Do you know that Tamiya Plamodel Factory Tokyo has moved to another location? We came to the new place just a week after the grand opening. A whole new building, consists of many Tamiya model kits and new features! Let's see what is inside the new Tamiya shop

Opened 5/24/24 across the street from the prior store. Limited stock, few pre built models or dioramas, kits are high up on shelves requiring staff to assist. More of a museum than the traditional hobby shop. A disappointing visit.

I agree, it's more like an exhibition than a store. Indeed, the new store gives a different experience because of some new areas and a modern look. But for ease of shopping and the number of items, I personally like the previous store

I don't know why, maybe because this one is the flagship store
many shops in Akihabara have better prices and provide free tax shop
best places to find plamodel are Joshin Oji, Yodobashi Akihabara, Radio Kaikan
for rare models, pay a visit to Surugaya Akihabara plastic model hall

@@caridanbeli yes, I will visit all of those locations. My goal is to get the Tamiya 1:32 scale Eagle with Bunker Buster, the 1:32 scale Falcon and the 1:32 scale F4 Phantom. Of course, I will also buy about 20 Tamiya cars, too. Thank you for the information!

@@davidebert8034 in case of an older model, please kindly check Mandarake complex on the 7th floor and Mandarake Nakano (model kit specialty). You might find some gem. Good luck with your hunt!

think the other store was better had a more warm homely feel to it when i was there ,this one looks to sterile and to open e.g waste of space and not much range ,thats my opinion of it anyway!

I agree with you. Actually, I also love the older store. This new store is kind of like Tamiya Gallery. But maybe they want to give a fresh look at the new place
