Cooper was a great defensive center
He definitely was the best at defence but weirdly he became the dragons all time try scorer in the end instead of gasnier

@@stelpanagakos2520 Cooper did play 4 or 5 more seasons in the NRL than Gasnier did. Gasnier left for almost 2 seasons to play Rugby Union in Paris then came back to the Dragons for a year and a half and retired in 2011. I think Cooper retired at end of 2014.

I think they would have, Cooper just about outplayed every centre he directly marked. And it wasn't because of his attacking prowess. He would shut his opposition centre down defensively and would nullify their attack. In attacking raids, his best trait was being in the right space at the right time to score or set up his outside winger. There are better attacking Centres than Cooper but he has on many occasions shut down every opposing centre he has faced.
lol what, of course they worried about him. That position was far more dangerous back then than it is nowadays. Pretty much any centre who played at origin level at that time was a threat.
