Those cheap landlords better get the buildings checked
😂😂😂😂yup
Nah for real
Most people don't have earthquake insurance in that area.
😂😂😂😂
I was 5 miles from the epicenter, felt the ground shaking for a good 30 seconds at least, thought it may have been a construction vehicle in the area but then it shook for a lot longer so I figured it had to be an earthquake. crazy to think that a magnitue 9 earthquake would feel over 10,000 times stronger than what we experienced here.
Yea, it hit Long Island too. Shook my whole building for about 5 seconds.
Capp
@@ogmoco808I’m in Woodbridge, Nj moms in Long Island felt it.
I am 74 on north east Long Island my brain said about 10 second my my panic attack said half an hour…i check the fireplace I was sitting by…thought some of the bricks got loose from wind and was falling…amazing what an old brain goes through when scared. Out last one out here took mirrors and pictures off the wall…
It hits Massachusetts and Connecticut as well.
Same. I live in northeast nj and it also hit that area as well.

well of course it is nothing to them because they built everything to prevent catastrophe in case of an earthquake lol. The USA on the other hand...

I felt it in Canada! Southern Ontario, my desk was shaking, and when I looked outside, snow was falling off the trees.
I live a couple blocks away from the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. The quake had the pipes rattling in the walls of my house.
Thank God u ok❤
I felt it here in the East Bronx and I was on the second floor. It shook for around a half a minute. I knew what it was but it was still startling.
Are you kidding me they say it ain't that bad cause no one got injured but look how many states it went through 😮 that's scary. Thank God the pressure wasn't damaging but what if it has been
We felt it in Brooklyn!
That was lizzo
You ok? I'm from Brooklyn too
Same! I thought I was crazy!!!
I’m in Brooklyn and I didn’t even feel the earthquake
@@ReelResources_ Yeah all is well! 🙏🏽Thanks for asking!
We live in Whitehouse Station, Hunterdon City NJ - very loud rumble, house shook, lasted about 20 seconds.
I'm about 50 miles away and felt it for around 10 seconds. Interesting. Thanks.
I was so surprised when I came across this
Hello There
GODZILLA!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
😂🤣🤣🤣 your too funny 😁
Lizzo and cristie
😂😂😂
God 🙏🏾
These East Coast quakes are felt over long distances as the shockwave travels along these old granite mountain ranges. If you are on bedrock it's a jolting type shaking, if on "looser" valley ground, more like waves on a waterbed.
I FELT MY BALLS BOUNCING ON THE WALL
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
um sir, why were ur balls touching the wall
Happens to the best of us
Wow 😂😂😂
I live in Essex, Maryland and I felt it. Shook my bed but my husband sitting in a chair felt nothing.
Didn't feel it in Westminster, MD
We've had 10 earthquakes in New Zealand on the last 10 hours
Taiwan got hit hard too, didn't it?
@@angelique_____ Wonder if this is a sign of worse things to come?
You win?
How strong? And were 9 of them aftershocks?
@@vivaelgato4541No. earthquakes happen every day, It was inevitable to hit the northeast. I would be more concerned if it would hit Yellowstone.
As a Californian, this is like seeing 1” of snow outside.
as a californian, you should probably be bracing for an earthquake.
asia just had a strong earthquake. new jersey just had a significant, unusual earthquake. california sits on bedrock… and you’re overdue for a big one.
California 😂😂4.7 is nothing. I have slept through earthquake 5.7
