I've been trying to build with Lumos and use Grids for a few days and struggling. Turns out those two lines (gap-total and column-width) were missing from the base code in the Lumos clonable I used. You've just saved my sanity! Also FYI that those lines may be missing in a clonable somewhere lol
Hello Tim! I have a tangential question. Is it possible to have the grid guide be visible on the back of all the elements/contents on a published website, essentially as a responsive background design style? I tried tweaking your code but could not get the grid guide to stay or be behind. Hope you can answer! Thanks for the tutorial :-)
Hi, this is possible! The grid wrap would need a z-index: 1 and the site-wide containers would need z-index: 2. The sections would need position static. Inside the grid wrap, there’s an embed and the first line of code sets the grid to display none on the published site so we could delete that line.
Awesome tutorial! :) What would this look like with the image spanned inside of the paragraph? Somewhere in the middle. Can it still be CMSed or wrapped in a Component?
Thank you! If the image needs to be in the middle, it would likely require a span for the text that comes before the image and another span for the text that comes after the image. The two spans would have to be linked up to two separate cms fields unless we dynamically split the text with javascript.
I've tried adding the code lines into the Lumos 2.0.6 (they are missing there) and still not working, what do I need to change to make it happen? I tried everything and still not working:(
I have a video on the basics of them here. ruclips.net/video/pUnC-ap6ixI/видео.html Also, Kevin Powell is a great creator to follow to learn more about css functions like this. ruclips.net/video/PKVKwluRTfo/видео.html
Yes, but this can be used with any framework. Here's the code. :) www.notion.so/timothyricks/Column-Width-Variable-a46ff2070426482584ad20561864a5c5?pvs=4

Best tips on make heading fit to the container
use CQW so the size is based on the container
@@plantseeds_ perfect answer. @klokker Timmy has a tutorial on this if you have little idea on CQW

Best as usual. High quality condensed information.

Thanks so much for the heads up! These two are newer additions so they weren't in older versions of Lumos. I'm glad you were able to add them in. :)
This is awesome. It's definitely gonna come in handy - thanks Timothy!

@@timothyricks Thank you! I'll give this a go and if I have any questions, I will ask in the Wizards Discord. 😃
Another bangerrr Tim, Thank you!
Interesting idea, but I done it before with float feature is not right way?
Float would be great for this! We could still use the variables for setting the size of the image in that case.
for some reason it's not working in the new Lumos cloneable
