Jonathan your knits are always 10 out of 10! As is your podcast, and NOW your designs will be too no doubt! I would definitely knit that top pattern of yours. I see in the comments there's an unofficial naming so I'm going to throw in a suggestion: Forge Ahead. Have a wonderful time in Mexico!
I am on the Jonathan Day's marathon while finishing my Traveler sweater by Briana K. Just discovered your channel and I am obsessed. Much love from Poland :)
Jonathan your design is lovely! I can see it in a darker grey with green stripes or even yellow brick road! Gorgeous That would be a yes! I love that painting behind you! Omg I have so many single skeins of fingering yarn…. Crazy stuff
So fun to watch your design in progress! I envy you that you can knit on planes. I've given up trying. I just don't feel comfortable and there usually isn't enough light for me. Have a great trip!
Yes, your sweater pattern would definitely be one to make. I have a special skein that I am waiting for the right pattern and as soon as I saw this, I was like, thats it, I have to have it. Will be keeping my eye out for when its released. Love your podcast, and Laura's. I found you both at roughly the same time and love the interaction between the 2. Have a lovely holiday and I eagerly await your first design.
Hi Jonathan, Your Vellichor looks fantastic. I think you just inspired me to knit that for the Woolly Thistle's KAL. I love the color combo that you got at Stephen & Penelope. Those greens 💚. Your stripey yoke design is also very nice. I think folks would love it! Have you seen Jared Floods new Shadow Stripe pullover? I am in love with it. The shoulder detail and micro stripes are gorgeous 😍. Have a lovely trip to Mexico!
O man you take my breath away, everything you showed was my cup of tea, even the colors was 😘😘😘I'm a turquoise girl.Have made myself a turquoise 40th lace sweater and have bought myself a pair of high heels in black and honey yellow suide with a 3 cm stone in black,turquoise,grey/white in the middle of the sandal.Block heel .The Funfetti sweater is both classy, sassy and happy looking. Looking forward to see your Funfetti done. Wow congratulation to your own designed sweater- the way you made the yoke pattern made it look like it's done with mohair. This episode was 10/10. Don't go to Mexico stay with us instead😉 Can't wait ti'l you're back in England again. Thx a thousand times . Stay free stay crafting. Grettings from North of Sweden. 🦋🤍🦅🤍🦋
Pssst...I believe that it is you who should choose the name of your all by yourself designed sweater. Yey I say yes to the irish name, even if you never told us. I'm sure it's a fantastic name 🤗🦋🙂
Thanks for inspiring me to push my chores aside and get my shawl done before New Year’s. I am pokey and have a fear of mistakes as I have not learned how to correct my mistakes.
I live in coastal North Carolina (US). We have wicked hot summers and mild winters. I have concentrated heavily on summer sweaters (cotton and linen) this summer. I have finished another Ranunculus, Anker’s summer tee, and Rift. Loved them all but now doing easy v which is knit with worsted weight yarn. There will be limited opportunity to wear it but looking forward to doing so. I have the yarn and pattern to start caribou hills. This podcast was especially enjoyable. Thanks.
Enjoy your trip to Mexico City!! I like knitting on planes, too, but the hum of the engines usually puts me to sleep. 🤣. I’m just about to split for sleeves (🤩) on my first fingering weight tee that has lace (😳) I kinda can’t believe I’ve done it. LOL! It’s the Moon Glade Tee by RowRowAndKades. It’s going to be gorgeous!!
So I took your challenge last video personally, it was the first video of yours that I had watched. I immediately went back and started binge watching from the beginning. I've spent the last two days catching up and knitting my Birch Pullover (by DRK, of course). I am extremely similar in that whenever I yarn shop, a magical skein of fingering weight just happens to fall into my basket for socks. My sock stash is endless🤣. Anyways, thank you for the entertaining videos, I've loved following along with your knitting journey!
I would love to knit that sweater you designed. I have knitted socks and other smaller projects during warmer summer days. We also had very cold for few weeks so I have also knitted swater and merino leggings for colder part of year. Now I’m starting to knit new cozy memories blanket and I did knit part of first squere with you Have fun trip!
Do it! Write it! I think you will feel really proud of yourself and it will give a great boost to something you clearly love already. I'll probably make it for my husband, he'll love it. Also: Irish names. Yes please 😄
Love your podcasts: Simple solution to have a center pull - using a winder, rewind the yarn into a cake … and better yet, rewind both skeins of yarn together and you’ll have a double-stranded cake. PS: I always rewind my yarn anyway to find any knots or flaws.
