Princess Anne has definitely inherited her father's sense of humour! This is such an enjoyable clip!
Why does HRH's accent sound vaguely Northern at 0:52 lol
She is an incredible role model, such sense of duty, and I adore her sense of humor
Really like princess Anne, doesn’t take herself seriously, can take a joke and doesn’t take herself too seriously. 👍🏻😄
Full credit to her
You can say exactly the same about the late great E Hughes. He was my role model, my hero and my son is named after him! A captain’s captain.
The Princess Royal has always been my favourite Royal. She has her Father's no-nonsense directness and her Mother's restraint. A great combination
Princess Anne is the only royal I ever had time for. Low key, dignified, but above all, human.
No wonder her daughter married a sportsman, Mike Tindall.
She can afford to be. She isn’t in line to the throne.
Zara is also quality
The only one? There’s only ever been one royal that deserves anything more than piss on their grave, and she was murdered in 1997
Princess Anne - always my favourite Royal. She seems to be able to enjoy life, works really hard and does not take shit. Bless her.
Princess Anne would NEVER have minded - Her Royal Highness has WAY too much class to let such formalities ruin a great evening!
Ah loved Emlyn Hughes. Question of Sport was unmissable back then
Emlyn calls the Princess Royal mate. She is the best Royal by an absolute mile. Total respect to both of them.
Shes such a good sport , she realky looked so relaxed an enjoying the banter
The Princess Royal is a great lady, she works hard, and she has the most lovely smile! God bless her!
Agreed.
I agree, she seems very funny and easygoing. I always liked Emlyn too!
Princess Anne is admirable. She wanted to bring her children up as normally as possible, so refused to accept the royal titles for them, as children. This protected them from royal responsibilities, kept them out of the media's way, while she got on with her own job as a working royal. Result: well adjusted and apparently happy people with their own careers and families. Any other royals out there saying they want privacy and normal life for their kids just need to follow her example. Unless being a celebrity means more to them of course.
Well said.
Are you watching Harry.
@thomasjohnrobinson4658 🙈
I remember watching this show live as a kid. Emlyn had no control of his arms, but his infectious laughter seemed to put everyoneat ease. My respect to Princess Anne who took it it all good spirits. RIP David Coleman.
This is when BBC TV was worth watching, with real sport stars and great personalities, RIP Question of Sport!
Emlyn Hughes was a true legend. His laugh and smile were infectious. RIP Emlyn. Still missed.
Yes. Missed for sure. What a man.
@@oscoe? I remember the day he died. It was the final year I was living in Barrow In Furness (the place where he was born and I grew up there although my family were from Merseyside).
Indeed; couldn't agree more.
I remember watching this at the time. Emelyn was all over the place and so unsure of what he was doing. He was very tactile, so not being able to put his arm around her was a struggle.
I’ve met Anne, she was absolutely delightful and bloody funny
This was absolutely magnificent. You really get the good sense of humor that Prinecess Anne had. Emlyn was priceless.
Oh my god. This is GOLD. I remember this live. Total class.
What a pitty that Princess Anne is not going to be the next monarch. That may be a blessing in disguise, but just imagine her as the Queen. She would be an absolute BOSS, great sense of humour, very athletic even to this day and well versed within the Monarchy.
Joey, she is also the smartest one of the whole bunch.
I think it is the fact that she HASN'T been raised with that pressure of being potential monarch that has helped her develop into who she is.
Charles and William simply COULDN'T do the same things in the same way, lest it be seen as too undignified or risky.
she is fooking class. isnt bothered about the royal status. She is having a laugh and loves it, One of the only royals worth her salt.
I never realized how much she looked like her mother when she was that same age. I think it's really noticeable when she smiled.
Definitely inherited her smile from her mother!
Love this Lady. Straight up no nonsense hard worker and great sense of humour loyal and likes to have fun.🙏👍🥰
I have always admired Anne, she is one of the hardest working Royals and has done immense work with various charities, she also has a brilliant sense of humor.
Thanks for this. I was quite taken by how happy and relaxed she appeared at the Coronation; she's still gorgeous.
Oh wow I'd never seen her so happy! 😆
I loved Emlyn Hughes, he was such a lovely funny man.
The BBC in their infinite wisdom decided to change it, and now it's totally unwatchable, Well done the BBC.
I so agree. What were they thinking??!!
Stopped watching it after they axed Sue, Matt and Phil
And emlyn was the same person that Introduced Princess Anne to the Liverpool squad in the 1974 FA cup final. What a captain🙏🌹👌💪
19 million viewers.. Best Royal ever
I remember this so well, it was brilliant and Princess Anne clearly really enjoyed it. QoS was one of the few unmissable programmes of my week, from its very beginning right up to when the BBC got rid of Sue Barker, Matt Dawson and Tuffers. They destroyed the show, and I have no idea why. Idiots! Shame on them!
Princess Anne is very dignified but not snobby! I think she would a fun person to hang around with!
If Princess Anne was insulted by Emlyn Hughes's behaviour, she would have said so. She did tell him his spelling was crap ! Princess Anne is deadly . Her fathers blunt manner but tempered with her mother's sense of humour.
I can't imagine she would have been at all insulted. She looks like she's having a great time and enjoying Emlyn's company!
When she smiles she looks so much like the Queen.
i would love to hear her notes on the day. bet she loved it
I watched this all those years ago. Princess Anne, was so funny. Loved her since then.
Anne is my ABSOLUTE favorite Royal by far. She's definitely one of the most "kickass" women around and defined cool 😎 waaaaaaay before the others.
Plus her true smile....... is everything!!!!!!
Me too. She spoke with me once and puts you totally at ease chance who's around you.
When I was growing up she was always everyone’s favourite royal. Probably because she’s obviously a normal person.
