Eh, they became the cool band to hate like Nickelback. Some folks have their legit reasons they don't appeal to them and I bet more is because they think they somehow appear cool for putting them down. Some folks care far too much in the opinions of others when it comes to validating their own taste in music. For me, if you press play on a song and it moves you in some way ... musically, lyrically, both, maybe just the video they made for it, whatever, then it's good music ... for you. Doesn't have to be good for 10, 10,000 or 10 million other people. If you dig it then rock it and fuck what anyone else thinks. Everybody's taste in things is different. Walk through a museum with five friends and some will think a painting or sculpture is the coolest thing they've ever seen and another will be thinking, "Bleh!!! No way would I have that in my house!". Same 6 people at a restaurant order different entrees. Same 6 people at a bar order different beers/drinks. One of the beauties of humanity is we're all individuals ... if we let ourselves be.
I think their music is good, just good. I REALLY liked them back in high school when they first came out with Way of the Fist in 2007, even buying a meet-and-greet ticket to one of their shows, which was cool but Ivan never showed up :( . As time has progressed, I feel like they didn't really advance with their music very much, and my music tastes grew past them. I'll still have the entire Way of the Fist album on my spotify for nostalgia reasons though.
Amen to that, Brian. To all the brave men and women who proudly serve and protect our country, who help to make our lives better, may God always bless and protect them!
@chad creamer definitely a part of it, and the fact that they've really moved away from their original sound quite a bit. Less screams, catchier choruses, etc. Things that certain people, not me, hate when bands do. I'm all for progression of a band's sound
Agreed. People also hate on Ivan because he supposedly attacked his wife physically. Turned out he didn't even have a wife and the woman just wanted money. But people are too retarded to check facts so unfortunately that's a stain on Ivan's reputation even tho he didn't do it
As soon as I heard Coming Down on my local Rock/Metal radio station I made it my personal mission to get every album and I'm currently doing the same for Breaking Benjamin
I've been a metal head and rocker my entire life thanks to my father, and i absolutely LOVE watching you enjoy this music in your videos. If you think they're amazing and energetic in the video, you should see them live if you ever get the chance!! They're goofy, badass, and genuinely enjoy their audience and fans!! They also did a cover of Gone Away by The Offspring that is just magical... Listen to Jekyll and Hyde or Under and Over it by them as well.
I can't tell you how much it warms my heart to see the absolute joy and wonderment on your face when watching this vid. Everything you experienced watching this 5FPD song is amplified 10x when you see them live. The band catches a lot of flack because of their "cookie cutter" sound and countless covers, but when it gets right down to it, this band f**king slays live and they really know how to right catchy songs. This band was my introduction to the metal world and I haven't looked back since. I'm super stoked that you were able to enjoy this band and if you ever get the chance, 10/10 I recommend seeing them in concert.
Completely agree. I just got back from their latest concert in Sioux Falls with Breaking Benjamin and it was one of the best metal concerts I've ever been to (probably second only to a7x/metallica). I've never been a huge fan of some of their more "screamier" and less intricate songs, but I was still in love with every song they preformed because of the energy they put out. I also never realized how short Moody was, and it was awesome to watch such a powerful voice come out of a tiny man who giggles when he laughs.

@Luke S & @jlm 10181978, I agree on both, BUT I do think that now that #Alex has listened to several different bands, the video {especially} for *"I Apologize"* would be relevant for him & enjoyable for all of us. Yes? Rock on!