We wouldn’t even get up for a 4.7 in California, but considering their infrastructure & residences aren’t really made for earthquakes like ours are, I can see how scary it must’ve been.
@@DeeLite220 correct. new york, new jersey (east coast as a whole) architecture is not made to withstand any shaking really.
@@claireconover Well said.
Felt in Vermont
I thought it was a heavy truck going by shaken my window and plants!
Me neither I was scared
How is it over there with you?
😂😂😂😂😂 to think that let's me know it shook up some stuff 😂
That s what I thought too!!
Yea it felt like a truck where I am
Oh man! I bet that was weird thing to experience.
The fourth largest earthquake in recorded history to hit New York, amazing. Earthquakes usually are more common on the west coast of the USA, especially in California but not so much on the east coast of the USA.
I actually felt it in Vermont. Where I live is on ledge and I've felt a few over the years. This one was a gentle swaying of the house for 10-15 seconds. I was on the 2nd floor.
We felt it in Pittsfield, MA. I thought a car hit the building.
I felt it in lynn mass
We felt it 51 minutes ago in Ambler Pennsylvania. I thought a space ship landed on my roof. We ran outside and looked up. All my neighbors were out.🥲
I felt it in North Bergen while looking out the window 10:23am and car alarms beeping. I thought it was my vertigo.
We had a slight tremor in Iowa years ago. I thought I was going crazy. Tornados? yes. Earthquakes? Never.
As a Californian, MEH.
I felt it in Northern Maryland
Verona NJ felt it. Had our apartment complex vibrating for a few seconds
I felt it Northern Delaware, lasted ahot 5-6 seconds. Not even a 2 here probably.
I'm around the Princeton area of New Jersey right now and it was major shaking. Such as I was standing and it made me so unsteady I literally had to reach for the wall so I wouldn't fall down. Any knick knacks in the place were moved some of them that were rather heavy moved 5 inches. So this is not the little tremors that they're getting in Manhattan. Here it was big and it lasted about 10 seconds and that was the scary part because it didn't stop.
felt it in East Brunswick NJ
Live in NJ, didn’t even feel it
I felt a good shake, in Hyde Park NY. Directly across the road from the FDR estate.
as a californian im glad nobody was hurt, good time to check up on those emergency kits!
Precursor a few minutes earlier. Also activity northern mid Atlantic ridge yesterday too. Also could still be a larger one.
I felt it and it shook my house a good 15-20 seconds. Like a few days ago my entire block went out 💀 crazy spring break
Here in California we are waiting for the big one anytime now.
you’ve been overdue for at least a decade…
You guys still fracking over there, or did y'all finally ban it?
Felt this 100miles north of the city. Also felt in Great Barrington Massachusetts
Al Roker is obviously shaken. It was northern Jersey, not southern. And the 2011 quake was in Virginia, not New Jersey.
Washington , D.C. & Maryland areas had one back on Aug. 2011 too and places were shaking like Hula girls rocking….
We had an unusual 4.7 yesterday for about 20 seconds at 4:30pm in the northern Sierras. Media barely mentioned it.
If yu read the Bible it actually talks about how in the end times it will be a lot of earthquakes
@@Luhwick_. And if you read factual sources on the geology of the earth, it talks about how there have been a lot of earthquakes for the past 4 billion years and we are NOT experiencing more than usual right now
@@ctsean well I don’t belive what the government has to say about earth also don’t belive earth is that old
@@Luhwick_. the government didn’t say anything about earth. Scientists have been studying it for over a thousand years.

