      I am sorry but I don't see any Assyrian speak like this or say Assyrian Kurds. There's Assyrian and there's Kurds... not Assyrian kurds. When does an Assyrian say we are shia or sunni? I feel your love of your homeland but the wording, maybe the translation error, doesn't sound right. You sure you are Assyrian? Nor kurd or Chaldean? Peace to you 🕊🔆🙏💕

    Disclaimer: this is my interpretation of the lyrics. Some words, sentences, and their meanings my be lost in translation.
    Aunty oh Aunty
    Auntie oh Auntie,
    Auntie oh Auntie,
    Auntie, how is it that you have not known my situation?
    I will not condemn you, oh Auntie, for anything that you (pejoratively) said.
    Auntie, how is it that you have not known my situation?
    I will not condemn you, oh Auntie, for anything that you (pejoratively) said.
    You are the one that spent their life living in comfort;
    And you have never (in your life) witnessed criticism (from others), nor have you ever been enamoured (as I now have).
    What is there to restrain the lover (with),
    Oh Auntie?

    Oh Auntie?
    With not my eye, and not with my (other) eye;
    With not my eye, and not with my (other) eye;
    With not did my Eye had witnessed any sleep in her absence,
    And my heart, it in its weak, dry state, can it handle any woes?
    With not did my Eye had witnessed any sleep in her absence,
    And my heart, it in its weak, dry state, can it handle any woes?
    Her milieu reprimand me, and I carry the reprimands,
    And the peoples’ reprimands strike me like lethal arrows.
    What is there to restrain the lover (with),

    And I, in her love, scream “Woe, oh my woes!”
    Oh Auntie, her love tortures the will,
    And I, in her love, scream “Woe, oh my woes!”
    Perplexed am I, with my tear when the night arrives,

    My Soul, oh my Soul,
    My Soul, oh my Soul,
    Perplexed I am, oh my Soul, on what has befallen me,
    My eyes remain watchful throughout the nights
    Perplexed I am, oh my Soul, on what has befallen me,
    My eyes remain watchful throughout the nights
    Just like the state of candles, oh Auntie, my state is as such,
    My mind is cluttered and her mind is clear.

      pure joy and enthusiasm and no restraint. this song is a masterpiece. thank you so much for sharing it. i have many iraqi and other middle eastern friends. the paradox of the middle eastern people in this regions is their ability for joy, singing and dancing whilst also reaching your heart with the bitter sweet laments. so poignant. so glad i found iraqi culture. Thank you so much for this translation. it was so kind of you.

      blessedby786 yes they are called zanj or zanaj. They are mixed of Arabs and eastern Africans. And speak a mixed language called Swahili which is mixed of various East African languages, Bantu and Arabic. They are mostly in the Southern part of iraq and only marry amongst themselves they number around 2 million.
