Wow, thanks! I've done similar tricks on emulators in the past, it was so cool to finally be able to use keyboard and mouse on real hardware 😎 Thanks for creating this awesome project. I was considering building a receiver myself, but I couldn't figure where to find the n64 connectors. Now I'm considering getting BlueRetro for all my consoles.
I'm also considering making a separate tutorial video about BlueRetro, like I've done for other topics I've covered in the past. Just need to think what to include, since you can do so much with it 😊
Ya, i was trying to do the similar thing this weekend but after several hours I concluded that Im unable to get second controller recognised by games. Anyway reconfigurations in webapp is great and Bro always demands me to set his controls to his liking. Each game different config. Works great. Fast and easy
Did you set Device 2 destination to Output 1? That's what I had to do to get keyboard and mouse working. Should have probably shown that in the video 😅 But maybe I'll make a tutorial about that
@@joonamo I know this. I cant make imputs from second controller to register anywhere no matter the setting. In the past i recorded and uploaded vid showing 2 controllers connected and working in game. I cant even do this now. Both controllers connected to adapter and thats it. Luckily i have two adapters so I can play with Bro but no weird setting for me till it start working again

Great video, seeing you use the 8bitdo GBros adapter and gamecube controller got me thinking whether I could use it with the gamecube version of this blue retro adapter.
@retroshane8844 Nintendo 64 games are quite laggy sub-30 fps overall, so I can't really say 😅 The blue retro adapter itself should have minimal lag, but I've experienced some lag for other 8bitdo wireless controllers especially when there's more than one used at the same time. Probably good enough for Mario Sunshine, but maybe not for competitive Smash
I ordered a smoke grey one, bought 2 N64 bluetooth controllers (one still in the box) and wanted it just for my N64… finally have a way to use it! Can’t wait to compare it to the OG controller, the ultra64 brawler wireless and the ultra64 tribute64… so many good choices!
I was reading a review on 8bitmods where someone assigned a rumble pak to controller pak toggle to the home button on the official wireless n64 controller and it worked fine apparently
8bitdo actually has made a N64 controller replica, but they don't mention it on their website. I think it wasn't very popular, especially since you couldn't use it with the actual system. Here's a review I found www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/12/hardware_review_retro-bit_x_8bitdo_rb8-64_bluetooth_controller
The only thing that's missing is Transfer Pak support. Once they find a way to import saves from the GB games, this will be the definitive way to play N64 games.
I'm sure there are, but if you care about input lag, you probably shouldn't use them. I'm using the cheapest Retrotink 2x Mini with my N64. All full screen gameplay you can see in this video is captured with the Tink Mini 😏
I connect my n64 with s-video cables to a Retrotink Mini hdmi converter. N64 is notoriously difficult to connect to modern displays with decent quality
@@joonamo I appreciate the info. It looks like the The RetroTINK-2X pro is the minimum model that would do the job. So if I had the Retrotink, how would I cable that into the N64? I have the US console that doesn't seem to have an S-video out....just the flat weird Nintendo proprietary video out.
@jshepard152 the Nintendo connector actually outputs composite and s-video, you just need a cable. Retrotink with the default cables is already a big improvement. I checked some US retro stores like Castlemania and Stone Age Gamer, but they were currently out of stock. There's also an adapter called Rad2x that is based on Retrotinks, but they can also be a bit difficult to find. I have a S-Video cable to Retrotink Mini! Those cables are incredibly rare for PAL consoles, but videogameperfection.com/ had them in stock at one point. Nintendo never made first party ones for poor Europeans. 50hz composite was apparently enough for us 🧐
Ähm... what "Bluetooth" N64 Controller ist it in this Video? I only know the "8 bitdo N64 bluetooth Controller", which hast become very rare. And: Does it work well with the 8 bitdo N64 bluetooth Controller?
I have two of the official Nintendo Switch Online N64 controllers, which they had for sale for a short while after they first brought N64 games for the Switch. Unfortunately Nintendo doesn't sell them any more and you'll have look for them at places like eBay. I don't know if the 8bitdo N64 controllers work, since I don't have them. Other 8bitdo controllers work perfectly, so there's a high chance they work too. 😊
@@joonamo Ah, ok 👍🏻 the official controller is hard to get. Then I think the Brawler64 or Hyperkin Admiral are the alternatives. I thought the Nintendo trident is there again anywhere. Ok.
Btw, do you know any other good solutions for controller pak saving? I am mostly interested in using it for that, because I am happy using my refurbished horipad controller. I did FRAM controller pak mods in the past, but that still does not let one back up saves (unless you have an everdrive).
I'm really happy to finally see someone dare go into the config on detail! Best video about BlueRetro so far!!

Cool! I also bought my Switch n64 controllers for the chance to eventually use them with real n64. I've never even had the Switch N64 subscription 😂
I'm still confused. Choosing the both option for rumblepak and memorypak causes errors in N64 games? Is there a toggle button to switch between them?
You can select just memory or rumble separately. There's also option to map toggles to some buttons, but I find the settings app easier
@@joonamo So we set a toggle button on your controller allowing us to toggle memory or rumble on the fly?
I was reading a review on 8bitmods where someone assigned a rumble pak to controller pak toggle to the home button on the official wireless n64 controller and it worked fine apparently
