not sure why this popped up in my feed... I lived in Japan when I was a young'un from 2 until 6, in the mid 60s. We rode out a few typhoons, sometimes in the bathtub with a mattress at the ready. Happy and terrifying memories. Blessings to your family!
Japan has less than 1% of the world's land area, but more than 20% of natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, heavy snow and volcanoes are concentrated in this disaster-prone area. This is one of the reasons why renewable energy such as solar power generation and wind power generation do not spread. Solar panels and windmills are often destroyed by natural disasters, causing damage to people around them. Deforestation by mega solar has caused many landslides and mountain collapses when it rains, causing deaths.
You're right. Therefore, Japan caused a nuclear power plant accident in Fukushima due to the 3.11 earthquake, and now the proportion of nuclear power generation in Japan as a whole is more than 60% lower than before. Instead, it produces electricity by allocating thermal power, hydraulic power, geothermal power, wind power, and other renewable energies. Gas turbine combined cycle power generation, etc ...
Same here in our region in the Philippines. Even it was a normal storm, it feels like it's a typhoon. Climate change is so real. I remembered last Christmas we were hit by a typhoon and I just woke up like our house was merely wet gladly. We secured everything but it sucks to eat all the food we prepared until new year. We have no choice but to consume it all. I am thankful that everyone here is safe. Please do take care always guys. ❤️🇵🇭
typhoons were scary when I was in Japan, because I live in San Diego and had never experienced it. We were inside costco when it hit and everyone had to evacuate.
That's a big compliment - thanks! Ghibli stories are well-told and well-illustrated! And thanks on the studio - it will be there as long as our friends are traveling (which may only be a couple of months still). At least we have a bedroom again!
The only time I encountered rain in Japan was in Kyoto. I live in San Francisco where there are a lot of hills, and during the heavy rainy days, I am not any victim of floods at my residence, but if the storm drains are clogged, that is mostly on the flat parts of the city.
Thanks for sharing a glimpse into you and your families lives! I also want to thank you for the inspiration to create music, as this year I picked up a keyboard and now after 7 months of practice, I'm able to play some of my favourite songs! Your kids are all so good on the piano! They also inspire me, but not as much as you do, Nate! Thanks for everything you do! Great video!
I am new and came here from bunches of lunches and I love this channel it is amazing your children are so beautiful and you guys are such amazing amazing parents you do such an amazing job and you deserve all the best have a amazing day 😊 🤗 ps this is my new favourite RUclips channel
Your video reminds me of the time NJ, where I grew up, was being hit by a nor’easter. I walked to the bus stop before school and waited and waited while being soaked by sideways rain. I finally gave up, walked home, and found out school was canceled.
As you say, people living in Japan need to worry about typhoons. However, hurricanes (as well as tornados) are also serious and "iconic" natural disasters that cannot be ignored. They damage the US almost every year and claim the precious lives of its people. The picture of a 2005 Hurricane Katrina victim floating face down in a river is still fresh in my memory.
Looks fierce! We had a storm here recently in Australia that’s knocked over several trees and flooded many areas. Make sure to stay safe! I’m hoping to teach English in Japan when I’m finished with my Japanese degree here. Watching these videos is nice to get a peek and what it’s like to live there. :)
Oh my God, I remember the typhoon Hagibis two years ago, because we have planned to travel to Japan for the first time, .... and we had to cancel all of our reservations because of this typhoon...;-( and we were so so disappointed. Now, we know that our first time will NOt be in autumn !!
Feel you on the typhoon, my Dad's house was flooded by Florence in 2018, thank goodness he passed a few months earlier and didn't have to go through it. Too hard to lose your home after 62 years.
decades ago , the construction of the embankment on the Kawasaki city side of the tama river was completed , but that was not completed on the Tokyo city side due to the opposition of the residents .
Sadly in Japan, there are typhoon casualties every year. Daddy's house is in danger of flooding, but our house is in an area where landslides are a concern. Refrain from going out unnecessarily and hurry if you need to evacuate.
Hi everyone, the weather in Uk has been very wet and windy with flash floods in parts. But it s nice to wake up to sunshine. That studio looked amazing, maybe share it with us when you come to use it?? will you celebrate Halloween??? have a great weekend, kind regards Carl.
A strange Japanese... It's used as a cosmetic product to apply to your face after eating Okinawa Gyeongseok. Japan is going crazy over absurd claims to export to foreign countries. On the 28th, a press conference was held to encourage Japanese to use Okinawa Gyeongseok, which was caused by the Okinawa Undersea Volcano eruption, in a short period of time, saying that it is good for skin beauty and food. However, the U.S. FDA said that hard stones are very dangerous because magma thousands of kilometers underground is released containing radioactivity.I'm rooting for Japan that's going crazy.

Please take care and stay well! Typhoon really is a dangerous thing!!
Congrats on the studio space, very cool!
The storms and earthquakes are definitely something we are getting used to living in Japan as well 😖
Nice studio👍I'm looking forward to your good work in the future🤗🥳
Thank you so much 😁
I miss Japan! Please adopt me so I can live there again just kidding lol.
Thank you for living in Japan, for all of REUTER family!!!
Takecare guys⛈️

There was a distinct Ghibli vibe to this episode, even more than usual, loved it! And congrats on your studio :)

Great to see a comment from you again- stay safe!

Oh no!!!!! Wow- at least it was cancelled and you didn't have to stay in wet clothes all day long!

If you come late autumn, it's the perfect time to visit (November!)
Feel you on the typhoon, my Dad's house was flooded by Florence in 2018, thank goodness he passed a few months earlier and didn't have to go through it. Too hard to lose your home after 62 years.
Wow- that would be tough. I certainly have a softer place in my heart for anyone who has had flooding.
That just looks like a normal day around these parts.
The naming of Typhoons alternate to the different languages in SE Asia and East Asia.
Typhoon Hagibis. Hagibis means Fierce or Fast in Filipino.
I didn't know that was the meaning of Hagibis - a proper name for that storm!
Haja luz hahaha!! Being honest I still can't distinguish between Anna and Becca

Really? I didn't know that. I'm very thankful for the embankment!

typhoon!
I live in Oklahoma and we learn to live with the weather here .we're in tornado alley.
I went to school in Tulsa for 5 years!! Now those were scary storms!!!!
My wife went to college in Oklahoma, and would talk about the crazy weather there!
