As a long time fan of both Rita and Silvia, I figured they must have run across each other somewhere (both being from Catalunya), but I'd never seen any evidence of that. So this was a complete surprise, and a real treat. You were lucky to have been there for this, and we are lucky that you captured it for us! Thanks so much -- and I hope your luck continues. Rita's Oracion on Imagina, recorded at 18, was the first piece of her I listened to. The emotional power of her interpretation shook me so unexpectedly and very profoundly. And here's precisely an example of why Silvia does not match Rita in originality, a great example of why Rita is truly unique in this kind of music. Of course, their Oracion duet is delightful, but Silvia, with her great singing, does not go beyond the convention, the soulfulness, poetry, expressiveness Rita is exuding is simply not there. Just to be sure, this is not in any way intended to belittle Silvia's beautiful artistry, I enjoy and appreciate it very much.