One hellova lot better than twisty ginger harry
I remember Emlyn and Princess Anne...they were hilarious..everyone talked about it next day....they made a great double act...🤣🤣
This line up of presenter and Captains were the best times of QOS
The unsung hero of this moment was David Coleman, who chaired the show to perfection
I remember watching that episode. My dad watched it every week
I'd forgotten about this!! The best period of QofS too.
Just watched TV program about her - very impressive Royal 👑 Hard working and loyal unlike some !
@Rhys Hoffman Maybe Andrew!! I'm sure a disappointment to his Mother!
It was a fantastic episode with princess anne on
Emlyn Hughes and princess Anne. What a double act. Loved him, love her. Box officd tv from the 80s.😅
Smiled all way through this
Lovely lady, great humor, love her to bits.
Loved Question of Sport, and Princess Anne is such a good sport
She was a capable sports woman in her own right. Princess or no Princess, she had every right to be there as a successful sports woman, and she took every advantage of the opportunity, It was in the days when this programme was a good watch. I miss Sue Barker.
I miss Sue too! Not the same anymore.
One of my favourite shows and this episode was just brilliant.
Only the BBC could take a 50+ year successful series and trash it like they did.
Poor Sue, Matt and Tuffers
Princess Anne.
Wonderful Lady.
Brilliant edition brilliant captain brilliant sport Princess Anne need more people like them
what a fun group, it brought tears to me: such innocent fun and camaraderie
l remember watching this, it was brilliant and so funny, she's got a great sense of humour
Only just found this. Brilliant.
And my god in my opinion Princess Anne looked gorgeous, I've always had a crush on her and still do.
Great looking. Great sense of humour, interesting, intelligent and loves horses. What more can a guy want. Oh yeah and quite well off.
Sounds like a keeper.
Princess Anne is one classy badass. I mean that with no disrespect! My fave Royal : )
Loved this program
Anne is brilliant. Always a favourite.
Brilliant edition Princess Anne brilliant sport
Princess Anne! She has all of the qualities that makes Britain, Great.
Huge respect to you Ma'am. 🇬🇧
I love this s story! Hello from Texas!
Hello from Zimbabwe
Emlyn Hughes was an amazing role model for sports , he was funny he was celver he seemed a very kind man too , so different from the so called " super stars" of today who always seem angery and creedy sending the wrong signals to young people who follow them ...Emlyn Hughes will always be a star a truely super star ....
I remember this episode so well. Princess Anne was brilliant and such a good sport.
Anne is actually very funny and has a quick wit!
Always knew that about the Princess Royal, shame others don't know that about her.
Her mother’s daughter alright😊
Once asked on TV if she had any secrets in dealing with the press, her answer was, "Oh yes!"........
...silence until the interviewer wisely changed subject within a second or two.
I wish a question of sport was as much fun as that now.
So do I!! Just not the same anymore.
BBC trashed it, not on in 2024.
@@audspod1 BBC trashed it, not on in 2024.
@@lynnegee6814 We all know why!!
What a great show that was 👏
As an American, I don't really know anything about princess Anne, except that I am a few years older than her.
She is very nice and has a great sense of humor.
Good for the brits!!!
Classic TV moment. Taxi for Hughes.
That’s was brilliant to watch
Princess Anne is 'a good stick.'
My face hurts from smiling so much 😂
What a great sport HRH is. Good on her!
What a great lady!! 🏴🏴💕👍
Anne and Emyln knew each other fairly well before the programme
She is Everything, That we believe in.
She’s beautiful and hilarious
The best question of sport
HRH has a wonderful sense of humour and is such a good sport. A marvellous lady, just like her mother was.
I loved Emily’s Hughes. What an infectious giggle. Him and Bill total opposites but it worked. It’s such a pity he’s gone as we couldn’t bring it back. We could repeat it though. 😂😂😂
shes the realest one of them all imo
When Paddy McGuinness appeared in this, little did he know he would not only become the host but also kill the show as well
Sadly that was true!
Paddy didn’t kill the show; BBC decided to ‘rest’ it.
Brilliant
What isn’t mentioned here is Princess Anne and Emlyn Hughs where very good friends long before she appeared on the show
Emlyn Hughes was brilliant, QoS was compulsory viewing back then!!
H.R.H PRINCESS ANN IS ONE IN A MILLION BUT YOU DON'T MESS WITH HER EITHER.
I remember watching this with my Dad, it was so funny 😂
I had to do a one on one talk with her the year after this for a school visit. She’s very likeable.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant 😂😂❤ nothing like this now
I’d like to see her back on a Question of sport with her daughter Zara. 😊
Now that would make me watch a Question of Sport again!!
What a great lady and sport
Princess Anne is just Lovely
I loved this video because I loved Emlyn Hughes
I like Princess Anne.
Not forgetting Bill Beaumont, another magnificent Captain of rugby as well as this programme. Anyone else that's appeared and passed..my thoughts x
Best HRH , the Princess Royal Anne , ✌️🇺🇸💕💐💐💐
I had no idea question of sport was that old!
😂😂❤😂😂❤Princess Anne is a rock star in my eyes. She was gorgeous as a young woman and definitely beautiful at state events. Her sense of humour is the best ❤❤❤❤from New Zealand 🇳🇿 😍 ❤️
This was fun, lively and very enjoyable 😅
This was when question of sport was brilliant the team captains were the best ever Coleman was fantastic went downhill after these three left
damn.. i'd forgotten how much fun question of sport was..
remembering Gareth Edwards and Bill Beaument (spelling??)
thankyou for sharing this 🙂
All ways thought Bill Beaument was very knowledgeable in all aspects of sport.
What a cheery story. I like it! 😊
