    For future reference (I love Epoxy Resin projects) I found a great way to contain the drips. #1 use Acetate sheets (cut to size/shape as needed) any holes or lips/edges that you want to contain. # 2 use Wrestling Mat Tape to hold the acetate where needed and to make dams. The Acetate won't stick to the resin as bad, and the wresting mat tape is flexible and can conform to any shape you need and it is SUPER strong--much stronger than duct tape. I Have done an entire live edge cedar bar, shelves, table tops, etc with rotted holes and strips and I absolutely love it. I love this project and will definitely be using some of your techniques in the future. Good luck on your next project...I look forward to seeing it.

    . Bravo! Great looking sink. Cool idea. Turned out very nicely. I have one suggestion. Try to tie the boards in the barrel head together with plywood glued/screwed to the underside. The pressure from being driven together is usually the only thing that holds them in place. I would hate to see all of your time and effort compromised by the wood shrinking. Could cause cracks or the boards could loosen to the point that the tops fails. Cheers! Whipple

      On further review of your video, it appears the head may have been joined in some fashion. Maybe even glued. You might be in good shape. Cheers! Whipple

    i mounted my faucet before glueing down the sink on mine. just made it easier to get it fastened down good and tight instead of having to get inside the barrel to do it. nice instructional video tho. gave me a few ideas before tackling mine

    Beauty! Thanks for the inspiration. I think I'll figure out a way to strap the boards for the door/barrel from the inside instead of using the screws, and spray the metal bands with a brown/rust colored Rustoleum (or copper Rustoleum with antiquing effects) to better match the overall look. Otherwise... perfection!

    Great job on the barrel vanity. Why don't you fine a barrel cork and use that as a stopper. If wears out just get another one and replace it.

    Nice idea. My personal taste I don't care for the silver bands with the black hardware. As you stated previously, may come more together in it's intended location.

      We can always change out the black hardware later. But wait till you see it in the 1/2 bath. There is Galvanized, black, aged bronze accents in the room. I think it will help tie it all together.

    What type of hole saw did u use to cut through the metal bands. Thanks. Barrel looks amazing!

    • @CountryViewAcres
      @CountryViewAcres  3 года назад +1

      It was just a normal hole saw. They are normally rated to cut wood and metal.

    Hey. Have you recorded making layers of wood underneath and router it out then put polyurathane inside instead of a normal sink. I seen a picture of this in pincriste app. Thanks

    It Looks really nice, it's really pretty, but it kinda sticks out quite a bit from the wall..did you guys ever contemplate at the beginning cutting it in half (or cutting a third off of the end) to make it flush with the wall? :)

    • @CountryViewAcres
      @CountryViewAcres  6 лет назад +1

      My wife got this idea off pinterest. We never really considered cutting it down. The Barrel is about 27 inches in diameter. So it is a little deeper than a standard cabinet. But I think it will work out on when it is in the half bath.

    I love it! What size sink did you get and what did you end up doing with the sink drain? Any help please we are looking to buy online. Thanks and Great job!

    • @CountryViewAcres

      I believe it is a 17" wide oval sink. We ended up ordering a drain from "sinkology" on amazon. You can see the drain in the video I posted on the half bath, where we installed the barrel sink.

  • @jenniferjohnson5179

    My barrel top was a bit uneven so I used clear tub and tile silicone to contain the resin. The key is to cut the opening for the sink as small as possible. The sink lip covers where the silicone was.
