I introduced a physically challenged women this summer to lawn bowling. Since she had trouble delivering the bowl, and wanted to give up, I told her about the UBi launcher. After four lessons with it and watching the UTube videos she played her first game, 14 ends and she got four touchers. She was delighted as well as her team mates. She decided to join our club.
Hi Raymond - That's wonderful news! I'm so glad that our Ubi_Launcher® has enabled her to enjoy this great game of Bowls! I've just posted the 3rd in the Ubi_Launcher® Tips videos. Number 3 is all about lining your bowls up to your Point of Aim, using your Ubi_Launcher®. Thanks for posting!
The key to marketability would be to add holders for drinks from the club bar on either side of the Ubi_Launcher. If this helps some of our less mobile members extend their bowling lifetime, it is a positive step forward. However, we will have to add a section to the rulebook to cover cross checking.
+Ralph Ellis Hi Ralph... It has already been sanctioned for play in Canada at club and tournament play and even in several District and Provincial Events leading to National Finals! It's all about inclusion in our sport and the Ubi_Launcher® takes it one giant step closer... easiest to use delivery aid anywhere!
Hi Rod. You can get one from MVP Sports at mvpsports.ca or from one of our agents here in North America, or if in the UK or Europe you can purchase from Taylor Bowls. The price will be standard across Canada ($80) including tax + Shipping.
I've bought two of these and used two others. None of them are up to the quality that I want to see in an eighty dollar tool. The best of the four had me tightening it every second delivery until I drilled a hole and put a screw in. I also added some glue.
The head itself is of a superb strength and quality. As we note, the handle is basically a starter handle, and one we include to get bowlers up and going with the Ubi_Launcher. We recommend that, once the favoured length is found, bowlers either glue or screw the handle together to that length. Occasionally it may slip if over-tightened, or if there is a change in temperature from the time it was tightened to use.
+bo porchuk MVP Sports stocks it in North America (mvpsports.ca) Check mvpsports.ca for an exciting announcement about our UK/Europe distributor (April 1, 2016 announcement)