Love it. 5fdp is always gonna be one of my top 3 bands. 80%of their songs are intense spectacles designed to tell a culturally relevant story about whatever they feel is messed up. The other 20% are deeper songs meant to try and pour out the emotions left behind by the other 80%of the songs lol.
Ivan's vocals never cease to impress me. His courage to bear his soul with the lyrics he provides with great music. Also the bands willingness to give back by supporting veterans and f*ck cancer. I had never cried from watching videos before FFDP.
Man, you MUST go to one of their shows! I've seen them 11 times now. Maybe 12. I've lost count. Haha. But, you think you feel the energy just listening to them, wait to you see them live. It elevates that energy tenfold. And, they're all cool guys. Even their management. Their tour manager Brandon treated me like royalty at one of their shows. Please do yourself a favor and see them.
I've seen a few reactions of people hearing "Wash it all away" for the first time and it's always the same: shortly after the chorus begins, their faces light up. I love it every time i see it :)
Apparently FFDP are pretty cool dudes too. I've heard that they've stopped playing in the middle of shows to help their fans out. Two notable stories I heard were when a 15 year old girl was getting groped by some dude in the pit, and they stopped to single him out and refused to play again until buddy was dealt with and kicked out. He made his fans surround the guy and would let him leave until he apologized to the girl. Buddy was stubborn but eventually apologized, and then they kicked him out. A second one was where they saw someone go down in the pit and nobody picked him up or helped him. They stopped playing and calmed everyone down. They got people to pick him up and make sure he was good. They then went on to explain the rules of a mosh pit and how they want a safe environment for everyone. Buddy even got to go back stage with the band afterward as an apology from the band for creating an unsafe environment for him. It just goes to show that the guys are loyal to their fans and will look out for their best interests.
David Draiman from Disturbed has done the same; there's a video where he helps a young woman out of the Mosh Pit It seems Metal bands in general really care about their fans
And these guys are flawless live. Not a single one of them missed a beat and Ivan’s vocals are so strong, sounded almost identical to the track. But of course much better because it was live. And they were great with the kids in our crowd. Ivan took the chain off of his neck and gave it to this 4 year old girl in the crowd. There was so much love in the building
I have been a 5FDP fan for years now. I'm a US Army Airborne vet and this bands music has and still does get me through dark times. The work these guys do to bring light to veterans issues is second to none. The fact that issues that affect my community is something they feel strongly about is humbling. I couldn't ask for better men to champion my community's issues. Thank you Ivan (the iron lung) Moody, (then) lead guitarist Jason Hook, bassist Chris (the metal viking) Kael, rhythm guitarist Zoltan Bathory and (then) drums Jeremy Spencer.

Was introduced to FFDP with this song. It is awesome, I am a fan for life. Played it for my 8 and 5 year old sons and they love it. Always ask me to play it now!!
I feel like I'm probably to old for this, but I came across this song recently, and I reacted exactly as this guy. Blew me away, I listen to this all the time now.
Dude I've GOT to say this.....you are the BEST reaction....ist....lol that I have come across on youtube as a whole. Some close competitors but you take the cake. You analyze the lyrics as well as giving your own interpretation. I have watched do many of your vids. KEEP DOIN UR SHIT BRO!!!!!
Alex needs to fucking discover Death already!! He has yet to be really entertained by a good intro to the Death Metal genre, and Death is the perfect band to start at. ❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻
You'll probably like a lot of this band, they speak on different social issues and life issues. Really speaks to people, just like how you really speak to us and inspire us to push past our problems
Listen to Remember Everything by 5FDP. Once when Ivan was singing it live he broke down crying because before the show that day (I believe) his wife had called him and said she was leaving him
The Ghost Inside - White Light - A song about the singer losing his brother who went to bed one night and never woke up. Extremely emotional song with gut wrenching lyrics.
When I'm feeling depressed, or lonely, I sit down and listen to FFDP!! it builds a personal pride, and helps you forget your own problems, FFDP is like heroin for that moment!!
I find it amusing that people who already dont like 5FDP and as michael said "trash", go to a that video and waste their time and everything, being a TROLL ROFL SMH!! Theres so many people like that person and showing their Intelligence or, lack there of!!
I'm a huge FFDP fan but this is goddamn near a fuckin pop song for these guys! Pathetic man! Wanna hear some REAL Death Punch before they went all Fred Dursty, check out their first two albums!!
Saw them last year in Amsterdam. They have a lot of power live, Ivan has a great interaction with the crowd and everyone there is just there to have fun, especially in the moshpit
seriously, you have to go see them live! :D It is one of those bands, that when they come to my country (The Netherlands) it is a "don't think" buy and go! By far the best shows i have been to.

Any ATR from their first 4-5 albums would be great. Last 3 albums? Not so much
@@djentyman4002 Victims was pretty solid, especially compared to A War You Cannot Win. Even Phil said that album was awful.

Yes! I'm dying for some steel panther and tenacious D!! 🤘
gojira - of blood and salt
It's about time he does some Gojira
That song isn't by just Gojira. The whole point of the song is that it's a combination of Gojira, Townsend and Meshuggah./
Listen to Remember Everything by 5FDP. Once when Ivan was singing it live he broke down crying because before the show that day (I believe) his wife had called him and said she was leaving him

Or White Pearl Black Oceans by Sonata Artica!
More 5fdp. Its epic its emotional its poweful
Jonasz Dobrzyński my Mc is in the video. I love it
ITS TRASH
I find it amusing that people who already dont like 5FDP and as michael said "trash", go to a that video and waste their time and everything, being a TROLL ROFL SMH!! Theres so many people like that person and showing their Intelligence or, lack there of!!

This is been probably my favorite heavy-metal song since the first day I heard it..
Knew you’d love this song. My coworkers and I rock to this song almost every day!
FFDP puts up amazing live shows. You need to go to see them if they are in town.
Zonazz very true. Saw them in Cincinnati with Breaking Benjamin. Fantastic show
