“The good old days” was a simple reference to America going back to unity despite party affiliation or political bent. Tom and the others do NOT want to return to oppression.
Tom is oppression he is oppressing you into a singular mindset that is designed to divide and not to unite? The left and right want you to chose a side a corruption sided regardless. So at the end of the day the fact tom's music is celebrated and platformed on RUclips, iTunes etc shows what a puppet he is and how he is designed to.manipulate you and to make you think a certain way.
The line is also "I just pray we go back to the old days, land of the free home of the brave" which I agree more implies back to the "old days" of loving this country instead of hating it. If I'm not mistaken, this came out around the same time Tom had a line in another song "most of the Americans all hate America" so it's something that's been discussed by these artists in other ways as well.
Rosalie, as you know we all have light and darkness within us. These monuments, of what you consider evil people, also had light and darkness within them as well. The problem is history remembers only what it likes and what it hates and defines those individuals as such. It creates an illusion that good and evil can be separated. It can not. All of these talks about what should stay and what should go is merely a tool of division. Look at how they create the hate of an object and then transfer that hate onto people who look similar to that object. It’s not the monument they want to get rid of, it’s the people they associate with it. You can’t kill the monster without becoming the monster.
I've always taken statues of people like robert e lee as a reminder of what NOT to do. Taking them down might make people FEEL better for a little while, but deleting history dooms our future generations.
Amala is a gem. And she's so sweet and logical yet not afraid to one speaker mind and definitely not afraid of compromising and making things work towards a better end. I really enjoy her videos.
When he said "back to the good old days" he was just talking about going back to when there wasn't so much division, and when people loved our country. He wasn't talking about going back 1 or 2 hundred years. There was a lot of division and (atrocities) back then too. We came so far as Americans, and now it seems we're going backwards
Great reaction and thoughts. Adam and Struggle are traditional American conservatives, Tom doesn't like being labelled but many see him as a Libertarian that has had enough of the hypocritical progressive left. This album started because Adam dissed Tom as just being a gimmick, Tom saw this and got in touch and they argued on the phone, an hour later they hung up as friends and kept in touch, a year later they did this collaboration. They are all independent but Tom is making waves and people notice him. #HOG UK always here for it. 'You march a lot but never go the distance, shout a lot 'til no one listens.' I am from the Netherlands and have lived in the USA for 45 years now. I am in agreement with Bernie Sanders and am myself a "democratic socialist". Is that considered "hypocritical progressive left"? I am a little confused and feel I may not understand the labels. Please explain. Thank you.
@@ravondal1958 I'm dual nationality British/Canadian although I started Kindergarten in Los Angeles California, the hypocritical socialists like Bernie Sanders and Bill Gates with their multiple priorities and jetting all around the world, while telling us to watch our carbon footprint, accusing a US president of Russia collusion because he won against the odds against professional politicians, calling on the black vote but after winning never improving the cities where they live. Going after Trump while ignoring what Clinton did and don't get me started on the Biden's. Liberal has become very illiberal when you rubbish all those with an opposing opinion. Democrats are not democratic when they spend all their time trying to overturn a democratic result (in that I'm also referring to Brexit)
No part of history should be removed. You can not look upon these people from the past and apply the standards of today to them. So look upon them and realize how far we have come.