Your Vellichor pullover is beautiful! The colors and texture work so well together (fingering weight color work does come out so well)! AND, I absolutely love your design. I would definitely make that for myself -- maybe the same colors, probably something a little darker overall. I really like the popped striping, because it just adds so much interest! Enjoy playing with cables too! Thank you for sharing your journey. ✨
I luv ur new creation n can’t wait to see what u name it all ur whips r awesome I have start on my Christmas gift u go n have a nice siesta see u later god bless
Omg ngl when I clicked on your video I was thinking “oooh I love his Vellichor I should make another” haha so funny that mine inspired yours bc yours inspired me! 💕
Your sweater design is beautiful. I love that morganite with the gray. It is not a sweater I could wear because a high crew neck doesn’t work with my short neck but I do really like your stripes with slipped stitches.
I love the sweater you have designed - it’s such a beautiful colorcombo 🥰 i hope you will continue with designing it and release the design i already have an idea for colors the stribing yoke will look beautiful in Grey and a Dark blue 🤩 Grey and purple - green - Black etc
I love your idea of using your partners button on the baby’s petite soufflé. Great idea. And yes your design yarn choices and yoke look so good. keep it up.
Your design is great, I think it's pretty awesome that you are spreading your creative wings. I have been knitting more garments, but as I'm a big girl, it can be expensive and take awhile. I am trying to finish a Casapinka "tee shirt" before school starts again (I'm a teacher), but I doubt it will happen....
I have heard of a knitting shop in Mexico City. My son was in Mexico City pre pandemic and saw one on the neighborhood around the cathedral. He was remembering it recently as a store which opened to the street with like a garage door. He remembers all the ladies knitting to the outdoors. He arrived early for a school trip to go to the Trotsky museum and Frida Kahlo house. They were lovers, I believe. Anyway, that being said, maybe it is still there in the old city. He didn’t have yarn for mom money in the budget, sadly.
The soufflé was never my personal style but I’ve wanted to make it soooo bad, now that I know there’s a baby version I will for sure be making it for a friend 😂
Hi Jonathan: I love the sweater that you are designing. I think I would be interested although I'm not very knowledgable about short rows. I am so glad you decided to continue podcasting. You kept me company going through cancer treatments and I look forward to watching you. You do such beautiful work.
Your sweater design is fantastic. I see more designs in your future. And my word, the beautiful yarns you brought back from Stephen & Penelope ❤️❤️❤️. Enjoy your vacation to Mexico!
Congrats on your almost first design. It looks great. I’m currently swatching for the In Be Tweed sweater and trying to finish up some WIPS as well. Enjoy your trip and I’m looking for to the next episode.
Crochet is a good store . Love to meet you but I am mostly in the hospital because my son is getting quimiotherapy. Don't expect a bunch of variaty. Maybe more cotton and bamboo yarns. Love 💖💖
Another great episode! I am loving all of your knitting plans; how wonderful that you are starting to design patterns. I have a few simple tee tops swirling around in my head and maybe one day they will emerge. Have a great trip and hopefully you will stumble upon some “fibery” things in a market or fair. Cheers, Dee
Bon voyage enjoy Mexico ( do the airlines allow knitting needles on board ? ) special dispensation beforehand ? Your colour pallet is developing into subtle changes & your pattern is simple but effective I like it 👍go ahead with the Gaelic name & why not ? 😉
I luv your new sweater design! I would definitely buy your pattern, keep pursuing it. Your yarn from Stephen and Penelope is beautiful, it’s going to make a gorgeous sweater ❤
Lovely podcast again and yes, there's always room for a skein of sock yarn. You can never ever have too much sock yarn I think, you will always want to knit and wear socks. I do the same thing and my sock yarn stash is enormous 😅 but I always just think; it's an apocalyptic skill, 2 sticks and sock yarn and at least my feet won't get cold when I can't afford my heating bills anymore (because I bought yarn, obviously)
That was brilliant Jonathan. Love, love, love your finished pullover. Really something else and your “ no name” swear we looks a perfect knit so looking forward to seeing the finished result. Your little cards remind me of the ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) which a super to do. I don’t think it matters what you use them for as they just look so cute. Your acquisitions are lovely and so is the start of the baby jumper. Also love the other colour you have for one. I am still knitting sweet little animals from a book by Louise Crowther and loving them. Have a super time on your next jolly. It sounds like lots of knitting will get done on the journey out and back - might be too hot when you are there🙈 but what fun it will all be.🌻
