I agree. He really does have a way with words lol. There’s a lot of channels that have covered this very topic (and many others concerning space and physics in general), and I definitely enjoyed a good number of those videos. However, the way they explain it all is either very short to where they leave out a lot of information that is important to the topic, or they will add way too many accompanying visuals that easily distracts someone like me who wants to watch along to learn, but is too busy zoning out over that dope AF computer generated graphic of deep space. At least with these videos, the visuals will show exactly what’s being discussed (a lot of time using real images/footage), and his wording makes it all easy to where a simpleton like me can actually understand it.
The absolute best explanation of particle physics I’ve seen to date! Thank you for taking the time to make this video and to share your excellent narration and knowledge. We are all more intelligent because of your gift of knowledge.
On RUclips one can find many misleading explanations for the Higgs Boson, even by celebrated names in scientific journalism. David Butler offers us,the under-educated,a clear description of the Higgs and its function. Thank you,David Butler.
This is by far the most interesting and exciting channel when it comes to astronomy and particle physics. David's pacing and voice is superb, thank you for sharing your education and experience with us!
All Dr. Butlers videos has the most informative and visually stunning with actual photos of the cosmos than the ordinary artist and simulation impressions than any video I've seen great in it's simplicity
For science? What kind of nonsense talk is that. Science is a method, a methodical way of proving something. You don't "do a great service" for a process. You perform science for a greater understanding of reality.
@@timothyandrewnielsen Thank you for your rudeness. In my opinion David's videos do a great service for science by summarising and presenting the known data in an interesting, undrstandable and stylish manner. This in turn will attract the scientists of the future. By the way, I have a BSc, an MSc and a PhD as well as publishing in many journals in my field of stem cell biology.
@@mauricecanham687 That's great Maurice, but you said the exact same thing a second time, just differently. Science isn't anything special, it's been around since the dawn of man. Get over yourself.
@@timothyandrewnielsen I re-phrased my point for the purpose of clarification. I had mentioned nothing about science being special. I was simply giving praise to good science communication. I don't feel any need to get over myself for qualifying my point by stating my scientific background.

Clear as crystal. The most definitive explanation I have met in RUclips. If one loses attention for five seconds misses loads of useful information. Cordially thank you for your efforts for sharing. Kind regards.
Best explained. No other channel goes into the exquisite detail, incl. distinction between vitual and real particles, the necessary history and maths (no excesses but no lacunas either) and, most importantly, how all that has been experimentally demonstrated and to what extent. TY, David: you're the best.
Outstanding in its presentation of so many complex components. Each segment builds understanding. This is the first time I understood (most of) this table of contents to the standard model. Thank you! Superb job.
David Butler is hands down the greatest expositor of science anywhere. Nowhere else will you find anything even close to his inspired discussions. His grasp of every subject is so complete that he is able to explain it all to the undergraduate and the layman alike.1 The man is a phenomenon. Thank you David!
I've watched this and the rest of ur fantastic series many times and every time i learn something new!! No words can express the joy i and many other like minded people get when watching ur shows, u really have made a lot of people old and young understand more about the majesty of the universe and the incredulity of the very small and just how small small can get!! From us all in the macroscopic you tube world we thank you and totally love what u do!! Take care
Excellent description. I groked quite a bit from this presentation. Marinating is the next phase. Thank you very much for this perspective . Looking forward to more of the journey.
Thank you David. I appreciate that you have deepened and improved upon prior video uploads. What makes you different is that this is not about you, but about the science. The depth of your videos shows a deeper understanding than most youtubers science channels can't even compare to. Thank you
I think his pace and tone are perfect for these educational videos. I could listen to his voice all day long. The graphics and scientific summaries are nice too. Kudos to David.
Thank you sir. This is the most thorough explanation of the Higgs boson that I've yet seen. This is the first of your videos I've see yet I've already subscribed.
I just do not think they start discussing this early enough in school. I didn't hear about these, in an educational setting, until AP Physics in High School, and even that was not this comprehensive. I think this should be introduced as soon as students begin learning chemistry.
An absolutely stunning example of a well planned, beautifully organised and superbly delivered lecture. The pace and tone calculated to enable thought and absorption. It was a delight to appreciate a professional educator on top of their brief and someone who should be Subscribed to immediately.
This is a model of clarity and attractive presentation. I've been trying to wrap my mind around the idea of mass being largely the product of energy, rather than intrinsic mass of the constituent elementary particles, for years. The idea of confined energy being the basis of mass is fascinating -- thanks for explaining it so well.

I suppose they are not mutually exclusive. :-) This episode, the last version was my favorite of all. Unless you're Newton. A beautiful circle of knowledge.

Thoroughly enjoyable, inspiring, and thought provoking. Mind boggling is an understatement when wondering about the tools they will use in the future to study the Planck length and the nature of physics down near those scales

He was the only reason I eeked out 7 hours of sleep a night for like a month straight. But I can watch him anytime during the day too. That is greatness well rounded.
I always find it strange how people comment telling someone “I fall asleep to your videos every night” as if it was a compliment, especially given the topic that’s being discussed and how much time was put into preparing everything. It seems more like a backhanded insult - “your voice and videos are so boring, that I can fall asleep” is how a lot of it comes across lol (not yours specifically, just in general). At least you said you can watch him during the day, so I guess that’s more than what others say that at least appears more positive and appreciative.
