- Frankie Laine was better known for his hits in the '40s and '50s, but by the time I knew who he was and heard him on the radio, these were the two that were played.
I had the absolute honour of being a friend of Frank’s. He was a gentleman, and a sincere and considerate human being. A lovely man.
I met him once and agree - a class act!
colin lyne-That's what I can see in him, mainly when he smiles. From Puerto Rico, best wishes from someone who admires Frankie Laine very dearly! October 4/2020.
Zoraida García Best wishes to you too.
@@colinlyne8688 Thanks for your prompt and kind answer! Oct. 4/2020.
Lucky you. I wish I could have just got the chance to tell him how wonderful his voice was. He's up three with the very best if them but does not get the credit he deserves.
Commenting Barbara Gray: when I was performing as a singer and pianist I stole this from Frankie I loved it enjoyed hearing him sing it and I enjoyed singing it myself. I once sent Frankie a card when he was very real wishing him well and I got the sweetest letter from him I still have it among my souvenirs yes he was a very very good Entertainer I loved him ever since I heard him sing and the the hit song That's My Desire many many years ago rest in peace Frankie.
Some people think Frankie was a western singer, but anyone who has followed him through the years knows this is not so. He had such a great voice! Thanks for posting.
This whole album was great and who would ever think Frankie was a country singer?
No one in this world, could sing like Frankie Laine ...........I am a long time fan of this great man. These two songs just brings tears to my eyes, theyre done so beautifully.
Add to my playlist # 1
I love this mans voice! He was before my time but his time was more my time than my own time if you know what I mean.
I also remember these two Frankie Laine songs playing on the radio around 1967/68. Love both of these songs. He was an excellent vocalist.
The words to this song hit the nail right on the head peace and love.
I requested Makin Memories on the radio station that my two friends made me a copy of it for my 60th birthday. Thanking them so much. The station is AM 740 Zoomermedia owned by the one and only "Master of Music",Mr Moses Znaimer. 📻🎶🎶🎙 Yhank you Moses,Frank Proctor and Jane's Patrick Dooley. 😀🌈🦋
I love both those songs...gets me right in the pit of my stomach!! So romantic...dance the night away!!
My dad brought the 45 of "I'll Take Care Of Your Cares" home in 1967 or 1968 and we played it all the time. I still have it. Whenever I hear Frankie Laine I think of Dad. I would love to find a background track for this song so that I could record it myself.
such great tunes by a master ....mom really loved to hear me sing these tunes before she passed away.
My favourite singer of all time and singing one of my favourite songs , what more could anyone ask for.
I loved Frankie Laine and saw him in person many times!
Frankie Laine was marvelous

Making memoriesmych better
i love this song,so smooth. he has a great voice, too
Love this hit by Frankie Wow.
Why isn’t I’ll take good care of your cares on the play list I want to buy it.
I wouldn't be quite as extravagant in my praise as MTM, but this is a great post. And it is hard to imagine someone else singing these 2 songs quite as well. These are from Frankie's years at ABC records and he had some great recordings there. Frankie probably sang better at an advanced age than anyone I can remember. When he was 85, he sang better than most 50 year olds.
Brings back memories of my grandma- I love you and miss you ,arbuelita !!
A CLASSIC
I used to sing this song for the public and the customers loved it. Very few of them knew that the song was written by a man for his son who was serving in WW2. Makes it even more poignant, to me.
Thanks so much for putting it up and bringing back many memories of the 80's.
Could this be Sir Albert Cahn's father? Can you give me any more facts about who the Composerr was? I did a 'reply' farther down the 'Comments' below. My name is Dennis Sibbert. I'm at sibbert@aol.com
"I'll Take Care of Your Cares" was recorded by Franklyn Baur in 1926, so it was around long before World War 2. It was also recorded in the 1920's by the Astorites. Both postings are available on the Internet Archive. It was written by Mort Dixon and James V. Monaco, two songwriters who wrote many popular songs of the '20's. In the original versions, you an hear the intro lyrics and it's about a man singing to a woman with whom it didn't work out romantically. He's singing that he won't love her less for going to another, but if the sun doesn't shine, just remember that he will be there to take care of her cares, should she want him to do so.
"Making Memories" was apparently a new song written by Larry Kusik and Ed Snyder, two songwriters who wrote quite a few songs in the 1960's.
Vincent Monaco who was born in Formia, Italy and came to Chicago, Illinois when he was six years old. From information online I gathered, it seems I'll Take Care of Your Cares was written back in 1927, so theres a discrepency between that date and the year you claim Frnklyn Baur recorded it. The point is that there probably was a father who knew the song and its lyrics and related them to his son who was in the war. Hopefully he made it back alive and well.
These records did get FL back on the radio and charts--even if it was the "Easy Listening" segment--for the first time in years.
Very nice songs. I was looking for the first one for a 50th anniversary party coming up and both work nice!!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful posting.
Really lovely, and much appreciated.
I'll take care of your cares and Making memories is a great foxtrot rhythm for dancing.

Frankie laine absolutely my favourite ❤
My pleasure. Thank you for your comment.
@TheElliedee - I had a very similar experience, with my mom passing very suddenly and my dad also played this recording all the time. He was so broken hearted, I don't think he ever fully recovered from her death. Thissong is very personal to me because of that experience.
RIP MOM !!
Yes, agree
@GoddessTides My pleasure. Thank you.
@cf1934 Actually, Frankie put more records on the R&B charts than the Country charts.
1967? i thought "I'll Take Care...." was from earlier 1960s I was only 8 then so what did i know😂