I knit the veilicore in Mexico earlier this year! It was a surprisingly long knit for such a small garment. I was at S&P a few weeks ago and got a sweaters worth of Walk. Such a great store! If you ever end up in The Hague Cross and Woods is an excellent yarn shop
I love, love, love your first sweater design…..Yes!!! I would buy your pattern. Wow, Jonathan….you are awesome! Great Podcast with so much information….the book looks amazing, as well. Just a side comment: I just learned how to do brioche…who said it was simple? 😬 I loved seeing all the 🧶. I live 15 minutes from Jimmy Bean Yarn Shop that is located in Reno, NV (USA)…..I hope they carry some yarn that you’ve shown. I’ll find out today. I loved the greens and navy blue …swoon! Have a safe and enjoyable trip, Jonathan! See you next time!! Hugs…🤗❤️🙋
Hello. This podcast is pretty new to me - didn’t know you sew as well. Do you ever show your makes? Oh, I love that you’re using a button from boyfriends shirt to sew onto the Soufflé. How great is that?!
I don’t keep track of my projects with those cards in specific, but I do have a notebook where I keep all of the same information. I still keep my Ravelry project pages up to date, but if any thing were to happen to the site, I want to be sure that my notes won’t be lost. My notebooks are organized by year, so I’m able to easily look at all of my projects from a particular year. As for goals, I’m planning on finishing 30 sweaters this year. I currently have 21 done with 3 on my needles. I’m not exclusively a sweater knitter so next years goals will likely include other things too
I absolutely love your most recent yarn purchases. You’ve also inspired me to look up the Vellicore (did I spell that correctly?) pattern for myself, and a friend. Too, I’d thoroughly enjoy test knitting your sweater pattern! I’m a beginner knitter. I hope you Mexico City.
I love the Andrea Mowry sweater & the colors you choose. The baby sweater is going to be adorable as well. I love your design, but I'm new to knitting. Do you think a beginner can knit it up? I am a big girl though; what sizes would you go upto? I'd love to try & do it.. Thank you for sharing...🤗
Congratulations on your first design! I was envisioning all the amazing colour choices that would work so well. Love you choice of grey and pink. Would definitely be interested in the pattern. Thanks for another great episode. Have a great time in Mexico City.
someones prob already said this but for that kind of skein i usually wind it into a ball before knitting with it, or pul out a chunk from the centre until i find the end
Another enjoyable episode Jonathan! Love the sweater you’re wearing! I don’t knit sweaters or wear them as I’m always hot🥺but if I did I’d definitely buy your pattern..it’s beautiful!! All the best to you in your designing adventures🥰
Loved the sweater you were wearing - I think I’m would be cool in a cotton blend for an Aussie summer T so will start looking for yarn for that. Your first sweater design is great - I love pink and grey together too so if you release it I’d be using similar colours. I’m currently testing Rebecca’s Cargill sweater - the testing process is fun for the testers - and hopefully the designer too. Have a great time in Mexico and stay safe. Looking forward to hearing all about it next podcast.
Love the podcast as ever. Could you check the link for the Vellichor as it's taking up to a Jamen N Watts pattern I stead..I'm I spired to knit the Andrea Mowry top you have modelled today. X
The vest is beautiful. A fingering weight yarn seem to make such a lovely, crisp fabric. I am making a fingering weight sweater right now and it is moving soooo slooow. I have decided to knit on it monogamously until it is finished just because I want to be done!
Hi Jonathan! Will you talk more about your sock tubes? I, too, like knitting tubes but I’m unsure about how to make the heels and toes. Can you share your process? Thanks!
Hi Jonna! I spoke a bit about it in a previous episode but I will be using The Crazy Sock Lady’s tutorials here on RUclips to pick up for heels and toes!
I love your vest I think you should try wearing a black or a medium to dark shade of blue T-shirt underneath. Especially as we move towards winter I think it would be great even a long sleeved black or navy blue T-shirt would look terrific.
Your pink yoke sweater is awesome. The stripe makes it fun. The sweater you are wearing plus the baby’s soufflé are sooo pretty.
Crazy stuff
Ooooh! Spin cycle. Watching this podcast with my Easy V in my lap….three colors of dream state!
Loved your podcast, the pattern your creating is great. Have fun on vacation. Happy knitting, Petra
I finally got all caught up on all your videos! You make great yarn/pattern choices! Thanks for sharing!
Hi I recently found your podcast and have enjoyed them. It’s super hot in Western Canada but like you I can’t stop knitting 🧶 Enjoy Mexico!
You are so fun to watch. I love your new sweater design! Have so much fun in Mexico!!

