Synology cant sell that hardware any longer. That processor was used by the egyptians 4000 yaers ago…. Better to go with terramaster.

Great video, I was on the fence regarding which brand to choose and you put everything in perspective for me. I'm looking more for the hardware solution and the $avings made on the Terramaster NAS can go towards better/larger HDDs.

I think the conclusion of all comparisons between Synology and other NAS'es at this moment will always be: software - hardware.
Exactly. I knew this in the beginning of this video, just like in all the other comparism videos.
Good software cannot be an excuse for lack of innovation.
Software is the definition of innovation for any NAS product. Terramaster is using off-the-shelf hardware and there is nothing "new" about their products. Synology also uses off-the-shelf hardware (at a lesser tier), but spends its R&D on software to improve user experience.
If I need to have a large number of users accessing the same data simultaneously, using the client interface app.... what should I be looking for specifically first and foremost when deciding on a NAS solution 🤔
Preferably for future expansion, (bay drives, data speed upgrades, ((10 GB - 25 gb - 40 GB) etc).
Nas will be connected into Router advertised up to speeds of 10 gb with proper connections throughout (router, 10 gb wired connection to NAS), which NAS would be suggested? For strictly media consumption?
Disregarding only the drive capacity and whatever else are the obvious that you mention to us regularly?
I’m really sceptic about Terramaster. I like the Hardware for the money but as far as I know Terramaster still sells NAS systems that not have TOS 5 support, for example the F2-210 or f4-210. I would go for Synology because of the long time support. I own a old DS214se and still get at least DSM 7.1.

Isn't Synology's naming based on the year the product is released? DS224+ is confusing since it's still 2023. Shouldn't it of been called the DS223+?

WHY can't these types of devices ALSO be directly connected to a computer via a high speed USB connection?
