    5 inch Zman Curly tailz Nuked chicken my fave for flathead even Salmon.Though they take just about any sinking minnows I throw at em as well, bream not so much unless theyre smaller like 2.5" grubs.

    Do you have any tips on choosing a colour of soft plastic for flathead?The water I fish in is clear blue water and is about 3 metres.I was looking at the baby bass colour and wakasagi from the baitjunkie 3.2 inch minnow, would that be good?

    Shroom, great vid, question: how to you tie onto a split ring? Not sure how to do it as I am new to fishing with hard bodies. do you tie onto the double section or in the gap?

      Probably use a uni knot or blood knot if tying to the split ring. A lot of people remove the split ring and use a loop knot.

    I got one jew, 6 trevally, 1 35cm bream 3 flathead and 8 or so big whiting in a 3 hour session shore based on the parra today. All on a quarter ounce blade. So that's my favourite lure for everything . You youngsters really should try them. They're one weakness is theyre no good around rocky edges. But they are otherwise the most efficient small lure type I've ever used.🐳🐋🐬🐟🐠🐡🦈

      @@ShroomFishing Arms ok but no sunscreen so I'm a bit cooked. Yesterday was quieter but today's session was awesome. I dropped the biggest whiting I have ever seen right at my feet yesterday. It looked about a kilo and might have gone 50cm. Thought it was a soapy jew when I first saw it. It was freaky how big this thing was.😭

      @@wbromfield I'm using quarter ounce TTs. But you have to change the hooks because the ones they come with are blunt. Which is a hassle and it adds expense. Most brands work well. Strike pro cyber vibes are another I've had success with. You should find when it warms up a bit you'll get better results. In winter you have to be at the right place.

    With the squidgie, isn't the 3/8 jig head you recommend too heavy for shore fishing off the rocks?

      Good point. On paper it seems like it would be too heavy but in practice it works well

      Thanks Bob. I haven't used Squidgie lobbys in what feels like 20 years haha. You just forget about how many lures are at our disposal today. I was considering throwing in something like that Shadow Rap in the list but I just hadn't used it enough in recent times. Those Rapalas are deadly efficient

    Double clutch has to be the most consistent lure I’ve used. Every time I use it I catch over 5 decent flatters. Nuclear chickens also do the job especially in dirtier water

      Its what we call in the trade an " Internet lure". Flathead eat any thing and you don't have to use expensive Japanese lures to catch them. Sorry guys, but its true!

    shroom i find that when i'm using divers in shallow water the lure always digs into the mud and sand. is there a way around that?

      They work well if they are touching the bottom periodically but not if they are trying to dig through the bottom of that makes sense. One good way to avoid this is to keep the rod tip up and slow the retrieve a taf
