follow the story of Ti'bi, a lonely boy who lost the love of his life. Embark on a highly unusual journey - one that might bring your cherished girlfriend’s soul back from the Shadow World, a purgatory-like realm. Granted the ability to travel between dimensions, you will use this power, along with a few helping hands from otherworldly beings, to solve puzzles that will ultimately lead you to your love’s final resting place in the great beyond. Visiting the Shadow World is no easy feat, however. With corrupted creatures inhabiting this mirror dimension, you will make friends - and many enemies - along the way while unearthing ancient secrets, none of which were meant for the living to discover.
