@@Binge-Minge Not just fighting muscle memory. He has to fight the years of experience which are more than just mechanics. His game sense is pro level which is why I don't think that these "Road to GC or SSL" are good as they can't really play at the current level. Even if they try not to use high level mechanics they can't turn off their game sense. Their positioning, defense, offense, boost management, and others non-mechanical skills are still at pro level no matter how they try to dumb it down. If they really want to do a "Road to GC or SSL" then they can have an actual rank player play, and then they commentate over it. Just my opinion.

Honestly if anything watching these is a bit discouraging. Last time he did this series it was obvious that his consistency would win him games. The issue is that it takes tons of hours to do anything consistently in rocket league.
Its gonna be the same thing at least until GC. In Plat/Diamond you just need to hit the ball hard and on target, eventually the defense will crack and it'll go in. In Champ you need a little more, but simple flicks or air dribbles will get him to GC just because he does not mess up.

@xero4158 that's the point. He's trying to win games but he's also trying to show players that are in these ranks how to play to get better. It's not just "I'm gonna play to see how fast I can rank up" it's a tips and tricks video with a pro player.
@@xero4158 doubtful its discouraging for most, as it showcases how little you need to do to win games. then from there, practicing all the "little" you need to do, creates fundamentals and consistency. it's not a perfect tutorial, but it can definitely help, given a person wants to learn and put in the work to recreate whats shown in the video.

Thank you squishy for helping me improve my rocket league mechanics, I started off as an ssl in 2004 and started seeing your videos in 2005 and improved to silver from gold.

Dude, the skill level of this game is insane now. These silvers look like plat from his early road to GC series.
I was watching some older RTSSLs from a couple of people and I noticed that a lot. In order to get tips for gameplay that matched mine I had to view episodes from 2 ranks above.
I started playing this in November and I'm now plat and I already get slammed with speedflip kickoffs and some double taps. The biggest problem for most players is decision making and positioning and that's where you see a lot of struggle
@I'm gc 1-2. And I can barely air dribble and I've hit maybe 2 good flip reset goals in my 5000 hours. Positioning is everything. If was more mechanical I could get up to gc3/SSL. But honestly. Positioning will get you to gc
@@MrMeasaftwwhile that used to be true it’s not so much anymore. Very soon if you don’t have high level mechs you will not get into GC.
@@TMJ937 nah fair. And I don't have terrible mechanics. I can hit any ball in the air, like anybody could after 5000 hours. But you right. Even kids with 500 hours can outplay me simply by having very strong flip reset plays or nasty flicks.
But for now. Gc1 is doable with minimal mechanics. SSL is impossible without great mechanics.
The kickoff at 4:10 by your tm8 made me burst out laughing. He looked like a pancake just gracefully jumping and flopping forward into the ball 😂
I love this series! Please stop apologizing for doing better than they do. I am enjoying seeing how just doing the most basic things properly, and just how well it works.

I remember starting RL in 2020 and I ended up Silver 1 or 2. The level of Silver 1 or 2 now is like what Gold 3/Plat 1 was in 2020. This game's ceiling is never ending.

That is exactly whats wrong with RL players in 2024. Too much ball chasing. No game sense at all.
Some even got good car mechanics, but their lack of game sense kills the vibe. Often times forcing me to play something else.

On these video you should 100% watch the pov of one of the players in your lobby and explain things he’s doing wrong; then we get what’s right and wrong at each rank
At the end of each video. Make note of certain examples and go through it for 5 extra minutes or something.

Great video, I'd recommend staying off the back wall for a while. I rarely see defense from there even in champ. Most players are not comfortable at all when their car isn't starting right side up.

I can promise you, after being stuck at silver, gold and platinum for roughly a year and now plateauing at champion 1, I can tell you with confidence, that silvers, are indeed, very dumb.

You are playing way above them! You need to be way more inconsistent. They may attempt to aerial but they will miss like 9/10 times

I can relate on how the silver played with you. As a plat, my teammates in solo queues are really impatient and they really have a struggle with keeping calm and understanding that you don't need to stress at situations where either: You currently are controlling the ball or when the opponents are far away (far away enough for us to be able to take control of the ball without boosting like a maniac) 😅