I like your breakdown, don’t entirely agree on every point, but that’s not a problem. You are tackling this from a rational, reasonable, and cultural standpoint and was delivered in a concise and productive way. Thanks for your perspective on these matters. I think more conversations could happen from this place across our country with productivity in mind we would be in a much less divisive place as a nation. Most of that divisiveness though is amplified by the media by design, something that plagues our society these days
Tom does call out politicians a lot, but he also covers social issues, which you haven't done any reactions to. Songs like "I Wish", "Cancer" and "Castles".
Great reaction. One of my favorite songs. On the statue and bridge issue, I have a bit different take on that. If the person done something that warranted being memorialized while they were living, what right do we have today, to compare them to today's standards and remove their statue. They done something that their peers deemed worthy regardless of how they lived their lives. IMHO, we should not remove any history... An example, Franco used fascistic means, but he saved Spain from the socialists and anarchists who were trying to destroy the country. Would you remove his statues for being a bad person who saved his country?
Presentism, I think it's called. I agree with this a lot. A problem even beyond that is who chooses. Currently our choices are being forced and f anyone that wants to keep them standing, or even in a museum because they're flat out destroying them.
Precisely not everyone is going to have the passion that others are for every cause and we need the differences because when life happens and things go bad you need not just the ones taking care of one issue but you need the other passions that will take care of the other issues so that as a whole we can come together and heal
For me, the problem with the modern day being allowed to remove statues etc is that I would challenge anyone to find a person in history that is 100% virtuous. Heck, even MLK jr has skeletons. If we go be the merit of virtue, who is the arbiter? Too many of this is virtue signaling but what happens if the opposite side comes to power? I’d much rather we add a plaque to the statues that explains the nuance involved. Now, if the statute has no significance to the area it is in, then I’d be ok removing it.
exactly that. In the town I live we have that. There is a rock that honors a person on one side for all the good he has done after leaving the town and country, but on the other side of the rock it points out all the bad he has done here which led to him leaving and moving to another country. I think this is how statues should be handled. There is always good and bad when it comes to people. And this way history won't be removed but it is shown that things are usually not black and white and a lot more complex than most people would like.

