Unfortunately the Social Security program was NEVER designed to give you an income above the poverty line. If I remember correctly, social security was originally designed to pay about 1/3rd of the income you will need in retirement. That said the government gives you 1/3rd as a safety net while you plan ahead to put away money to have enough income when you are old to survive. Now too many people CANNOT afford to put anything into retirement when they barely survive on a minimum wage income. Social security would have to take a ton of more money out of people's paychecks to be able to give elderly persons an income of $2000 a month every month until they die. It's not fair, but that's the way it is.

He helped our household financially although we went through some hard times, we never gave up. Mr President conpanys purposely do not offer ful time jobs only part time positions at 58 hrs per week so no one qualifies for health care. You need to work 40 hrs a week and be titled a full time employee to qualify for a companys health care.most middle class and low income people are on medi-cal. please make it manditory for companys to schedule 40 hrs per week....and that will help American single people and Families, to get back on their feet, since most companies dont allow unions to fight for workers rights.

Unfortunately the Social Security program was NEVER designed to give you an income above the poverty line. If I remember correctly, social security was originally designed to pay about 1/3rd of the income you will need in retirement. That said the government gives you 1/3rd as a safety net while you plan ahead to put away money to have enough income when you are old to survive. Now too many people CANNOT afford to put anything into retirement when they barely survive on a minimum wage income. Social security would have to take a ton of more money out of people's paychecks to be able to give elderly persons an income of $2000 a month every month until they die. It's not fair, but that's the way it is.

I'm so glad you inculcated the custodian. I retired 25 years as a custodian. For a middle school. And now I work at a community college as a custodian. Low wage I earn $320. A week. I'm where can't pay my utilities food and rent. A $15. Per hour would be fantastic.

@MrSpiritstealer just choose to not participate in this pandemic? I love that idea, however that's not how viruses work in reality land. "Just go back to work/school" is not a valid option at this point. That's what Biden is saying, it's not safe, and it's not conducive to an effective means of ending this pandemic.

If they can agree on tax credit for kids until the end of yr.. than they need to agree on social security ssi va ssdi to get a 200 raise to the American people....groceries has went up rent is going up.. gas has went up....people are hurting.and suffering a 4th stimulus check would be grateful and helpful to all the American people....we put our trust n faith in God and biden that he will step up and hear the American people pleading there hearts out that we need a 4th stimulus...
