Great find Rick... Back then we only had TV to see the episode and no way of slowing it down.. As far as the trainer doing the scene, I think it may have been dangerous for him wearing a scary black mask and cape. The tiger could have reacted in a more aggressive or confused manner and harmed him.. Another mustache trivia... Ceasar Romero (The Joker) refused to shave his off in all his appearances and they just ended up plastering it with the face color to try and mask it...

There are two good reasons for that; 1) we viewers could not have seen the Bat Ear Plugs if Batman had inserted them under his cowl, 2) the cowl fit Adam West's head so tightly, there was no room for Batman to have inserted anything under them.

I remember watching the episode. Cat woman had Robin tied up on a plank and was lowering him into a den of tigers and Robin said”Cat Woman, you are not a nice person.”
    I guess he told her!
Also while Batman was avoiding the tiger, Cat Woman says, “ you better be quick, Batman. That tiger has not eaten all day .”
Batman replies “ you should take better care of your pets, Cat Woman. They are your responsibility.”
Even with his life on the line, he wants to send a good moral message.

I have heard and read that Burt Ward/Robin actually was suspended over a den of tigers for that scene. Ward does claim that because his mask exposed most of his face, he had to perform almost all his own stunts, unlike Adam West/Batman who had a stunt double for the fights.

If Police Squad was made just 10 or 15 years earlier, then this Batman show would have more mimic that type of humor. I say that because Batman '66 was intentionally meant to be a satire, spoof, or comedy on the comic legend. So "No" would be my answer. Leave the silliness of the exposed hand. It goes beautifully well with the tone and humor of this iconic gem of a show.

I was actually hoping you would reveal where the platform was for West/Batman to stand on when he's putting in his Bat Ear Plugs.

Cesar Romero, who played the Joker had a very distinct mustache. He too, would not shave it off so they put gobs of white make up to cover it. If you look closely at the joker, you can actually see that he is sporting a mustache beneath his white makeup.
Another issue or photograph trickery was when Batman and Robin were scaling the building with the rope. They were actually walking across a floor turned sideways. There was strings that pulled their capes straight back to make it look like they were going up the building. The guest star who peered through the window was actually coming up through a floor hatch door. Noticed that Batman and robins cape were perfectly rolled straight back, and Batman’s cape was not, or I should say Robin, who was in front, his cape never was touching Batman, who was directly behind him.

There is this thing all you "youngsters" forget. The old school CRT TVs had what is called "overscan". What it boils down to is this. There is a 7 - 10% boarder all the way around the image that was NEVER seen by viewers watching on the standard TV screens. That part of the image has only become visible when we started watching on digital flat panels. So its no surprise producers would let a gaff like this go. They knew 99% of viewers would never see that.

Over analyzing as seems to be the norm here on YT. Honestly,...this show was for kids. As a kid, I took the entire series seriously and couldn't wait for the next episode! I was watching for the fights, the gadgets and for the cool Bat Cave EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! I MEAN WHO CARES about the imperfections? Not a a 7 year old kid! To me, what is even more comical is how with all of our impeccable attention to detail and "perfection" and technology today... we still have multi million dollar productions that miss a Starbucks cup sitting out during a period scene.
    Stuff happens! 😂

Almost as funny when Alfred plays as Batman, and no one notices that it's not Adam West-Batman, again with the mustache.😂😂😂

It's good that I found out about these follies about what I never knew took place on the Batman TV series set. Do you now know why I'm also in favor of the New Adventures of Batman cartoon series? You know very well that Batmite was the new character who was welcomed aboard.

The things you can see today on a 55"+ tv in HD could not be seen in the 1960s and 1970s on 12-20 inch 480i screens... so lots of things like the mustache and hand-holding the swiping paw could be done then since they didn't matter at the time

The tiger paw thing might very well be intentional.

She actually did make one appearance in Season Two, but as "damsel in distress," Lisa Carson, in the third of Victor Buono's five appearances as King Tut, my favorite villain. @@ricknineg

Yeah, go watch the old black and white Superman show. Bad guys would empty entire pistols into him and he would stand there, bullets bouncing off his chest. When they ran out of bullets, they would throw the guns at him, and he would duck.

A lot of the magic of Hollywood has gone now thanks first to home video and then the internet. Back then, once the TV show had aired, or the movie had left the theater, there was no way to view them again, or find these things much less make an entire video about them.