I am in Connecticut felt it to
Felt this in my home real bad in orange county NY
First one? That's not an earthquake, that's called a 'pre-quake'.
Uh-oh.
@@AbsentWithoutLeaving Hey, you could be a butterfly for New Zealand too, they had 10 quakes for 10 hours. Maybe you got nothing!
@@Antdevamp - I don't know what you mean, but i live in Chicago (Illinois). We get the occasional minor quake, but nothing major. We've got the New Madrid fault line that runs through the southern part of the state though, and that zone is very active.
Baltimore - lasted about 6 seconds. I was unsure if it was from a truck riding by causing vibration or an earthquake.
I was sleeping and felt my bed shaking...I live I Kew Garden hills...Queens...5th floor building
"Amateur numbers." California
But it's not California. So completely different ball park. I noticed California has main character syndrome when it comes to earthquakes.
@@shondrawhite9317 uhm, it's an Earthquake. You know? Here on Earth we get those, especially more so on faultlines like we do here in California. Not sure if you classify Earthquakes like folks who seperate M&M's by color, but the overreaction, and inability to understand humor leaves me thinking you probably don't get out much and if you do, you are the center of attention no matter how wrong or much of a fuss it takes.

Not true, people in Cali go insane over magnitude 3 earthquakes. California hasn't even seen a major earthquake in modern times unlike Japan and Chile. Dont spread lies 😂 A 4.8 in Southern California would be trending all over Twitter right now
This was during the UN meeting about GAZA. Seems like a warning to the world.
Every Knee will BOW !!! Time's running out.
20'000 earthquakes around the globe every single year, every year, for hundreds of years. Plenty of time left, but feel free to slam your head into the dirt and shove that silly old book of lies and fairytales that you're addicted to in both your holes.
I'm not bowing to anyone especially to a sky bully
Time running out for what? Is a wee little earthquake making you scared? About 50 earthquakes occur worldwide every day.
Felt in Philly. Vibrations.
Get a real scientist to discuss it.
Eh, 4.7 is not really that big of a deal.
Right, Charlotte had a 5.1 a few years ago
@@Former_Pastorthat’s what she said 😏🌚
It is, for a place that’s not used to such events. The infrastructure is not prepared for it, and neither are the people
Just another day over here in California
My 1st time feeling an earthquake
Roker is only certified to tell us about the issues above ground not below.
I started looking online. I'm in Worcester, Massachusetts
Felt it in the Catskill Mountains!
Upstate ❤
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines , and on top of that he just went into Harry's and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and motec exhaust systems.
Felt it in west Philadelphia

Yes...also in Center City.

Felt that..heardthat Rumbling, shaking in Croton on Hudson NY..
Westchester County!!!
Yooo everyone good? That earthquake was wild😱😬😳
I felt it here on Long Island north Easter end
Hmm, I'm in Baltimore. I thought the roofers next door were stomping around and shaking my room but maybe that was the quake. 🤔
I felt it in Jersey City. NJ. Strong shaking for a few seconds. Sometimes we feel heavy shaking from trucks on the expressway going into the Holland tunnel but this was more violent shaking. But no aftershocks. Maybe the earth just shifted a bit.
No aftershocks --- yet. They don't necessarily come right away; they can come up to several weeks later. I'm from California, raised in NJ, "the voice of experience." Take care!
I wonder what the rats did during the earthquake 🤔
Felt minor shaking in Cheshire, Connecticut this morning
My sister in Boston said she felt it!
Felt it here in Millerton!
Somebody see if Chris Christie is down....
We felt it in Maine!
At this earthquake level, Taiwanese people would continue drinking tea.
Here in California, I'd sleep thru it ....
Maybe not the Big One but still unnerving. It depends how close to the surface the tectonic shift occurs. In Carson City I was surprised by one early in the morning and could HEAR it coming before it rolled under my feet. It was unsettling.
4.8 is nothing to sneeze at, not big enough to do any significant damage but large enough to knock stuff from shelves and tip things over. I would not be surprised if the total damage from just those kinds of events is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Knowing how in love northeastern people are with themselves this will dominate the main stream news for a full week.
Still less so than the southern theocrats!
Or they just take responsibility for themselves.
Well people have stopped talking about the Key bridge already.
Nyc is overrated. Have no desire to visit it. Only sheep that are gullible feel that visiting NYC is something special

Felt it in Warwick RI
I live in Towson Maryland. I was in school when it happened. Period 3. I didn't feel it but some of my friends did.
Felt this in Harrison 😢
Nothing of value was damaged
aftershocks will prevail ,take a civil defense announcements in the central new jersey area . follow your block captain's directives and wear a pasta colander for added protection . this is the armed forces radio network reporting
Felt it in the Binghamton ny area
Im in queens and my house was rocking like a boat

i live in washington state, i cant even remember the last time there even was a major earthquake. hardly ever happens here.
I was in Medellin, Colombia for the last 4 months and we had 3 earthquakes while I was there. I came back to US and my friends in Taiwan and NY/NJ have Earthquakes. Be careful.
Noooo
We felt it the earthquake out in wading river, long island!! Ny. I work at a spa, we all felt it, the floor and walls rattled. Clients thought the treatment beds had vibration on them! This quake reached far! We are 60+ miles east of manhattan
I definitely felt that earthquake.😮It made all the plants in my apartment shake
And in Massachusetts
Omg I knew I wasn’t crazy! I felt it in Brooklyn!!!
I’m in Brooklyn too but I didn’t even feel it
Why this is so crazy is because we have not had a earthquake for about 12 years and it came out of nowhere
And an aftershock.. 6:05 pm!!!