Definitely thumbs up for writing the pattern! 😊 It's beautiful 💕🤍💕🤍💕
I love grey/pink too, and great sweater design! Keep sharing with us.
Oh, I love the little button idea! Precious.
Very good luck with your sweater design. Worsted weight is a touch warm for Florida but I can admire. Your vest is stunning.
So fun to watch your design in progress! I envy you that you can knit on planes. I've given up trying. I just don't feel comfortable and there usually isn't enough light for me. Have a great trip!
Loving your design and the colors are just wow!

Yes please make the pattern for that sweater. Love the look of that!

I really love the design, not sure if anyone suggested already or whether you would like it but you could call it Day One, I would definitly knit it

You'll definitely find yarns and fabrics in the markets. Abundant in textiles that are culturally centered. Have so much fun!! Eat all the food too :)
I would love to knit that sweater you designed.
I have knitted socks and other smaller projects during warmer summer days. We also had very cold for few weeks so I have also knitted swater and merino leggings for colder part of year.

Great job on your original pattern! I would definitely make this. Enjoyed this podcast very much, as usual.
The sock yarn equal to getting milk analogy is so true. I know I have some, but who knows when we'll to through it!
Love your podcasts: Simple solution to have a center pull - using a winder, rewind the yarn into a cake … and better yet, rewind both skeins of yarn together and you’ll have a double-stranded cake.
PS: I always rewind my yarn anyway to find any knots or flaws.
Thank you for a lovely episode! I really like your design, I will definetly buy the pattern! 👍

I think it’s a great baby colour. Such a pleasant change from baby pinks/blues/lemons etc.
Another fun podcast!!! Sock yarn always "falls" into my basket too...LOL
your design looks lovely! excellent color combo...
I think you should publish the pattern. As always it was nice knitting while watching you talk about your projects and future projects.
I love the pattern design too. And because of the beautiful pale pink I would call it "MORNINGLIGHT" or "DAWN"❣
Great idea. And yes your design yarn choices and yoke look so good. keep it up.
yes, yes, yes, it is a beautiful first pattern! I would like to make it in Medium size!

Love your sweater design. The petite soufflé is super cute and very modern. Enjoy your Mexico trip
Please do write up and offer out your sweater. Yes, test knitting is so important.
Anxiously waiting 😜
Sweater looks amazing, I would love to make it
Congrats on your almost first design.
Love 💖💖
I like your pattern design!
I love your vellichor.
Loved everything about this episode!!! Thank you so much for sharing, definitely considering making a Vellichor for a summer knit next year :)
Another great episode! I am loving all of your knitting plans; how wonderful that you are starting to design patterns. I have a few simple tee tops swirling around in my head and maybe one day they will emerge. Have a great trip and hopefully you will stumble upon some “fibery” things in a market or fair. Cheers, Dee
Love the pattern design, I would call it the everyDAYS
Thank you! Ooo yes that is a good shout I’ll add it to my list!
I'd love to try your pattern. It's a beautiful design.
That Laine sweater is stunning! Going to go look for a copy
Bon voyage enjoy Mexico ( do the airlines allow knitting needles on board ? ) special dispensation beforehand ?
Your colour pallet is developing into subtle changes & your pattern is simple but effective I like it 👍go ahead with the Gaelic name & why not ? 😉
Sweater patterns really nice. I’d buy it
I luv your new sweater design!
You are so right! People will always need socks! If the apocalypse comes I’d have to get even faster at making them though 😅
I completely agree!
YES!! PLEASE post the pattern
Love your design! Inspired choice of colours😍 I’d buy it x
Great job on the vellichor 👏🏿. I love the look but the gauge is too tight for me at the moment. Could take me a year 😂
That was brilliant Jonathan.

Absolutely love your self-design and would be very keen to purchase as a graded pattern 👍🏻🎉
This pattern is so lovely and the color selection is awesome!!
Yes, I would absolutely purchase your sweater pattern! It's wonderful! I'd also love to test knit it.
Hello. This podcast is pretty new to me - didn’t know you sew as well. Do you ever show your makes?
Oh, I love that you’re using a button from boyfriends shirt to sew onto the Soufflé. How great is that?!

Love your idea with the button for the gift…I think I’ll copy you 😉
Do it! It’s the fun details that make a difference!
Thank you so much! I’ve already picked our colours for my final sample 😝 I’m so glad you’re interested it makes me very excited to keep exploring it!

Hi Algo,
In your creation, do you plan a touch of pink in the cast-offs, too, to match the neck edge?
Bye, Rithm.
Another great episode! I'm impressed with your sweater design ideas! I always love your colour choices! Have fun in Mexico!
Thank you so much Dawn! I really appreciate it!

I like the striped sweater! Keep knitting it and show it to us again 😉
Yes, I would definitely love to knit your first pattern, it is classy!
Thank you so much! I wanted something simple and wearable!
I love your vest I think you should try wearing a black or a medium to dark shade of blue T-shirt underneath. Especially as we move towards winter I think it would be great even a long sleeved black or navy blue T-shirt would look terrific.
Love it