I totally agree with your statement, the bad needs to be remembered just as much if not more than the good. If not history will be repeated. Monuments need not be torn down , perhaps renamed or dedicated to progress. ( Immortilze the immorall to show how all people can advance society.
The only problem is where does it stop and who makes the decisions on what is blatantly evil because in their time most of these Men were the great men of their time and were instrumental in building the greatest country ever known. As we evolve then yes we can see the faults that these Great Men had but instead of keeping those monuments up that pass down the knowledge that even the greatest of men have made mistakes so the greatness should be appreciated and the faults be acknowledged and learned from and both passed on to the next generations. Even MLK was not close to perfect he committed adultery over and over aswell as abusive to women but thats not what is focused on and his statues monuments and so on are not torn down as they absolutely should not be. Was it wrong what he did yes so that should definitely be understood but his greatness of all the good he did should still be praised and celebrated and remembered forever. Good ol days is speaking on how the patriotic spirt has been systematicly disassembled by inflaming division with propaganda delivered by those in power to gain more power. In generations past most houses on every street in this nation flew a flag and were very patriotic including minorities that were living through the times of racial bias. If you talk to an older generation Black Man or Woman they are still greatful for the privilege to have been born and live in America. The first thing an invading power has done over and over throught all human history is to erase the concored peoples history, religion and pride of country and cause division between the patriots trying to keep fighting for there freedom and their country and the rest of the population then those people forget their past and become submissive to the new people in power. To the kneeling and burning flags, the American Flag belongs to the patriots, the military men and the veteran that drew power and moral reminding them those they left beshind to fight for it does not belong to the citizens that chose not to fight thats why the flag is saluted because its giving thanks and respect to those of us who volunteered to fight and die for a country that we knowingly may never see again. All of this used to be understood but has gone away by canceling and deleting history and if we continue to do this our country will destroyed itself from the inside out. Research, understand and discuss history celebrate the good and learn and understand the bad to continue to build a more perfect nation but stop erasing the history. If you walk into the woods but dont pay attention to the rout youve taken youll turn around to realize that you are lost and have no idea how you got were you are so now not only can you not go back where you came from there is no moving forward and you now have to start all over.
The chorus makes me cry because I am a young patriotic small town American 22 year old who was born with a disability that my parents put me on SSI and I have dreams that I want to accomplish but am always road blocked by income limits and any attempt to make a livable wage is nixed by the Social Security Administration and am forced into systemic poverty. I have been evicted from every place I lived and have and have lost every car I've every owned because being unable to keep insurance and pay for repairs that I can't handle myself. Nor do I have any support from my family
When it comes to statues and monuments “honouring” corrupt and evil people, I believe it sends an important message that some bad individuals will be admired and propped up. Question everyone’s motives because even devils will be sainted. Always be vigilant and never trust fully. It is a sad reality.
Great reaction as always I really like Tom I also Like Struggle and Adam as well none of them have a filter and although it is political it makes alot of sense and I didnt hear any lies in this I like that they dont pull punches and say it like they see it as always your ride or die forever EyyyyOoooo
When I think of good ol days... I'm thinking of the late 80s and 90s early 2000s.... before 2005... jokes were offensive and hilarious.... freedom of speech and true... everyone wasn't pussified. Movies were good, music was good... economy was so much better then now... food and gas was cheap... kids were playing outside.. food and water wasn't as poisoned as now.... idk.
@Rosalie Reacts I'd love to see you react to more of Tom. He is actually the reason I found all the other independent artist I've come to love. But you have to start at the beginning of when he blew up! "Dear rappers"
The conversation about monuments is an ineresting one. On one hand I agree bad people should not be celebrated, however a monument existing is also telling history. If a country has a monument to an evil person, that is history. Who had it built? When was it built? Why did they build it at the time? How do they feel about this person now?
The key I believe is to become less dependent upon the government the people wharvest our food and teach our children and protect our families in other words if we make our own food we know What we're eatin If we teach our own children we don't have to worry about them learning about 6 or 5 years old or any that crazy stuff going on in the public schools and I stopped watching TV4 years ago I have no idea what's going on in the world and I love it Oh and also protect yourself man you don't need to call another man to come protect your family the man is to protect a family it goes God man woman child
This video was made Because they made another one for the album but somehow the computer corrupted the file. This song was needed more then the other song. The other song was revenge.
Great reaction! Loved everybody's bars but those "Struggle Jennings" bars were epic. Fav bars "We just want the life promised by our Fathers" Thanks! #HangOverGang
The only caveat i would add to your soapbox is that many times, people today want to hold historical persons or events to today's social standards. That is disingenuous. While we know now that our founding fathers made mistakes by today's standards for social equality, it in no way diminishes the good they and many others did in history that were considered "the norm" in that time frame. Most historical persons we honor did heinous acts by today's standards. Whether it's invading other land, persecuting persons of other religions, public horrible executions and torture, etc. We should not automatically hold historical acts of barbarism, philosophy or lifestyles to those of todays standards in our advanced Age of Reason. Even The Bible teaches us God killed many people in heinous ways (flood, plagues, cities like Sodom and Gamorrah etc) all for the sake to establish a better world. Every flag around the world is covered in a little blood.
It's definitely like a pendulum it always goes to the next extreme if it's going to one extreme in the first place the balanced Middle ground is where we need to find unfortunately nobody ever wants to step down and say hey look I'll concede this if you can see that because the one party or the one person saying all concede this if you can see that the other ones like no or its and the other person is trying to compromise and you're the one saying nope. Now I get that everybody has certain things they will not compromise on but not every issue in the world should be held to that I mean like if I want coffee in the morning and my husband does to I'm not going to go make my caramel coffee unless it's a special occasion because I know he prefers the regular or french vanilla but I do have days where I get my caramel coffee that's compromised I don't need to have caramel coffee every day he doesn't need to have regular coffee everyday and I'm not trying to downplay any issue I'm just trying to give an example and this example can be used for more pressing issues in the similar manner.the other problem we have is it's too easy nowadays just to say and walk away nobody wants to take the time it takes to put the work into making relationships work which means that relationships aren't just physical and emotional okay we have situational relationships we have social relationships work relationships I eat on and on and on and so if you want healthy relationships in every aspect you put compromising to every aspect not just the ones you want to. Or am I wrong am I off in left field somewhere?
People overlook the facts about the person you see as evil. They lived in their timelines not ours and their environment was changing just as ours. Those statues are not about what we see as evil they did today they are there to reveal the changes they made from evil to doing good for the nation. They may have had slaves but later in their lives they became those that became the strongest voices against slavery. Those statues represent and remind us of how far we have came as a nation in the hope that we will never repeat it. Without these reminders we are doomed to repeat them.
Struggle is Waylon's grandson.I would call his genre country gospel. If you're not familiar with Struggle you may want to check out the song he referenced in his verse: Cries of the Crusader. In God we Trust in this instance means the things are so messed up we need to turn back to God for our moral compass instead of trusting in your fellow man who may or may not be trustworthy.
IMO, the best artists in this niche right now: Hi-Rez with Jimmy Levy. Top songs: - This Is A War - God Over Government - Welcome To The Revolution Jimmy Levy's voice is incomparable
nope. i stand by what i said. i do understand where they are coming from. but not everything was sunshine after 75 either. it always depends on who you ask. that is fact. fact over feelings remember? ;)
The struggle Jennings is talking about putting your armor of God on in other words you said that we're in the end times and is obvious so put your armor got on and get ready to fight because that's what's going to come down to you either with God or you're not that's simple as it gets that's a simple as it gets

“The good old days” was a simple reference to America going back to unity despite party affiliation or political bent. Tom and the others do NOT want to return to oppression.
I think it could also be referring to the economy we used to have pre "war on poverty" cause it was Reagan's slogan, too.

This is why Toms music is so powerful. It starts conversations that we need to have.

Second video of yours ive seen and enjoyed. You got a new fan and sub.
THE FIGHTER MAKING MUSCLES WAS ADAMS SON , HE ONE HIS 1st MME FIGHT JUST BEFORE THIS VIDEO WAS MADE !!!
When it comes to statues and monuments “honouring” corrupt and evil people, I believe it sends an important message that some bad individuals will be admired and propped up. Question everyone’s motives because even devils will be sainted. Always be vigilant and never trust fully. It is a sad reality.

so happy to see this reaction and thoughts from you.
101% AGREE, With your thoughts, Great reaction,to a Great song !!!!
Great reaction as always I really like Tom I also Like Struggle and Adam as well none of them have a filter and although it is political it makes alot of sense and I didnt hear any lies in this I like that they dont pull punches and say it like they see it as always your ride or die forever EyyyyOoooo
In Rosalie we trust.
oh heck no. haha. i'm gonna let you down eventually. stick with God.
When I think about in God we trust I think about the signing of our constitution and what our country was founded on. It’s not just a saying.
When I think of good ol days... I'm thinking of the late 80s and 90s early 2000s.... before 2005... jokes were offensive and hilarious.... freedom of speech and true... everyone wasn't pussified. Movies were good, music was good... economy was so much better then now... food and gas was cheap... kids were playing outside.. food and water wasn't as poisoned as now.... idk.
valid point! i see what you mean. thank you for sharing that. agreed.
@Rosalie Reacts I'd love to see you react to more of Tom. He is actually the reason I found all the other independent artist I've come to love. But you have to start at the beginning of when he blew up! "Dear rappers"
Thank you for your informative, commonsensical reaction. Great video, echoes many of my convictions.
Hey, just wondering when the next NF reaction is out? Keep up the good work !

The bad pretend to be good! You have to dig deep to find their truth.
This video was made
Because they made another one for the album but somehow the computer corrupted the file. This song was needed more then the other song. The other song was revenge.
Great reaction.. just wondering why you left Struggle out? His were the hardest hitting lyrics.
Every flag around the world is covered in a little blood.
very valid points.
Love this song
sounds silly but loved that eh oh at the end..
Tom is a Canadian Import, he lives in the US.
who determines what is good and bad?
Rosalie please listen California dreaming by Diana Ankudinova from show mask ninth episode of the show. Diana took off mask and sang this song
We need more nf 🙏😊😁
"In God We Trust" is not a slogan, it's a way of life.
Love your reactions, super excited to see the rest of NF’s new album!! there’s some in there you would love
They've been friends for 15 years and together as a couple for 6 years
Nova is Tom's girlfriend and she directs films and edits all his videos
Top songs:
- This Is A War
- God Over Government
- Welcome To The Revolution
Jimmy Levy's voice is incomparable
I love God over Government! I'm not religious in any sense, but I still put "God" over government. 😂
Chexk out American Flags and/or Your America by Tom MacDonald.
If you have the time try to listen to Adam Calhoun's 'Racism'. Brilliant song and no holds barred.
All these people were born after 1975 so you might want to rethink some of your answers
nope. i stand by what i said. i do understand where they are coming from. but not everything was sunshine after 75 either. it always depends on who you ask. that is fact. fact over feelings remember? ;)
I think he's talking about the constitution when he says its history and changing it.
recommend cry for help by struggle jennings
Please, please give a listen to Struggle Jennings "God We Need You Now" with Caitlyn Curtis.
Struggle is Waylon Jennings step grandson
The struggle Jennings is talking about putting your armor of God on in other words you said that we're in the end times and is obvious so put your armor got on and get ready to fight because that's what's going to come down to you either with God or you're not that's simple as it gets that's a simple as it gets
Cancer, Castles, Church, Sober, Withdrawals = some more favorites from Tom.
